He spend about a week aboard that boat before it sank
And the next thing he knew, he was in a ship, punched a pirate and had to rescue a scrawny kid whose destiny had been sealed the moment he was kidnapped by this 'Alvida' (or that was what Luffy heard from him)
Anyways, he had been hungry, so he went to where he smelt food, there he acknowledged that the kid's name was Koby, and that the ship he was in was getting robbed by the previously mentioned Alina or whatever her name was
If he was being honest, things that could have called his attention a bit more didn't happen until he heard about a certain guy people called 'The Demon of the East Blue'
He had been certain that him and Koby would get to the Grandline one moment or the other, but Koby wasn't about to have that, and so, they navigated for about two days before they got into an island called 'Sheldon Town' or something like that
Koby had told him about this guy when they were on their way to 'Sharon Town'
There, they met this girl named Rika, who, to their luck(?) knew this demon
After meeting him, his mind had been stuck with the guy with green, short hair, tanned skin, three earrings in his left earlobe, simple white blouse, dark green pants and piercing grey eyes
It made his mind immediately think of one thing 'he'll join my crew!'
A flutter on his chest at the thought of the guy accepting, one step closer to be the pirate king!
It didn't matter that at first the guy seemed to hate him, it didn't matter that he had yelled at him to go, and stop disturbing him, because the moment he saw his actually good-natured personality and a spark on those grey empty eyes, he felt something else
Something he knew wasn't just the want to have him on his crew
Something Ace had explained to him, telling him that it was different from the love he felt for him and Sabo, not stronger, but different
And Luffy reconized it
Even when be had never in his life felt it
He recognized it and accepted it
And just like that, when Zoro accepted, they were married, the day they just met, happily married
(We don't talk about the honeymoon)
Zoro saw him, and felt that flutter he had once thought to feel when he was younger, but with different reasons
It was close to determination but not really, because Zoro knew the differences between love and love love
When Luffy asked, Zoro was stunned, to say the least
Because who the fuck would have thought?
What's the actual probability that he likes someone he just met, and that that someone likes him back, even more when they're both..well, dudes?
Considering the closed mind almost everyone had these days
And Zoro considered the whole 'marrying after meeting" a big step, yeah, but that would not make him say no
Never ever.
And so, just like that, they were married, because Luffy saw him, and said: 'you're my husband now', and Zoro, like the simple person he was, just like that, said 'okay'
He didn't know what being married actually was, so they just acted like they were best friends or something like that
Though Zoro told Luffy that they would probably need to make it more official later because being officiated by a marine didn't entirely count, or at least that's what he thinks
Also, Luffy proposed having something like rings so there would be something that made them actually married, and because they were in a boat and didn't have many supplies, Zoro gifted Luffy one of his earrings
(Surprisingly, Zoro was good at making the hole for Luffy's earring, and he took care that it didn't get infected too, though the possibility was pretty low, too)
When they were leaving Orange town and with a new nakama (Nami bonked Luffy several times for calling her that) Zoro decided that he would be keeping an eye on this girl, she looked oddly suspicious, and he would never admit it, but he didn't liked how she touched Luffy with so much trust when they met less then a day ago
(Zoro was about to ignore the fact that him and Luffy married the first day they met and touched eachother with total trust, yep, Nami definitely didn't need to know that, until she had his complete trust, he wouldn't tell her anything about their relationship)
The next island they got to, thanks to Nami's surprisingly good abilities at navigating, had a small village which was called Syrup village
They met Usopp, drama happened and the waiter (or was he actually a waiter?) of this rich girl that appeared to be Usopp's girlfriend ended up being a bad guy and with everyone's help, they (Luffy and Zoro) defeated him and his annoying crew
After that, Usopp joined their crew and they got a new ship, an actual good ship
Going Merry
The name fitted, if you asked Zoro, since it seemed to always be happy
They celebrated big that night for the (two) new nakama and the next day they lifted the flag of their ship

That night, Zoro remembered it vividly, because that night, they, Zoro and Luffy, Luffy and Zoro, shared their first kiss as a couple
(It was Luffy's first kiss too, Zoro discovered later that night, and he was always going to be proud to say that he took it)
After that, Luffy acted a tad bit more clingy with Zoro, more then usual, at least, and Zoro was always more then happy to comply and let his silly rubber boy throw himself into his arms
Soon, they got to this sea restaurant called Baratie and things happened
Zoro got two slashes across his chest and a stab, one of these slashes almost ended with him dead, and he got them from no other then the man he swore to Kuina he would defeat
And he failed
He promised to his beloved that, no matter the damage, no matter the difficulty, no matter how much time it took, he would defeat Hawk Eyes Mihawk, and that he wouldn't lose until then
He cried, and yelled, and felt like trashing around more, but he couldn't, he didn't have the right to, when he made Luffy worried sick of him
Luffy accepted it with concern etched on his voice and the next thing he knows is darkness
Later on, they're traveling because his suspicions had been right and Nami had been a traitor but if Luffy said to go for her, he was going to obey
They got there, got separated (it was Usopp's fault!)
