Third person pov
Harry didn’t expect to wake up to a letter dropping onto his face, but that’s how his Monday started out. It was Monday July 1st of 1993, at 4:30 in the morning, according to the broken clock on his bedside table. Now usually people wouldn’t wake to something like a letter falling on their face, but Harry is an incredibly light sleeper thanks to his Aunt Petunia who likes to wake him up at ungodly hours to cook a massive breakfast for his Uncle Vernon and cousin Dudley as well as start on his chores. He could be woken up to a fly landing on him thanks to her, and because of this he woke up confused as to how the letter got there. It’s the summer between his second and third year of Hogwarts, and he was hoping to sleep as long as he possibly could. He looked around but didn’t see any owls that could have delivered it. His owl Hedwig was with the Weasley family for the summer as his uncle had threatened to kill her the previous summer if he was to bring her back into his house. And as he looked at the window he knew an owl couldn’t have gotten in to leave it for him as it was closed. He looked at the letter and noticed the Gringotts seal on the back. Opening it he read the letter that would end up changing his life.
