"So you did turn like the rumors said," a voice slightly echoed as Soul froze slightly in her place. Neth walked a couple feet before realizing she stopped.
"Shadow? You okay?"
Soul almost desperately looked around, panic already trying to build up as she desperately tried ignoring it and tried to find the source of the voice.
There wasnt anything right away, just the stillness of the night, not before she notices the faint enderman particles that stood still in one area being disappearing as she slightly moved back to he closer to Neth.
Then she saw purple eyes staring back at her, blending into a shadow as she just started, backing up closer to Neth as they stepped out and become more visible to the both of them.
Neth looked towards them and then back at Soul, noticing just how tense she looked as she pulled her staff out and held it way tighter than she probably needed to.
"Look whose back out and playing hero again," they smiled, staring while Soul desperately looking away, not he able to hold the eye contact from both it slightly hurting and the small short memories starting to come back.
"What- what do you want?" She desperately tried to keep her voice steady as the ender smirked slightly.
"Awww what's wrong there shadow? Scared it'll happen again?"
Neth looked between the 2 of them, slightly standing in front of Soul.
"What are you on about and what do you want?"
"Didn't she ever tell you? What happened in that cell, all left alone with nobody coming to save her?"
Soul's hands slightly shook, breathing starting to become more visibly uneven, but wasn't gonna fall- don't break just- take it.
"How i visited her? Told her, showed her just how breakable and weak and easy she really was to defeat when she was left alone with nothing," they smiled as Neth's face narrowed in on theirs.
"You- you took her?"
"I figured out the way, caught her off guard and followed my goal,"
Soul stepped out slightly as she tried to swing her staff at them, only for them to move and end up behind her as she forcibly fell foward with a kick to her knee.
Destruction glared, eyes slightly starting to glow as a little ball of fire appeared in their hands.
"Still havent gotta any better huh? Thought you would have,"
"You will not do any of that,"
"And how are you gonna stop me?"
They disappeared right as Destruction threw fire near their direction and it was still again. Nothing moved, everything was quiet again.
Shadow tried getting to her feet as Destruction quickly moved to her side. She was still visibly shaken, uneven breathing while trying to get it back and just make everything stop. Her vision was slightly going blurry which wasnt helping anything.
Neth moved to gently pick her up and bring them both back home and out of the night.
-----
They got back quickly as Neth took both of them to the couch and quickly pulled her into a hug, lightly rubbing her back.
"Okay, we're okay, we're home safe,"
She hummed, burying her face into her shoulder and trying to ground herself. Her vision still was slightly failing her but the feeling of their shirt and his hands against her back was helping as her vision focused back as her breathing slowed, leaning against them as he comforted her.
"I-i thought it'd be fine- that i could fight i...."
"But that's understandable why you froze, it was a lot,"
"Thought i was over it- was so long ago should be stronger than that,"
"No, no you don't have to be. Yes, your strong and brave but you don't always have to be, not when things get hard,"
Soul couldn't even try and stop the tears that formed and started to slightly fall, still not fully used to tbe comfort but gladly taking it when he gave it.
"Shhh, its okay, your okay,"
She stayed quiet as the tears flowed and eventually stopped, physically just exhausted from eailer.
"There we go, its gonna be okay,"
"Y-you dont-"
"I do know that, you got through it before when it hurt like hell and was hard, we'll get through this now," Neth pulled back slightly to hold her face gently, pushing the hair out of her face as she leaned into the touch.
She briefly let her eyes close, the exhaustion catching up to her.
"Think for now thou, bed cuddles darling?"
Soul nodded as Neth maneuvered the both of them slightly so he could pick her back up again and bring them both to their room.
