“You play games on your computers, lun?” Lala asked, peering over Hikaru’s shoulder as she brought a laptop up to their room. Hikaru, in turn, looked at the girl quizzically. “You don’t? Computer games are so much fun! I’ve spent so many nights playing them, ehehe… even if my parents would get mad at me staying up so late.”
Lala sighed. “That sounds like you, lun. But no, we don’t. They’re just for navigation and advice and other things like that.”
“Awww, that’s sad! It means your kind hasn’t experienced any of the classics! Terrible, just terrible” Hikaru said, shaking her head repeatedly.
“Well, as ambassador of Earth’s unique technologies, what do you recommend, lun?”
Lala looked over at Hikaru’s desktop, seeing a gathering of all sorts of programs. Many of them definitely looked like they weren’t practical programs. There was… Touhou, Cookie Clicker, X-COM… UFO Defense? They were not playing that one, Lala immediately knew that. Blue Reflection had a girl who kind of looked like a Precure on the icon.
However, before she could ponder the rest, Hikaru had clicked on a game of her choosing
Music started up, and text in English flashed on the screen. “This is the story of a fighter who wanted to become…”
Then, before she could read the rest, a flashy opening played, text all over the screen, showing spaceships fighting one another, what looked like giant robots, and other various information matrixes.
“Pretty twincool, huh Lala?”
“Yeah, yeah it is!” the girl replied.
“You know what, I’m moving to the bed. The floor is too hard. Would you wanna join me?” Hikaru asked, a slight giggle in her voice
Lala blushed, but they moved close together on the bed, covered by the same blanket. It was… nice, being this close, watching noHikaru play these “video games”, as she called them.
Hikaru then booted up the game, seeing a spaceship blast off into a background of green and orange. Hikaru started focusing, dodging the bullets the enemy ships fired at her, and returning in kind.
Her face was so cute when she was all focused, Lala thought, the way her lips would scrunch together and she’d glare just a little, but having those super-soft eyes nonetheless… Oyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo…
Hikaru finally noticed after clearing the stage, replying to Lala, “are you gonna stare at me the whole time, or do you wanna look at the game too? My flying skills are pretty twincool, you know!”
As she said that, a stray bullet hit her ship, causing a Game Over screen to appear.
“...Ignore that.”
Lala giggled a bit. How could this dorky human girl be so cute?! It should be illegal! But then, if it was illegal, Hikaru would be arrested, and then Lala would miss her. So perhaps it was fine that she was allowed to be cute.
She decided to watch the game, snuggling closer to Hikaru on the bed. She was warm and comfortable, which was nice. Though Lala did worry she was making Hikaru a bit uncomfortable, given she ran a little cold, body temperature wise. However, the pleased chirp Hikaru made when Lala came closer assuaged those fears. She really was too cute for words.
Hikaru began explaining the game's plot as she fought a giant robot with her spaceship. That of an interplanetary war over a Lotus Jewel, and an embodiment of despair that must be overcome lest Earth be destroyed. It seemed to be a very fun story, if a bit discriminatory towards aliens.
“We’ve gotten this schtick as invaders who are a threat to your planet for too long, you know, lun”
“Hehehe, yeah, if they knew how twincool aliens really were, I would absolutely say that we’d start throwing away our copies of War Of The Worlds and whatnot, eheheh”
Lala couldn't help but grin. “You're so cute, Hikaru-lun. I’m so glad I met you”
Hikaru turned a shade of bright red in response. Giggling like a moron, she took her hands off the laptop and put her arms around Lala. “You're cute also, Lala. The most twincool thing that has ever happened to me”
With those words, with this night in mind, just for a minute, Lala thought to herself
Everything's gonna be okay, lun
