Work Text:
Solem quiet had settled over the estate along with the night. The only light stretching across the floor from the closed windows. Orante iron swirled up the glass in an artistic fashion and molding the shadows across the floor into its shape. The bedroom’s only occupant sat at the end of the queen sized, four poster canopy bed. Translucent curtains pulled back and tied on each post.
Hana smoothed out her night gown once more from her nervously fussing over it. The clean towels were already spread on her bed. Spares left on the desk chair. Just in case. She stopped herself from wringing her hands again. This wasn’t anything to be nervous about. She jumped as the handle of her bedroom door clunked and creaked as it was pushed inward echoing in the night. The shape of a figure slipping in and softly closing the entrance behind them. Hana couldn’t look away as the figure grew closer. Soft night light from the window washing over the figure as she grew closer to the bed. Hana’s eye traveled up as the dim light revealed that Angel was indeed still wearing her work clothes. A very complimentary set of dark green trousers, white button up shirt that she left a few of the top buttons undone, and a nice dark green blazer. The official outfit making her hyper aware of how dressed down she was in comparison. Maybe she should have worn a bit more everyday wear too. Even if Angel had insisted she wanted her to be comfortable, it still felt like she was undressed here!
“You’re not too nervous, are you?” Angel’s ever calm voice pulled her out of her internal spiral. The back of the woman’s neck revealing more of her sun kissed skin as she tied back shoulder length, dark, wavy hair. As she turned around, Hana noted that her jacket was now hanging over the back of the writing chair. Her footsteps didn’t make a sound as she came closer to the bed, shrugging off her suspenders to hang at her waist. The vessel couldn’t keep eye contact once the bed dipped next to her. Burning at the tips of her ears that she couldn’t hide. Angel reassuring but teasingly, “It’s okay if you are.”
“I’m not,” though it came out small. Her own hands betrayed her in bunching up the fabric of her night gown.
Though Angel didn’t say it, she’s sure that she didn’t believe her. Instead, the vampire reached over touching her arm. “You’ll want to move back more.”
“Oh, okay,” Hana latched onto the transactional part of this. She could do this. The mattress bouncing underneath as she moved herself back further until her knees bumped against the edge. Then the hand on her arm was gone and there were hands on her waist, pulling her back even further until she could practically lay down on the bed. Hana tilted her head up to be greeted by Angel’s natural smile. “You’ll want to lay down for this. You’ll be tired.”
“Um,” the vampire’s hands were still resting on the thin layer of fabric of her gown. She could feel her ears burning brighter. Was it traveling down her neck? Hana focused on pulling the towels that had bunched up from under her, “R-right.” It didn’t last as long as she liked. Angel helped get everything back into place and then Hana was reclining with her weight pressed back on her elbows staring up at the canopy. Even sooner there was a weight boxing in on either side of her hips. Steady hands buttoning down a few of the girl’s gown pushing the fabric aside to expose more of her neck. Angel’s finger pads then her palm touching above her collar bone then curling around to cup the back of her neck and tangling a bit in the hair at her nape. Hana leaned her head to the side as the older woman bent her head downward. She could hear her heartbeat thumping in her ears. Hot breath against her skin, but nothing pierced it.
Another hand snaked around to the small of her back and pulling her flush against the lukewarm body above her with ease. As if she weighed nothing at all. “Ready?” the words raising goosebumps where they brushed against her skin. The new position making her both more anxious and secure pressed up against the vampire. Hana took a shaky breath and let it out. This wasn’t anything to be nervous about. Not with Angel of all people. It was just a little bite. Hana reached up holding onto the back of the woman’s cotton shirt. She could do this. “Go-“ her voice broke and she cleared her throat, “Go ahead.”
Small pinpricks right against her pulse sinking, sinking in, and piercing flesh in a quick prick of pain that mellowed out to a numbness around the bite. Hana gripped the cotton in her hand tighter. She could barely feel the fangs leave her skin and with it she knew her blood would be running freely if not for Angel latching on to drink it like her life depended on it. She felt the sigh the woman let out vibrate in her chest from where they were pressed together. Though the area was numbed, she could feel the pressure against her neck. Gulps of crimson leaving her for the vampire she’s eternally tied herself to. The longer it went on for, the more Hana noticed her heart was pumping faster, her breathes getting sharper. Her grip on Angel’s shirt was weakening. The other arm wasn’t supporting her weight at all, but it hardly mattered. She was still held in the same position by the feeding vampire. Thoughts were becoming wispy, difficult to grasp. A point of alarm hit the back of her throat prompting her to weakly call out, “Angel?”
The vampire detached herself from her neck but barely moved away. A few rivets of blood started running down the human's skin to drip down from the puncture wounds. “Just a little more,” Angel spoke against the numbed wounds before softly covering those puncture wounds with her mouth once more to coax her blood into her hungry jaws.
Just a little more. The thumping in her chest. Forcing herself to take longer inhales and exhales. Closing her eyes as her mind reached a buzzing numbness of its own. Just a little longer. Her grip on the vampire's shirt loosening entirely to slump onto the bed. Letting out a shaky exhale. The pressure on her neck disappeared. The weight of the bed rose up to gently hold her as those hands left her. There was movement in the room then a dip in the mattress near Hana again. Her limbs were like lead. A pressure on her neck again. Was she not done? Hana was barely able to peel her eyes open. Angel was leaning over her. The light from the window shrouding her face and framing behind her head giving her the appearance of her namesake. There was pressure on her neck, but Angel was still above her. It took a lot longer than it should have for her brain to connect that it was a bandage.
“Well done, Hana.” The vampire commented as she refastened the buttons on the human’s night gown, hiding the proof of their activity tonight. “Rest." Angel's hand cupped the girl's cheek. "I’ll watch over you.” The vessel didn’t have the strength to even nod. All she could do was close her eyes comforted by the fact that she was safe under the woman’s protection. As she’d always be.
