“So, I understand that your living situation is… unique..” The teacher begins. “But did all EIGHT of you need to come to meet the teacher night?” she asks, looking towards them.
As she was sitting at her desk, all eight of Muichiro’s siblings were sitting beside him. Despite their usual attire, they decided to wear very formal clothes, to make a good impression. Well, most of them were making a good impression. As they were all sitting politely in nice, yet appropriate outfits, Tengen and Rengoku were in about the fanciest, flashiest clothes they could. It was no doubt blinding everyone in the room, and by Shinobu’s glares, it was not appreciated.
“We understand that this must be unconventional for you, it is truly important to us that we are all here for Muichiro, and that we can see how he is doing in school.” the butterfly girl politely tells her.
“Yeah! We love our little Ototo!” Mitsuri exclaims with way too much energy for the situation.
“I see…” the teacher mumbles, writing things down in her notebook. The eerie silence remains for a few more moments, before the teacher speaks up again.
“So, who is Tokito’s legal guardian?” she asks. This thickens the mood tenfold, until someone speaks up.
“Well, none of us are. His legal guardian is Ubayashiki.” Gyomei explains.
“Ubayashiki?” she asks.
“Kagaya Ubayashiki. The young man is a millionaire, who got his money from his father, who was a monster of a business man. Ubayashiki was diagnosed with terminal cancer seven years ago, and since then, he has tried to make up for his father’s unethical ways, and has been helping out anyone he comes across. He is also Giyuu’s cousin.” Shinobu tells her, pointing at Tomioka.
“We all met when we were in high school, except Muichiro, and we all had some pretty terrible life conditions. And so, he took us all in. Hell, he’s even some of our legal guardians. Except for Giyuu, that is, he still has Urokodaki. Around seven years ago, Ubayashiki stumbled upon Muichiro in a corrupt orphanage where he was being mistreated for his looks and the way he acts, so he took Muichiro in, and that's where we are now.” she finishes.
Gyomei had once again begun crying, since he does that every time someone told that story, even Mitsuru was tearing up.
“That was a beautiful story. I hate to bring it up, but who will have custody of Tokito once his current guardian unfortunately passes?” she hesitantly asks.
It was clear that she just wanted what was best for the boy, but it was still an awkward conversation.
“We are already in the process. Once the time comes, Shinobu will become his legal guardian, although we will all still take care of him.” Rengoku tells her.
“Alright, well, Muichiro is doing well in class. He has a good grasp on his condition (TO BE REVEALED IN ANOTHER FIC) and he has clearly been working on his attention span. All in all, he is a truly wonderful student, and I hope that he enjoys his time in class.” she smiles at them for the first time that night as she tells them.
“I really like doing origami…” Muichiro mumbles with the first words of the meeting.
“I’m glad!” she tells him. As they all stand up to leave, saying their goodbyes, they know that their little brother is going to be okay when they aren't with him. And if someone dared to hurt him, Sanemi would shoot them with his gun.
