It was a peaceful autumn evening in the Noceda’s household, and everyone had just gotten back from clothes shopping. Camilla, with the help of Amity and Vee, had carried all the bags to the basement so that the hexsquad kids could try them on. Camila then went upstairs, and said, “Kids, your new clothes are downstairs!” Everyone then scrambled past her to put them on.
“This is so awesome! My first real human outfit!” Gus said with excitement. Luz chuckles, smiling at him. Hunter leans on the staircase, watching everyone look at their outfits. “Okay guys, you can’t put them on right away! My mom still has to put them in the washing machine.” Willow looks at her with a confused face, “What’s a washing machine?” she asks. “Oh! It’s this machine that cleans the clothes for you, after putting some soap in it!” Gus’s eyes light up with curiosity, “Oh man, that sounds so cool! Luz, can I watch you put the clothes in?” he asks.
“Hah, sure Gus!” Luz replies. She carries all the bags to the washing machine, setting them down beside it. Gus is close behind her. Luz grabs some soap and puts it in the agitator. Gus has been watching this entire time, eyes as big as saucers. “Now all we have to do is put the clothes in, and start the load!” Luz says. She closes the door and presses the start button, the machine rumbling each time the clothes are turned.
“Oh my titan, that’s so cool! I wonder if your mom would be okay with me borrowing this for the Human Appreciation Society!” Gus exclaims. “Well, I’m not sure it would fit through the door, Gus.” Luz replies, “Aw, man!” Gus responds. “Hunter, you gotta come see this!” He says, promptly dragging Hunter to the washer machine, Amity and Luz giggling behind them.

After everyone had their fair share of excitement over the washing machine, they all headed upstairs to the kitchen. Camilla is over in the family room with Vee, digging through their boxes of old dvd’s and vhs tapes. “Oh my…” Camila exclaims, reaching for a specific vhs tape that caught her attention. “What is it, mom?” Luz asks. Camilla leans back out of the box, with a colorful vhs tape in hand. “Luz, when was the last time you’ve seen this?” ‘This,’ in question, is a tape with a dog on top of a pumpkin on the front cover, and a kid on the left side, pointing at said pumpkin. The name “Charlie M. Schools,” had been typed in an orange font at the bottom.
“Oh my gosh, I haven’t seen that in forever!” Luz cries with happiness. “We should totally watch that tonight!” She looks at the calendar to her left, and underlined in bold red is October the 13th: Movie Night. Camila laughs. “Vee, why don’t you bring the vhs tape and put it into the old tv?” she asks. “Sure, Camila!” Vee replies.
Gus and Hunter, intrigued, walk over to the family room and sit down by Vee. Amity and Willow are still in the kitchen, unsure what Luz and Camilla are talking about.
As Vee puts in the old tape, Gus asks, “Is that edible?” Vee pauses, turning around with a puzzled look on her face and says, “…What is that supposed to mean?”
Back in the kitchen, Camilla gets the popcorn seeds out, along with the oil. Luz crouches down near the cabinets and pulls out a big black pot, setting it on top of the oven. Willow points at the popcorn container and asks, “What’s ‘popp-ed-corn’?” “Only the most amazing thing to be created by seeds!” Luz replies with a laugh. Willow however, is still confused. “You can pop the seeds?” She questions with a curious look on her face. “Yes! With enough heat from the stove, they pop into these deliciously crunchy white cloud things!” Luz answers.
“Mom, I placed the pot onto the stove!” Luz says. “Perfect, I can get started on making the popcorn! Don’t worry, you kids are going to love it!” Camilla replies, grinning. “If you say so,” Amity says. “Luz, can you get the pepper and salt from the cabinet?” Camilla asks, while the popcorn starts to pop. “On it!” Luz calls back. “Amity, Willow, why don’t you join the others in the family room? Vee has already put the tape in, so it should be about to start!” Luz’s mom said. “Sounds good, Mrs Noceda!” Willow replies, following Amity into the tv room.

Most of the hexsquad kids are on the couch, with Vee on a bean bag. “Ok everybody, popcorn is ready! Quick Luz, get the big bowl out!” Camilla calls. Luz quickly scrambles to grab the bowl, and her mom pours the popcorn into it soon after. Luz places the pot back onto the stove, as Camilla walks into the family room with a bowl full of popcorn. She sits down on the armchair to the left of the sofa, and puts the bowl onto the coffee table, right in front of the couch.
“Okay, are we ready to start?” Vee asks. “WAIT! I’M NOT IN THERE YET!” Luz yells from the kitchen, hurriedly snatching drinks from the fridge for everybody. “Hurry up, Luz! It’s about to start!” Amity calls. She carefully walks to the tv room, arms completely full of drinks, and places them onto the table. Finally, she sits down, just as Vee hits the play button.
The screen fades to black, then slowly autumn colors come to view. A white dog begins to sniff an orange leaf, as pleasant music starts to play in the background.
