So, his name came out the Goblet of Fire. No big deal, right? Not like Harry could die in this tournament or anything.
And no, he wasn’t hiding in the prefect’s bathroom, he was fine, perfectly fine. Myrtle didn’t seem fine with it, saying Harry shouldn’t be so long in the loo.
The click of the door alerted the both of them, Myrtle finally stopped her nagging and ran off to Merlin knows where. Harry held his breath as the steps grew closer, he tucked his knees to his chest, hoping to hide from whoever had entered.
“I know you’re in there, Potter,” said his saving grace. Harry practically burst out of the stall he was hiding in, running straight into Draco’s arms.
“I didn’t put my name in that blasted goblet,” Harry spoke softly into Draco’s robes. “I do hope you believe me, no one does.”
“Of course I believe you, Harry,” the blond whispered into Harry’s growing hair, his hand coming up to smooth the tangles and frizz. “You might be ignorant, but you aren’t plain stupid.”
Harry let out a sigh of relief, his first one all day. Maybe even all week.
Draco slowly pulled away from Harry and led the two of them away from the prefect’s bathroom and towards their “spot” along the bridge.
Harry leaned over the edge, facing out and down to the water. Draco was hugging him from behind, his chin resting on Harry’s shoulder.
“There isn’t any way out of it is there?” Draco asked, Harry could hear the worry laced in his voice. “Surely they can’t send a 14 year old into the tournament, I mean, you could die.”
Harry sighed and dropped his head. “Look, as silly as it sounds, that tournament is the last thing I want to think about right now.”
Draco just nodded, leaning closer into Harry. Harry focused on the warm embrace.
It was hard not to, it always was with Draco. If the two of them were near each other they had to be in some sort of physical contact, whether it be holding pinkies or tangling limbs. Not to mention Harry resisting the urge to kiss Draco anytime he was around.
Speaking of, Harry turned to face the other boy, grinning at him slightly.
“Hi,” Harry said shyly.
“Hello you,” Draco replied, the two of them giggling quietly.
They kissed softly through wide grins. Draco’s hands ran through Harry’s hair while the other boy’s hands found their way under Draco’s robes and on his waist.
A loud bell and students chatter, they quickly separated, wiping away their smiles.
Draco regarded Harry, “Potter,” He snarled, Harry sighed sadly.
“Malfoy,” He snarled back.
And they walked their separate ways.
It was hard, Harry thought as he walked back towards the castle, hiding Draco from everyone, including Ron and Hermione.
But it was safer, mainly for Draco and his own psyche. Draco’s biggest fear was for his father to discover that he and Harry Potter were a pair.
Harry made it to the Gryffindor common room and his brain went on auto-pilot getting ready for bed, that was until Ron slouched onto his own bed next to Harry’s.
“I didn’t put my name in that goblet, you know,” Harry apparently spoke to no one, because he got no response.
Harry sighed and tried to sleep, tossing and turning before finally passing out from exhaustion.
