Cast

Alana & Julian: The Dating Poets

Poetry lovers, English majors with jobs unrelated to their degrees, and lots of Catholic guilt, Alana and Julian found out they had a lot in common when they first met at the gym. Travelling abroad is a new experience for both of them and an exciting way to test their new relationship.

Alana Karam

• Occupation: Sales Associate
• Dream Vacation? Somewhere not so flat! Maybe Armenia. Oh, I should get a little room with a view of Mt. Ararat. I'd like to go somewhere that would change my like so much that I can write a million poems about it!
• Why The Race? I've never even left the province! I want to finally live my own life, see the world, move out of my parents' house, and actually do something interesting for once.

Julian Balázs

• Age: 22
• Location: Regina, Saskatchewan
• Occupation: Barista
• Dream Vacation? There's this island in the middle of NOWHERE called Tristan da Cunha. It would be so nice to just be away from EVERYTHING for a while. I hope it have it in me to make the big trek though!
• Why The Race? Well, I've been on a competition show before. And I think we all know how that went. This time, I actually need to make it far. I need to win. To show Alana that I can.

Annabelle & Chloe: The Childhood Friends

Annabelle and Chloe are back for more! Childhood friends who met again years later on TV, they were excited to see each other again and work together to dominate their seasons. Finally on the same team, they're here to prove they're a force to be reckoned with, and true rising reality stars.

• Occupation: University Student
• Dream Vacation? I wanna go to South Korea! I heard Itaewon in Seoul is so cool! It's amazing for shopping and food! Oh, and the high speed rail in Korea is awesome! I can see everything and I don't even need a car!
• Why The Race? I was invited after I finished my last show! I already love travelling around my city, so why not navigate the whole world? And I can win a million dollars for it!

Chloe Blair

• Age: 19
• Location: Summerside, Prince Edward Island
• Occupation: University Student
• Dream Vacation? I want to go to Egypt! My grandma went there once and always talks about how I should see the writing on the wall. The Pyramids and Nile are so beautiful! Oh! and I really want to try some feteer!
• Why The Race? So I'm not the first out again! And I'd love to be well-known around the world. I haven't won any shows yet, and I still owe my grandparents. The appearance fees only help so much.

April & Jackie: The Foodies

Toronto is the food capital of Canada, but April and Jackie want to discover what cuisines await around the world. They're passionate about cooking and restaurants, always posting videos and writing blogs about the hidden gems by them. The race is the perfect opportunity for them to build their friendship and follow their biggest interest.

April Oakes

• Location: Toronto, Ontario
• Occupation: Waitress
• Dream Vacation? I'd love to go to Italy on one of those food tours! Try all sorts of pastas and cheeses, but more importantly get to know the chefs and learn how they run things! Oh, and a glass of chianti at the end wouldn't hurt.
• Why The Race? If we win the money, Jackie and I want to open our own restaurant! I'd also give some to my little sister who's about to go to university back home. And of course, I want to try some amazing dishes!

Jackie Blake

• Age: 24
• Location: Toronto, Ontario
• Occupation: Freelance Writer
• Dream Vacation? Singapore all the way! In my opinion, it's the street food capital of the world! So many cultures and dishes on such a small island. I can't wait to go there and sample them all!
• Why The Race?April and I have a decent following on our socials, and our followers were the ones who encouraged us to audition! I want to learn about all the foods of the world so I can become a big food writer.

Dario & Omar: The Polar Opposite Brothers

Dario and Omar have always had little in common. They were close growing up, but even family members drift apart. Omar's been feeling down and distant for years, but Dario saw the show as an opportunity for them to break their tension and bond. And to win the million dollars to help them and their family.

Dario Luna

• Location: Calgary, Alberta
• Occupation: Event Photographer
• Dream Vacation? I love photography, so anywhere I can capture a unique scene! I think maybe India. Big cities full of people, and beautiful nature outside of them. Wherever I go, I know something's happening!
• Why The Race?Things in our family have been hard. Omar is not doing great, out parents are getting old, and money is tight. Winning can turn things around. If not, I hope things between Omar and I get better.

