Work Text:
Lightray strips, leaving the gold he straps around his wrists and neck on the grassy ground. Orion is struck, not for the first time, how like the sun he is. It is amplified here on this Earth, in this place with its dappled shade. Lightray's shadow-- if you could call what Lightray casts a shadow-- plays on the water, lure-like. Lightray turns his head, smiling, and that sunshine lands on Orion.
He, as ever, feels he did not deserve it.
Golden Lightray walks nude into the river, the water soon reaching his knees and then his waist. Only then does he turn his whole willowy body to Orion. His reflection glitters. Orion finishes removing his own clothing, placing his helm on the folded bundle that is their garments. He casts a shadow on the water as he walks in to meet Lightray. He is more uncomfortable in the water, but he has never been able to carry himself with the ease Lightray does at times of Rest.
Orion closes his eyes and listens to the sounds of the riverbank. This is a beautiful planet full of life in every corner. There is even life in the river that dares nibble at his and Lightray's toes. He is proud to say he fights for Earth.
It might have been thought that Lightray mistook Orion's contemplation for brooding when he lays his hand on Orion's cheek, had Lightray not known Orion so well. Orion opens his eyes to meet the way light dances in Lightray's and, obligingly, leans down so that Lightray may bring their lips to meet. Orion puts his great hands on the violin dips of Lightray's waist, lifting him slightly out of the water. The fish chase Lightray's shine.
Lightray, strategist, illuminator, leads the kiss. It is his groin that meets the small-clothes Orion still wore. It is Lightray's rod that rubs against Orion's vast member. But it is Orion, wardog, wielder of the Astro Force, who presses back. It is Orion whose grip pulls Lightray closer so he might buck back into him. It is Orion who makes Lightray's rod plump up as his head falls back. And it is Orion who pulls away, dropping Lightray to have him land in the river with a splash.
Lightray's eyes narrow until he sees the upturn on mirth in his lover's lips- something the natural world brought out in Orion even easier than the shining cities of New Genesis. Lightray splashes Orion back, joy filling his own face. Lightray leaps into Orion's arms and Orion allows himself to struggle, falling back with a great wave of water. He finds himself laughing along with Lightray as Lightray throws his arms around Orion's neck.
