Work Text:

Ex Valk hadn't been a thing for 3 years now but mika and nazuna were back on friendly terms and by association nazuna and shu were talking again. Shu apologized to Nazuna, and while it was only a start over the next few months they had become friends again. Something that was technically in both of their best interests, as they are fated mates. And how does Mika know this? Well Shu's soul mate mark was right there on his hand… and Nazuna's on the back of his neck. A white bunny, a marionette, and interestingly enough a black cat with one blue and one yellow eye. While the doll and bunny looked happy compared to their previous crying forms (the ones they took just after exvalk disbanded) the cat was barely there. Just a faint mark, a smudge, an insignificant stain, next to its lovers…

Nazuna and Shu are on a date… today was originally the day Shu and Mika planned to work on the new outfits for the next live but… Shu said they could work on it that night instead. So when Mika walked by Cafe cinnamon and saw the two of them sitting there talking he reasonably got upset. But confronting two of his favorite people? Heck no, he went back to his dorm and complained to Ritsu's sleeping form. And when he was done he fell asleep. Meanwhile Shu and Nazuna were discussing their seemingly missing third soul mate. The Black cat with mismatched eyes, most likely an omega to compliment the two alphas. Theoretically their missing third was the clumsy boy they're both already head over heels for, except there was no way to prove it. Mika had always been on suppressants and even he barely realized he was an omega. So for them? It was impossible to tell his secondary gender, and that wasn't the only problem. The boy didn't have any visible soul mark. To Mika the mark was just hidden on his lower back, but to everyone else? It was a total mystery. So the couple did what any rational alphas would do, they asked Mika to pose naked for them. Just so they could paint him of course, nothing sexual.

So a few days later in a private studio they had their canvases set up, ready to try out this ‘new medium’ as they put it. Mika laid down on the table just like they wanted, and upon quick observation from the front the boy still had no visible mark. So they asked him to flip over, to get a different angle they said. He panicked but eventually flipped over anyways. Upon looking over his back they found his mate mark, the same one they had, a cute bunny, an elegant doll, and a black cat, more visible on its owner's skin than their own. Shu and Nazuna exchange a glance, then begin to paint. Mika lays there only somewhat uncomfortably until they finish painting. When they're done Nazuna slides onto the table next to Mika who immediately panics and sits up to cover himself. “N-Nazu-Nii!?” he says exasperated.

Nazuna gently touched the mark on Mika's back. “Why didn't you tell us?” Nazuna looks disappointed in him this is awful. He whines sadly, “ya don't need me ta be happy…” Shu looks angry when he says that too, like he had just insulted his art or perhaps done something careless and caused a mess again. “Non! Kagehira, you are our mate. Do not speak of yourself in such ways.” Mika curls in on himself, not up to being scolded by the two people he cherishes most. They both realize this and qant to comfort but they're unsure how. So Nazuna Pulls the poor boy into a hug and Shu watches. Mika whines and tries to escape Nazuna, never on a normal day would he do such a thing but right now he's more exposed than he's ever been, not just physically but also emotionally. And when Nazuna is so shocked by this that he let's Mika escape he just stares like a most heinous crime had been committed in his presence. Shu watches on in horror and awe as well, of course he'd be shocked, Mika isn't like this. Mere moments later that turn to each other, still wide eyed, processing the disaster they had led themselves into.