Omar Luna

• Age: 31
• Location: Calgary, Alberta
• Occupation: Training Manager
• Dream Vacation? Brazil. I want to see the beaches and the Amazon. And take a long bus ride between cities. That would be so relaxing. I also used to be good at jiu-jitsu. Maybe I can brush up my skills there.
• Why The Race?I'm 31 and still live at home, I hate my job, and my family is so dysfunctional! I just want a fresh start. Somewhere far and nice. I've been in a hole from years and life just isn't progressing the way I want.

Everett & Zhihao: The Teachers

It's hard being a teacher these days with budget cuts and lower salaries, but Everett and Zhihao are passionate about helping the next generations succeed. With their knowledge in history and languages respectively, they'll use their summer off to win the million dollars and use it to help their students.

Everett Tynes

• Age: 49
• Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
• Occupation: High School History Teacher
• Dream Vacation? I would love to go to Mali So much history in Timbuktu alone! I could teach about it all day. Sometimes I don't want to follow the curriculum and just teach something I find interesting.
• Why The Race? I want to use the prize money to make sure all of the school's students succeed. And to show them they can achieve anything. And to have the best "what did you do this summer" answer ever!

Zhihao Guo

• Age: 47
• Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
• Occupation: High School Language Teacher
• Dream Vacation? Spain! But up in the Basque Country. I already speak Spanish, but Basque is such a challenging language. Completely isolated! And, the best way to learn is by immersion. I try my best to teach like that in my classroom.
• Why The Race? I love teaching. It's sad to see teachers being disrespected and paid so low. I teach French and Mandarin. Some people may not find it important, but everyone should learn to understand the world they're in.

Fabiana & Milena: The Research Scientists

As scientists, Fabiana and Milena live for the pursuit of knowledge. Currently awaiting a grant for a new vaccine study, the two are excited to see and learn about the world. Having met each other right after moving to Canada, they fell in love fast and can now have a proper honeymoon.

Fabiana Rodrigues

• Age: 46
• Location: Montréal, Quebec
• Occupation: Biomedical Research Scientist
• Dream Vacation? Socotra. It's an island off the coast of Yemen. The environment there is very unique, and most of the species there are endemic. It's like being on a whole other planet, yet still here on Earth!
• Why The Race?Only Milena and I have the brains to rule this world! I love her dearly. Also, it's disheartening to see people dismiss science. I wish people would give more attention to the people who give their life to study the world.

Milena Cvetkova

• Age: 43
• Location: Montréal, Quebec
• Occupation: Biomedical Research Scientist
• Dream Vacation? I want to go to Madagascar! I remember learning about it during my studies. It is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth! Sometimes I wish I was an ecologist. There's so many species to study!
• Why The Race?It'll be Fabiana and I's dream honeymoon! We would rather this than to just sit in a hotel. We also want to raise money for the scientific community. Us scientists do a lot for you guys, remember that. We're more than just lab rats!

Gina & Tori: The Reconnected Sisters

Sometimes life pulls people in completely different directions, as Gina and Tori both know. They moved a lot growing up, but after finding their own career paths, have finally grown apart. It's been a long time since they've talked, but they're finally reunited after years to have the adventure of a lifetime they've always wanted.

• Occupation: Personal Trainer
• Dream Vacation? Definitely Namibia. There's a desert with HUGE sand dunes. I know I have the strength to climb them all by myself. And to cool off, I can take a hot air balloon and see them all from above!
• Why The Race? Seeing the casting flyer reminded me of Tori and I's dream of having a big worldwide adventure. We haven't spoken in a long time...Complicated family stuff. But we're here to win! I know we still make a great team.

Tori Yang

• Age: 27
• Location: Brooklyn, United Stated
• Occupation: DJ
• Dream Vacation? I think Germany. Don't they have amazing raves? I mean, the Brooklyn scene is pretty good, but I wanna experience an all new one blind. I have some online DJ friends over there. They could take me to the good ones.
• Why The Race? I was out on Long Island with my boyfriend, and we saw two beauty places with my and Gina's names. And then two days later, Gina called me and wanted to reconnect. She brought up the show in that call and well, we're here.

