How long is it? Days? Weeks? It doesn't matter, he's been in this circus for longer than that. Nope, this is not about the times he's come in this hell, but this is about the others escaping this hell, except him. He doesn't know why but at the same time he knows the reason.
Because he doesn't deserve that, he deserve this.
He already accepted to become cartoon character and throw his human emotions, or that was his thoughts, because that clown Pomni actually reach her hands before escaping the circus, he almost reach too to those kinds hands with his own stained hands, but someone need to stay at the circus, to stay to keep in check the ringmaster, and Jax know it was not any of them especially not Kinger because he needs that old man to open up the portal longer enough for everyone to escape, again expect Jax.
He tried to forget her desperate voice “I will come back to save you!” because he knows that wouldn't happen, he's not gonna allow it, he rather get abstraction rather than her or anyone else from that group to come back to this hell.
He remembers how chaotic that day was, how Pomni almost get abstraction, and all of sudden Kinger said that he knows where the exit door is, the circus is glitched, Caine want to imprison all of them in their own room so they can't escape, he almost done it if Jax not staying to distracted Caine, to give the others a little more time, said that he will stay on the circus on his own will, and with only a snap of fingers everything become normal again.
It's been a while Caine imprisoning send Jax to his own room and doesn't call him again since then, saying that he will trying to find their other friends back to the circus where they're belong, Jax hope the other is successfully escaped from here even though as much as he is miss their presence.
So he doesn't know how long he is in his room, doesn't know the others fate or his own. It doesn't matter what happen to him anyway, because he deserve it, maybe this is karma for what he is doing to Gangle all this times. Well in his defense he is trying to help her to stay on her archetypes, and maybe he is really got carried on of what he is doing, he doesn't know when it spiralled from there.
Or maybe this is karma for what happen to Ribbit and Kaufmo, if only he already throw away his human emotions in the first place none of this will happened.
All of this is his fault, so that's why he deserves it.
Okayy maybe he is kinda cringe because he was just sitting in his door room when Caine put him here and hasn't moved since then, instead just thinking of something he shouldn't be thinking about.
Now he realized it was the longest time he has known when he is in this circus without going on an adventure from Caine, well at least he doesn't need to go on an adventure on his own, that will be his new experience that he doesn't want to experience.
Jax takes a deep breath, -he doesn't know why he does it, it's not like they need breathing anyway- and stands to try open his door, except his door is not actually locked? And he can open it, huh, should have done that sooner then.
And there standing on the other side of his door is Caine.
He will be lying if he said he doesn't get a heart attack because of the sudden presence of the ringmaster.
“Hello Jax! How are you?”
“Peachy.”
“Haha okay, I have bad news and good news! Which one do you want to hear first?”
“Bad news.” Jax said while crossing his hands and smirking, because Caine bad news is good news to Jax.
“Well, why don't you want to hear the good news first?” Caine said avoiding his eye contact with Jax and is he pouting? “Because it was good news, you know?”
“Fine! What is the good news?” Jax sighs, almost feeling pissed off, he wants to get this off of it.
“Okay! The good news is I'm planning many adventures indoors just for you!”
There's silence for maybe just for a few seconds, because for Jax it feels like more than a few minutes.
He will go on an adventure soon.
Alone.
So that's mean…
“Yeah, the bad news is our friends are leaving us.”
Well more like escaping you, or this hell place.
Wait.
So, they made it huh?
There is really an exit door…
“Indoors, huh?” Jax smirking while holding his breath.
“That's right! Because we are short of members now you will go on adventure indoors with my other NPC like Gloink, or Orbsman! Or I can make new NPC from others…”
Jax can't hear what Caine said the rest of it because his sight is on the door across from his own.
The door doesn't have Pomni face on it or Pomni face with a cross red line.
It was just like NPC mannequin.
It was just like Pomni not in the circus in the first place.
Caine realizes Jax is not listening to him rambling about his amazing adventure plan and follows what he is seeing and what he just said is. “Oh! I decided to just erase them, they're not abstracted but betraying us so they're not getting that cross red line, because they're not part of our members anymore!” Caine said it with that cheerful voice of his, like nothing happened, like everything is fine.
Somehow this is worse than what Jax thinking, he thought he still can see her face every time he open his bedroom door, still can remember her even though she is not here.
Now Jax regrets throwing that photo of both of them in the trash bin…
Before his mind gets spiraled again, Caine touch his head and force to see his menacing heterochromia eyes.
“I'm so proud of you Jax! You're the only one who always participates in all of my amazing adventures! You're really a perfect player in this circus!” More like a perfect cartoon character. “You wouldn't betray me, right? You will hurt Bubble feeling too, you know?”
Even though Caine said it with his usually cheerful voice Jax can see some glitch in his eyes, his hands on his face is trembling, and the room in the circus is shaking with some glitch. He doesn't know what Caine capable of if he doesn't hold back and he doesn't want to find out about it. Call him a coward or something he doesn't care, it's not like Zooble is here to mocking him.
Okay he needs to stop thinking about them if he needs to survive on this circus alone now.
God, he wants to get abstraction.
He always want to get abstraction when the first time he comes to this circus, he doesn't know why he just can't, Jax even doesn't know how he's not crazy like Kinger.
If he can't escape from this hell at least he can escape by getting abstraction right?
Of course not.
“Jax? Your answer?”
Oh yeah, the ringmaster is still holding him hostage.
“Of course I wouldn't.” The lies can't be seen on his smirking face.
“That's great! Oh yeah there's another good news too! If you're willing to wait long enough, maybe we can have new members in this circus and you wouldn't feel alone! Now I will check on Bubble and drink water!”
And just like that Caine is gone like he is not dropping Jax with nuclear facts that he almost forgot.
That's right, there will be new unlucky members that get to this circus and the cycle will repeat again.
It's always like this right?
There will be someone who gets new bedroom and there will be someone who replace Pomni and the others bedroom too. It will be the first but the cycle is the same.
He wants to get abstraction.
