Work Text:
When March heads downstairs, to the kitchen, she notices her girlfriends are already up. She, of course, stayed up late yesterday, because she had to take photos of the gorgeous night sky.
Stelle and Firefly are chatting about something, when March enters the room. Stelle, the tallest in their triad, is currently making breakfast, it seems. Smoke is coming out of the toaster, and a batch of freshly made toasts are laying on a plate nearby. Firefly is sitting next to their kitchen counter. She notices March first.
“Well, hello, earlybird!”, she smiles. “Sleep well?”
March nods and yawns. A closer look at her girlfriends makes her notice they are both still in their nightwear. That’s good, because March herself didn’t have time to dress.
“Hi, Marchie!”, Stelle looks at her and then picks up the plate with the food. “Care for some toast?”
“I’d like that, thank you.”, March grabs one for herself and kisses Stelle on the mouth. Her girlfriend tastes like an energy drink mixed with cheese.
She then proceeds to sit next to Firefly and kisses her too. Firefly’s lips taste like toothpaste. “That checks out,” March thinks.
She takes a bite of her toast, which to her surprise is very well done, crispy and hot, but not burnt. Seems like Stelle mastered her technique of toast-making.
“So, what were the two of you talking about earlier?”, March asks in between her bites.
“Oh, Stellie got a recommendation of a band from one of her friends”, Firefly giggles. “She listened to it and now can’t stop talking about how awesome they are.”
“They really are!”, Stelle responds with a fake angry pout. “Their first album is practically a new genre in and of itself and it gets better and better with every new release! And guess what? They will play at a festival in the city near ours!”
“I already told her that we can’t afford it, by the way.”, Fly rolls her eyes.
“Oh, c’mon, let me dreeeeeaaaaam.”, Stelle whines.
“Stelle, honey, don’t you ever change.”, March giggles, finishing her meal.
Then she remembers something. “Oh shit.”
“What is it?”, Firefly lays her hand on March’s arm, a little concerned.
“I totally forgot that I have an appointment with my endo today!”, March isn’t panicking, because there’s no need to, but she scolds herself in her mind for forgetting about it anyway.
“Ouchie.”, Stelle turns off the toaster and finally allows herself to eat. “We wanted to go to the cinema today.”
Marchie shakes her head. “I know, I know! I’m sorry…”
“No, no!”, Stelle responds, in a reassuring tone. “I should be sorry. Didn’t wanna make you feel guilty. It’s okay, Marchie. We can go to the cinema some other time.”
“Okay…”, March still feels a little bit guilty, but also a little bit better.
“Marchie, tell me.”, Firefly looks at her with a serious glow in her eyes. “You haven’t run out of HRT and lied to us about it, to not ‘waste’ our medicine by lending it to you, right?”
March feels her cheeks burning red.
“Ehehehe… No, I promise. It isn’t like the last time. I still have some of my pills and this appointment is just a control visit. To check my levels and stuff.”
“I still think we all should just go D.I.Y.”, Stelle says with a resigned look on her face.
“Maybe someday, give Marchie some time.” , Fly scolds their girlfriend. “Now, Marchie, how long until your appointment?”
“Actually, not long.”, March sighs. “It’s in about two hours. But it’s online”
“Well, alright, so this is what we’ll do.”, Fly decides to put her strategic mind to good use. “Let’s get dressed, then Stelle will make you some coffee with oat milk and I will check if the microphone and camera on your laptop are working. Then we’ll do something fun together till your appointment to de-stress you a bit. How does that sound?”
March smiles and nods. “Sounds good.”
Stelle walks up to the counter and grabs March’s hands into her own. Her golden irises are like arrows that pierce straight to March’s little, useless, sapphic tranny heart.
“Hey, and don’t you worry about that cinema stuff. I shouldn't even bring that up. We’ll do it some other time, I promise.”, the tallest woman says gently. “We love you.”
“Yes, we love you, Marchie.”, Firefly presses her lips to March’s cheek.
“Hehehehe… I love you both too.”, March answers, while her heart melts and her short-lived worry vanishes completely in the embrace of her partners.
She’s so lucky to have them.
