Blue and purple and red. So much red.
Dripping down hands, staining fingertips scarlet that just last week had been stained black with ink.
Blue-black curls, slick with sweat and dirt. Curls that begged to be ruffled when his head knocked into elbow while nodding off writing reports after patrol.
Purple swollen knee, shattered, leg twisted inwards at an unnatural angle. Knobby knees, scraped and bruised after a grappling session, triumphant grins at besting his older brother.
Red blankets tangled in his feet, sprawled out, too small for the four poster bed. Crumpled and broken form, frozen forever too small.
