Work Text:
They shouldn’t be doing this.
If they get caught, there will be consequences. Vivian will make it out mostly unscathed. She’ll be locked in her chambers for a week, and won’t get a second alone after, but she’ll be fine.
It’ll be worse for Elena. Vivian’s not sure what her father will do if he catches her. Doesn’t know if the punishment will be more or less harsh because she’s a girl.
Vivian hopes they don’t find out.
Despite the fear, they can’t stop sneaking around together. Can’t stop kissing each other.
It started by complete accident.
Their first time hanging out one on one, shortly after introductions, Elena had tripped as she’s wont to do. It was the first time she tripped and accidentally kissed someone thought.
Vivian ought to have been disgusted. She’s certainly disgusted by every man she’s ever met.
But kissing Elena had lifted a veil. Not only the hyper focus that kept her thinking about Arthur long after she’d left Camelot, but the repulsion she’d once had toward romance of any kind has lifted. She feels like she’s been reborn, and now she can’t get enough.
Vivian drags Elena down empty corridors, pushing her against the hard castle walls and kissing her senseless.
Elena takes Vivian on rides through the forest, setting up a picnic blanket for them to roll around on as they make out.
Vivian demands Elena walk her back to her chambers every evening, stealing a kiss before closing the door.
Now they sneak out of the feast, relying on the festivities to keep their fathers distracted, and giggle as they lean against each other, warm from wine and one another’s company.
They can barely make it down a hallway at a time before they’re stopping to laugh into each other’s lips. They’re not being as discrete as they should be, but neither of them cares.
When they finally arrive at Vivian’s chambers, they don’t kiss goodbye. This time Vivian holds Elena’s hand, dragging her inside.
This time when the door closes it’s not separating them, it’s protecting them.
There may be consequences in the morning, but as the two blondes fall into bed together, they can think of nothing except the other’s softness.
