Chapter Text
Crowley had only one plan.
Leave the bookshop, not in any hour in particular, as Muriel, the new bookkeeper, how to enter Heaven, because a demon like him could not access without an angel. That's not actually fair, though, but he had other plans, important plans, ineffable plans, that have more urgent to be done by now.
In the elevator, he asked Muriel if they could stay here while he "Committed his plan" in heaven, they thought he was gonna ask something about Aziraphale, cause, It seemed like he was the only thing Crowley could possibly think about, all the time. The doors opened, a tall, black haired angel was waiting them, Crowley stopped when he saw who the figure was -Gabriel?!?- the demon said -Hello, we are grateful to have you as our guest here in heaven. Now please sing here with your name and occupation- The way than he spoke was terrifying to the demon and angel in the elevator, Their faces looked like something out of a horror movie.
-I don't fucking have time for this- the demon spoke, finally, his steps were like thunderbolts, the trace of smoke it left, like he was full of anger, or maybe he was literally burning, In the end, heaven is the holiest place. Muriel saw how Crowley, now a small, dark, smoky figure in the white place, was walking away quickly. He took another elevator and disappeared from their eye.
Heaven was like a maze, with dead ends, Muriel's old desk, desk where angels were working, but who he was looking was nowhere to be found, it was like he vanished, Crowley's steps slowed down, he fell into his knees, facing the holy ground, burning his skin more than it was before, his fist punched the floor, like it had the fault of all of this mess, the crack on the ground was dark, like the construction was made of something than wasn't just bricks and cement, of course it wasn't earth.
-AZIRAPHALE!- a hopeless scream was heard -Aziraphale, where the Heaven are you?! you basta..rds- his voice cracked and It resonated in the empty room -Aziraphale, for God's-- For The Archangel's sake, where are you?!- tears running down his face, why am I doing this? -HE WAS THE ONE THAT ABANDONED ME- He thought, or he thought he did, the echo of his voice resounded in the room, then, silence, -Hello Crowley- a soft voice spoke behind him, he flinched, -Who'z there?- he hissed, softly, trying to get up from the floor, his heart was beating faster than his thoughts, for a second he thought it could be his angel
He was barely standing, trembling on his feet, -Don't you remember me? Saraqel, we worked together- Crowley put a hand on his stomach, he felt like he was going to throw up, his head was spinning, and his skin was literally burning, -Yea, I remember, you- he said, as he raised his head- you came into my-- The bookshop, with the archangels. When- he stopped, the pain was killing him, then, he felt a presence, more than one, actually, not far from where he was standing.
Actually he was always feeling that he wasn't alone, after all, it was heaven, full of angels in their white clothes, but this one was powerful, and it was a known presence for Crowley. He looked up, then back to Saraquel, -Where iz him?- Crowley said, more pissed off than before, -Who're you talking abo-- they stopped, Crowley grabbed them by the shoulders, -Where izz HIM, YOU KNOW WHO IM TALKING 'BOUT- their faces were so close then they both could feel eachothers breathings in their faces, as the alarms of heaven started making a sharp noise.
-it's him!- A white haired angel said from the other side of the big room, Crowley thought, just for a second, in Aziraphale, but Michael appeared behind them, instantly eye contact, they looked frightened, as fast as they made eye contact, crowley ran towards a gate, or he thought it was a gate, it was, in fact, an elevator, but not The Elevator, it was just like a human one, with numbers instead of the three buttons. He went inside and closed the door as fast as he could, Crowley looked at the elevator buttons, there were almost 90 of them, but one was golden, he obviously pressed that one, Who wouldn't? he said to himself, but as time passed, he felt the presence more near, he trembled, and fell to the wall, put his hand in the wall, looking at it, his eyes watered, and a single tear fell from his eye, -I'm on my way, angel- he whispered, just before the elevator opened, showing an almost empty room, except por a dark haired angel with a trenchcoat and blue eyes, they turned his face like an animal, and tried to grab Crowley, with his last strength, he stretched his wings and quickly took off from the ground.
-Gosh- I'm fucked he thought -What do you even want?- he shouted, the angel just looked at him and immediately 5 other angels came from behind him -shit, shit, SHIT- he didn't even knew heaven could be like this big, because he was in fact, lost, until he saw two big gold gates, he tried to put his feet on the ground, helping his landing with the wall, he opened the big door, as fast as he did, the two archangels, Uriel and Michael, grabbed him by his arms and legs. -NO- he shouted, -Who's it?- a soft, well-known voice echoed on the white room, -Aziraphale?- Crowley sobbed, -I said, who is it?- he repeated, something was really wrong with him, and it was really worrying the demon. -WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HIM?!?- he shouted, tears running down to his face.
While on earth, there was an angel, but it wasn't Muriel, or Gabriel, it was The Supreme Archangel Aziraphale, who enters in his bookshop, leaves the thing than was on his hand in the bookshelf and start to look for something, or someone.