Hamza & Yasir: Uncle & Nephew

You could say that Hamza is Yasir's favorite uncle. Not even a recent health scare is gonna stop him, it was his idea to audition, after all! Yasir was happy to sign up with him, but he and his mother are both worried about Hamza's sagety. The two of them are here to do something exciting, hopefully worrying more about how to win than another scare.

Hamza Rashid

• Location: Gatineau, Quebec
• Occupation: Restaurant Owner
• Dream Vacation? One of my favorite customers is from Côte d'Ivoire. I went over to his home once and he made a delicious plate of attiéké. And he said the country was beautiful and I have to go! I love my customers.
• Why The Race? Everyone says I'm too old for this. How stupid! I'm gonna win and retire! Pass my restaurant down so I can do what I want now! Ha! Do nothing all day for the first time in fifty years.

Yasir Hilal

• Age: 30
• Location: Gatineau, Quebec
• Occupation: Administrative Coordinator
• Dream Vacation? I want to see Thailand! I heard the people there are so nice. And the nightlife is amazing! Oh, I definitely want to go when it's Songkran. When is it? I think April? But what a great way to beat the heat!
• Why The Race? Khaleh really wanted to. And I was the first person he asked! He had a stroke a while ago and I'm worried about him. But with the prize money, I know he'll be taken care of. One less thing to worry about.

Jasdeep & Luke: The Fated Strangers

It was fate. Two guys checking out their groceries at the same time, seeing the same flyer for the show, both already being reality fans. But that's exactly how Jasdeep and Luke met. Why not audition? It's not like they had anyone else to go with. They're here to show how spontaneous life can be and prove all their doubters wrong.

Jasdeep Kohli

• Occupation: Community Social Worker
• Dream Vacation? I think Australia! I would love to drive across the whole country, it's so big! There's one place I wouldn't miss. It's a small town called Coober Pedy. It's so hot, they have to build their houses underground!
• Why The Race? Why not? I know lots of people in town and I'm surprised I never met Luke. We do similar work, and he's a good dude! We clicked immediately. With the money, I'd buy my parents a nicer house.

Luke Mercier

• Location: London, Ontario
• Occupation: EMT
• Dream Vacation? I really want to see Gabon. There was a very funny season of...Can I even say it here? Anyway, the confessional locations were beautiful! So many wild animals came on camera! I'd love to go.
• Why The Race? I love reality TV and I'm happy one of my favorite shows came back. But my friends didn't want to do it, my boyfriend was busy, and...I don't talk to my family. But Jasdeep and I are gonna make a great team, I can tell!

Kira & Nora: The Volleyball Players

The newest provincial stars out of BC, Kira and Nora train hard every day in hopes of one day making it to the National League. They're here to break through the pressure of stunt casting and win the race on their own merits. They plan to use their physical strength to their advantage and be role models for young athletes.

Kira De León

• Age: 24
• Location: Richmond, British Columbia
• Occupation: Pro Volleyball Player
• Dream Vacation? I wanna go trekking in Kazakhstan. I see so many travel videos about it, it's beautiful! I want to go up the mountains and across the steppe. I'm always by the water, so why not go inland and on top of the world?
• Why The Race? My mom's from Colombia. My dad's from Panama. And I'm from Florida, but got recruited to play in Canada. I'm part of so much of the world already! I want to inspire young athletes no matter where they come from.

Nora Dubinsky

• Age: 22
• Location: Richmond, British Columbia
• Occupation: Pro Volleyball Player
• Dream Vacation? I think Chile. It's so long, there's probably like a million beaches! I'd love to play a whole series of games down the coast! Also Tahiti with the cool black sand beaches. I love the beach, can't you tell?
• Why The Race? Pure stunt casting. Just kidding, but I want to show my fans that they can win anything they set their mind to. And with all the running drills I do, a race around the world will be nothing! Eat my dust!

