His calendar is full.
Yibo has a flight into Beijing on Tuesday afternoon and out on Thursday morning. He had some free time on Wednesday, precious unscheduled hours in the evening, but his manager rescheduled a photoshoot at the last minute, and now his calendar is full. There’s no time to see Xiao Zhan at all. He feels tears prick at the edges of his eyes and quickly blinks it away, breathing carefully.
He’s been looking forward to this all week. They both knew that long-distance was going to be hard compared to their summer of filming, but everything was going to be hard when dealing with their schedules and contracts and the press. They were going to make it work. Texts flying back and forth throughout the day, selfies whenever they could, video calls to fall asleep to each night. That includes making time to see each other when they happen to be in the same city, no matter how long. But Yibo can’t even squeeze in a breath on Wednesday, let alone budget time to be with someone else. He feels like he’s being forced to choose between the two things he loves the most.
His phone buzzes.
It’s Xiao Zhan. dd ur coming over at 6 on wed right???
Fuck it. When push comes to shove, he knows who he’ll pick. The photoshoot can wait.
Yes, he sends back. Adds a heart emoji. See you soon.
Then, he calls his manager.
