Since that walk yesterday, you looked forward to talking to Hex again. You were eager to finish your work, but made sure to be patient and make sure it was all done correctly.
After the last box was ticked, you sprinted and slid onto your living room swivel chair from the side, which kindly spun its way to the coffee table for you. You picked up your phone from the table and texted your buddy.
You: hi!
Just roughly half a minute later, the thought bubble for the other texter appeared. He must have a lot of free time, you thought. It was sent not a second after, and no wonder;
Hex: :D
You smiled and nose-puffed, seeing your screen right now. Then you realized this was also an actual interaction you just had with someone who was as excited to see you as you were back, if not more. Your heart melted warmly. You felt it drip through your chest. This was beautiful. Life was beautiful. Your eyes teared up a little bit.
You set your hand down from your mouth, determined. You could think more about this tonight and ever! You couldn’t leave your friend hanging!
You: wanna b ball?
Hex: [•𓎟•]⤵️?
Like a puppy dog’s head tilt. Or maybe he was thinking of crouching down to hear you better since he’s so tall and tried to show that through text?
You: b ball is basketball
Hex: YESS!!!
