Chapter 1: The fromgening

Chapter Text

Chains.

The same chains had been holding you in place, restraining you in this dark, wet dungeon for hours on end. You didn't know why you were here.

You wanted to go home.

"Well, well well."

You quickly turned towards the voice, yearning for the stimulation of another person. Anything but this cold nothingness.

Frank Iero sighed in immeasurable dissapointment- and not for the first time.

"Why must you dissapoint me like this…" He said, putting a hand to his face. "Everything you represent is pathetic."

Immediately you were stricken with guilt, regret. A longing to please.

"What did I do wrong…?" You begged. "I only ever wanted to make you happy-"

"Well you failed," he spat with a snarl in his voice, "you fail, it's what you do. It's in your nature, you were built to dissapoint and I can confidently say that's the only thing you're good for."

You sobbed.

hard.

"Please, Frank…."

"No. I'm done. You do NOT get to call me that anymore. CALL ME IERO."

"Please, just tell me what I can do…"

Frank cut through your sentence like a hardened warrior. "There's nothing you can do. Not after you've shown your true colours."

he held out something in his hand.

Small. Fuzzy.

It was a hamster.

Immediately you recoiled in clear disgust- and immediately you wished you hadn't. Frank sneered.

"See? This is the real you. And I don't like it."

"But-" you began- "but it's just a hamster-!"

"IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE HAMSTER!" He shouted and you recoiled once more. "IT WAS ABOUT THE PRINCIPLE!"

"Oh, I disagree."

A mysterious voice penetrated the dingy atmosphere of the dark room, bringing with it fear, and regret, and pain.

The face of Gerard Way presented itself from the shadows.

"It was everything about the hamster."
