"Wanna watch Mamma Mia together?"
Those were the first words you heard as you stepped in MK's apartment. Avoiding the ruckus on the floor (unfinished drawings, empty wrappers, and- is that a half empty cheese tea bottle? how long has that been there?).
"What?" You asked as you finally completed the most intense game of floor is lava but in reverse you've ever played (pretty sure half of these stuff belong in a chemistry lab and need to be studied for radioactivity). "How do you even know about Mamma Mia? You don't seem like the type to watch those kinds of movies unless Mei forces—I mean inspires you to."
Finally face to face with the owner of this collection of a room, you notice how MK's mindlessly scrolling through his phone on the floor (right next to a banana peel, ew).
"Uh… I don't know. Just… wanted to, I guess. I'm pretty bored right now."
Now, usually you'd believe that. One small problem, that is not how bored MK acts. Usually he's all like "Dudeeee, I'm bored! Let's do somethingggg…", very much unlike the boy(or i guess monkey?) in front of you now.
Weird. Is he feeling less energetic today or something?
"Hm," You hum subconsciously as you think about it. It would make sense, it was a pretty heavy fight all things considered; physically and emotionally. Well, either way, you're here now so you'll make sure MK feels better!
Hopefully.
"Yeah, sure. We can watch Mamma Mia, man. Did you get any snacks or are we doing this raw like our ancestors intended?" You lay down next to him (after removing any junk in the way – you do not want to lay on a half eaten chocolate bar, thank you very much), hands behind your head as you glances at MK's screen. You two would usually use the TV to watch movies whenever you had a sleepover, but MK didn't look like he wanted to get up anytime soon. Maybe later, then.
MK glanced at you as you lay down, but other than relaxing slightly didn't move much. "Ancestors? Do you really think they watched movies without snacks back then?" He questioned, lips slightly curved up at the thought. He didn't even know if it was real or not, but the thought of a bunch of fancy posh people sitting in a dark room in silence as the movie played was quiet funny.
"No clue, if I'm being honest." You replied in mock surrender. "Maybe we can look it up later… If we remember to that is." You nudge MK lightly, grinning accusingly at him.
MK fully smiled as he elbowed you back, spirit slightly lifted. "Hey! I'm the one who constantly forgets stuff! You're the one who wouldn't remember to bring your head with you if it wasn't stuck on your body." He fake grumbled as he pointedly rubbed his side where your elbow had dug in.
"Shut up, that's so not true!" You mock gasped in offense. "This is slander upon my name. You're trying to ruin my reputation because you're jealous aren't you? Tch, tch, tch. Haters these days…" You shook his head slightly with a disappointed tone.
"Oh be quiet, will you?" MK rolled his eyes good naturedly. "I'm starting the first movie now. And you better not spoil this one for me." He accompanied the threat with a flick to your forehead. "I actually want to watch the movie without some rat in my ear whispering all the plot twists to me."
You cried out in disgruntlement. "A guy accidentally spoils the plot of the Avengers: Endgame once—"
"That's once too many!" MK interrupted before you could continue. Knowing you, you'd keep rambling about it for hours and—despite initially only inviting you over because he just really needed someone to be near him at the moment—he actually wanted to watch the movie now. He'd heard Mei talk about it to him whilst he was half zoning out and the small bits he remembers have got him curious.
He ignores the sulking grumble in the background and instead tried to focus on the screen.
Maybe he should invite you whenever he's feeling down more often.