Then they reunited with Luffy and the shitty cook Luffy said was their new nakama
Then Nami came and hit them with the 'I don't care about you' card
Then Nami's sister came and Luffy left for a walk and Zoro fell asleep because if Luffy wasn't there with him he didn't have much to do here (even though he told Nami's sister he would listen to her since Luffy didn't, you couldn't blame him for falling asleep, his wounds were tiring him out and he needed to be strong for the battle he knew was coming)
Skipping unimportant stuff, they ended up winning, Nami was back and all, she had said goodbye to her sister and this old-hag named Genzo and then they partied for three freaking days in which one of those him and Luffy got..freaky
But it didn't go so far, just some sloppy kisses and a hickey and definitely not more in both their necks (they both found out then and there that they didn't want to go any further like ever, that just with kisses it was okay)
And, now we go to the present, when they had already parted from Cocoyashi and they were eating the lunch the shitty cook had made, Nami had been giving Usopp some knowing looks and Usopp gave them back
"Say, Luffy, did you have fun yesterday?"
Asked the liar, Nami chuckled under her hand, probably thinking he didn't know about the hickeys he had, and Sanji stopped on his tracks, as if to pay attention
"Yep! It was really fun to party with the villagers!"
The captain exclaims with that bright smile of his, and Usopp, Nami and Sanji's smirks falter because with the face Luffy had..How could he have..uh, love with some random woman?
It seemed like an impossible thing, like, extremely impossible
"But like, did that someone have fun too?"
Sanji asked, the straightforward bastard, and Zoro choker on his sake as he was starting to realize where this was going
"Who?"
Luffy's smile doesn't falter but he does have a frown on his face
"Guys, I think we all know the answer to this"
Zoro says, making the other three groan
"But how else did he get those hickeys?!"
Usopp asks, almost exasperated, seas, they were all too nosy for their own good
"And why do you even-"
Zoro was rudely interrupted
"Zoro did them!"
Freeze
A second passes, everyone's eyes are on Luffy
Another second, on Zoro
And so, the silence is broken by screams
"WHAT?!"
It took a while for all of them to understand that Zoro and Luffy married the moment they met
And just now they all noticed that Luffy had the same ring Zoro had, and that Zoro had a third hole with nothing in it on his earlobe
And so, they organized that when Luffy became the king of the pirates, he would marry Zoro and they would be officiated by Nami
It was a fair trade and they both liked it, but they still had the exchanged earring just because Luffy had insisted it was a reminder.
("I think it's a bad idea to let her officiate us, Luffy"
"Why?"
"The witch will probably multiply our weekly debt"
"What did you call Nami-san, you stupid mosshead?!"
"I can call her however the hell I want, shitty cook!"
"Stop it, you two!"
"Shishishi! That's fine Zoro, as long as we're together, that'll be fine!"
