“Lucky, it’s so good to see you.” Teddy wrapped his big arms around the lithely built man and brought him into a bear hug . The bunny simply sighed and allowed his friend to do as he pleases before pushing Teddy away from him, fixing the white gloves on his hand, wincing as he saw they were stained with red splotches.
“It doesn’t feel like a good time, old friend.” Lucky’s tone was solemn as his eyes fell to you, still passed out clutching his stuffed form in your chest like he was going to disappear at any given second. His heart wept for you. He truly did. He mourned with you.
Teddy allowed his usual smile to fall from his face and he pressed his large hand to the bunny rabbit’s shoulder, squeezing it comfortingly.
“I know..they’re… It’s resurfacing again.” Teddy explained and Lucky bent down, placing his arms on his knees as he gently tried to move a strand of your hair from your face but it simply phased through you and he frowned, standing back up.
“I assumed, it’s been a while since they even looked at me. Last time I saw them was when they hid me, they couldn’t stand to look at me. I couldn’t appear to anyone for so long because of how damaged I was.” Lucky pressed his gloved hand to his shoulder, the same shoulder you had stitched up. “Still hurts.”
“Well then, who’s this?” A new voice cuts through the room as Dorian introduces himself into the conversation. His towering form glaring at the stranger, as if judging whether or not he’s a friend or foe. Hands tightly clasped in front of him.
“Dorian, this here is uh.. Lucky The Rabbit.” Teddy stepped aside and Lucky placed a hand on his chest, sticking his other arm out before giving a very delicate and elegant bow, cherry blossom pink bangs falling as he did so.
“Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Dorian.” He said politely before straightening his posture and Dorian blinked at the theatrics. Teddy simply chuckled at them.
“I don’t remember no ‘Lucky The Rabbit’ ever living in this’ere house, no offence to ya fella, but-” Dorian made an annoyed sound as Lucky held his gloved hand up and then motioned to you on the floor.
“I’ve been here. Just broken and unable to show. I only appeared now because I look presentable.” He huffed, tugging on his mixed buttoned up waistcoat with an annoyed pout. Teddy could feel a little bit of tension, an irritable kind and he cleared his mouth.
“Lucky, how about I introduce you to the rest of the house? Over some hot coco?” Teddy’s arm coiled around the rabbit’s shoulder and Lucky seemingly melted into the bear’s touch.
“...Do you remember how I take it, friend?” Teddy only smiled gleefully; leading him towards the door and Dorian didn’t push it.
“Lots of milk and extra ‘mallows.” Teddy replied as they walked past Dorian and he said nothing, looking at your form on the floor before he saw Betty peak her head around.
“You coming, love? Meet the new guest?” He asked her and Betty shook her head and moved to kneel and lay down next to you on the floor, wishing she could touch you.
“No..I’m going to stay here with them..make sure they get pleasant dreams…I can do introductions later.” Betty’s soft voice replied as her hand just kept phasing through you. Dorian nodded quietly before gathering the rest of the objects from upstairs and told them there was a meeting going on downstairs.
“So uh, who the fuck are you?” Tony’s voice spoke out through the awkward silence that seemed to hang over the room and Skylar hit the toolbox on his shoulder.
“Tony! Be nice.” She hissed and Tony rubbed his shoulder, mumbling something. Lucky simply twitched one of his ears as he was taking a long sip of his hot coco, with extra milk and marshmallows; courtesy of Teddy and Kopi who he had managed to speak to prior the big meeting. He placed the cup down on the saucer below him, wiping his mouth with a napkin. He was always a gentleman first. He then shot a fierce glare towards the tool box.
“You don’t recognise me? Does the attic remind you of anything? Perhaps a blood covered rabbit teddy?” Despite the harshness of Lucky’s voice, the anger swelling in his tone, he calmed and steeled himself when Teddy pressed a soft hand to his back. Tony seemed to stiffen as did a few other objects in the room.
“Please forgive me, if my manners are lacking at this moment in time. The human some of you have managed to upset has me in a quite unpleasant mood. I’m disappointed in you, Lady Memoria. I am Lucky The Rabbit, I inhabit the rabbit clutched in their arms right now.” His red eyes caught the macabre woman in the crowd and she would not meet his intense gaze.
“Look, we didn’t… we didn’t mean to upset them. We just got curious or whatever.” Cameron piped up with his usual bland tone and Lucky’s ears twitched in irritation as did his foot, making a soft thump against the floor.
“So you decided to go behind their back? Snoop? You caused more damage than you think, they weren’t ready to open up about this, but you forced your foot in the proverbial door huh? No offence, Dorian.” Dorian simply huffed at him. But he wore a solid look of shame because it was exactly what they did.
“I still can’t believe you guys did that.” Freddy muttered from his place against the wall.
“Ughh.. it’s not that bad! We totally didn’t do anything wrong, they’re being a total drama queen-” Lux froze, the look the rabbit was giving them was positively predatory as if daring them to speak ill about you and challenging them to see what happens.
“If you.. Don’t mind me asking, what exactly are you to them? The pictures around the house only show them and Teddy…” Maggie hummed, despite her worry for you unfortunately, her need to figure out the mystery was too much.
“I belonged to…” Lucky seemed to pause, as if the name on his tongue wouldn’t budge, Teddy’s warm hand stroked his back as he remembered his previous owner, “Adina was her name, she was their younger sister.”
“Was?” Maggie pressed, noticing the very intended choice of past tense. Lucky bristled at how invasive these people were. Teddy sighed. The rest of the objects seemed to close in, you had never mentioned your family before.
“Perhaps we should stop here tonight..” Teddy was worried about his friend, it had been a while since he had seen Lucky and to be brought back and then having to talk about Adina? He worried about what could happen. Lucky looked at his old friend, giving him a wry smile.
“Maggie..” Skylar warned her but the ginger continued to press.
“Did she..die?” The whole room fell silent; Lucky seemingly freezing, these objects..persistent.
“She did, I was hers. I was the human’s gift to Adina when she turned four. They were thirteen at the time. I will not elaborate any further. So, as much as it has been an…experience.. meeting you all. I wish to return to my human.” Lucky states and stood up from the couch, Teddy following suit with him. Skylar slapped a hand over Maggie’s mouth before she could get any more questions out. Skylar beams over to Lucky with a bright smile.
“It was nice to meet you, Lucky! I hope to see you around the house more~” Lucky simply placed his gloved hand on the frame, where the living room meets the foyer.
“We shall see, dear.” Lucky replied from over his shoulder but before both he and Teddy disappeared towards your room, Lucky let his gaze wander around the room. “My suggestion to you all is you better make it up to them, promptly. ” Was all he left the dateable’s with before disappearing. He could hear them start to chat amongst themselves but he didn’t care. His priority was you.
“Hello..Lucky right?” The rabbit’s gaze fell to a rather plump, beautiful woman on the floor with you and he nodded his head.
“Betty.” She didn’t take her eyes off you as you slept. Your face contorted into fear and hurt as you slept on the floor and Lucky sat down next to you on the other side.
“I can’t..I can’t make their dreams good.” She whimpered and Lucky sighed, as Teddy sat on the bed, watching over the three of you.
“It might be for the best… to let them remember it right now.” Lucky sighed and a silence fell on the three of them.
Watching helplessly as you whimpered in your sleep.
