Chapter Text
Only a few years ago, it was known that the entire outside world was deadly, that one misstep would lead to a swift death at the hands of a Sky Demon. And yet… even after countless had died at the hands of these beasts, and many more had a friend or family member who had died, there was an offer that could hardly be refused when given.
Solverland. An amusement park built and run by the Murder Drones with the purpose of obtaining oil without the need to kill. It was made on the outside, which should have meant that any who went there would be killed by the demons who weren't in on the scheme. And yet the drones who worked there would fend off any who threatened the park. It was odd, being defended by those meant to kill you. Maybe that was one of the reasons people even went to the park, the feeling of power derived by being safe from those stronger than you. Another reason was likely how that place was the closest anyone could get to being truly outside the bunker and safe, anywhere else was a deathtrap. The only downside was the price of admission for a day.
One full bag of oil, freshly siphoned.
It was the only thing they asked for at first, although later down the line a small monetary fee was tacked on for the purpose of maintaining the park without scrounging around for scrap 24/7, and to hire hands whenever necessary. Although many drones had been contracted to assist the demons of this place, no one had been brave enough to consider truly working there along with perpetually hungry beasts who may lose control and devour them at any moment. All the people who even bothered to find the application area were either dared to work there for a day or made fake applications just to waste time.
All but one.
“Thank you for applying to Solverland, we're always happy to have new members of the family!” In the website, details of where the interview would take place and at what time were noted. Oddly enough, there was a yellow eyed chibi dog right next to them as well.
“I know something's wrong with that damn place, and when I prove it, they'll all see me as the hero I am!” Uzi giggled maniacally at the thought of throwing photos of evil torture chambers the workers used on unsuspecting guests and dead drones on her father's desk, just to prove her hunch was right, and that everyone was a fool for doubting her!
They shall all notice her. They shall all remember their Hero…
“Uzi! Are you finally getting a job after 20 years?”
“SHUT UP DAD!”

N sat at his desk on break, munching on a nearly flavorless oilbar, waiting for his next shift. Checking the company email, he was surprised to see a notification for someone actually applying. As he sat up straight to see the contents, someone peeked over his shoulder.
“10 oilbars says that's fake.” V made her presence known to her coworker, smiling as he rolled his eyes.
“Come on V, that's how it's been for the last 15 times, I'm not falling for it again. It's already bad enough that whoever has to do the interview is required to do overtime if it's a no-show!” She laughed and walked away, ignoring his look of annoyance.
“I don't know why you bother with these things N, no puny little thing will actually walk into a lion's den just like that.” With that, she left no room for argument while going back to her shift at the giftshop.
‘I know, we need more employees, but my complaints just get brushed off!’ He remembered the amount of times a clearly automated message simply told him there was nothing that could be done about it.
‘Please, we could use anyone.’