Kobena & Lisa: The Engaged Influencers

It was the hottest trending topic: lifestyle influencers Kobena Asante and Lisa Quintana are engaged! The couple has amassed a huge social media following documenting their luxurious city life, and the brand deals keep flowing in! They're here to prove they're more than just pretty faces for the camera, but have what it takes to win.

Kobena Asante

• Occupation: Entrepreneur/Influencer
• Dream Vacation? I want to go to Switzerland! I love being active, and I need to go to one of the big ski resorts up in the Alps. And when it gets cold, there's nothing like sharing a cup of hot cocoa with my Lisa.
• Why The Race? I live a busy life. My daily routine is strict, and the show is a great way to discipline myself. Also, why would I pass up the opportunity to travel the world with my darling? I'm so happy we're engaged.

Lisa Quintana

• Age: 27
• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
• Occupation: Social Media Influencer
• Dream Vacation? I need to go to Bora Bora. Those offshore resorts are absolutely stunning! I know my followers want to see us there. It's so nice showing them our lives. I know when we win, it'll be the perfect honeymoon.
• Why The Race? My followers were stoked when Kobena proposed to me! This is our way of eloping and testing the waters of our marriage! And of course, being on TV means a bigger audience! Mwah!

Lee & Wendy: The Cousins

Thick as thieves, cousins Lee and Wendy have been close since they were little. With Wendy moving away for a new job and the two of them knowing they're getting older, they've decided to defy a midlife crisis and accomplish something big together. And get lots of money to put into their retirements.

• Location: Inuvik, Northwest Territories
• Occupation: Physical Therapist
• Dream Vacation? I heard Mexico is really nice this time of year. I hope I can handle the weather. And I've got to try the food! There's so much beauty and history there, I have to see it before I die!
• Why The Race? It's no secret that I'm getting old. But that's not gonna stop me! I properly stretch, I can handle a race around the world. This show is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Wendy and I, and we have to take it!

Wendy Kusugak

• Age: 53
• Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut
• Occupation: Elementary School Teacher
• Dream Vacation? I think I'd do Finland. I would love to go in one of those old fashioned saunas! And there's lots of beautiful nature. I like the cold, I'd go in the winter! I also had a goth phase a while ago. Goth is big there. That was fun.
• Why The Race? The million is gonna go straight into our retirements. I'm gonna enter the second half of my life in style! But Lee and I have always been super resourceful. We've stuck together our whole lives. We're gonna win!

Marilyn & Quinn: The Law Students

Marilyn and Quinn are fresh law students who've already adapted easily in their first year of law school. An intense race around the world should be no problem. With smart and savvy attitudes, they take no objections from anyone, and are willing to do anything to cross the final finish line and claim their prize.

Marilyn Petahtegoose

• Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
• Occupation: Law Student
• Dream Vacation? I've been to Nunavut already, so next I wanna go all the way down south to New Zealand! I wanna go bungee jumping in the big gorge! And I'll go surfing and paragliding and all that. Adventure awaits!
• Why The Race? My boyfriend was on TV! And he made the finals of his season! So, now it's my turn to one-up him! Just kidding. But if I'm gonna pay for school, I might as well get the money from going around the world. There's so much to see!

Quinn Domingo

• Age: 22
• Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
• Occupation: Law Student
• Dream Vacation? My family is from the Philippines, and I've never even been! I want to meet everyone so bad, but my family over here just hasn't had the time. I'd just have to think of gifts to bring everyone.
• Why The Race? Marilyn and I earned our spots in law school. We already know we're smart, but applying it to something like this will be quite the test! I'm also sick of everyone saying we young people are too inexperienced. We know more than you think!

Meredith & Mimi: Grandmother & Granddaughter

It all started when Mimi got a C in French this year. Her family was not happy, and for her punishment, she has to travel around the world with her quirky granny Meredith! She hopes her granddaughter will put in the hard work here that she'll need for college. And to be a little less embarrassed around her.

• Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario
• Occupation: Happily Retired
• Dream Vacation? Oh please, I'm old. I've already been everywhere I wanted to! But if you insist, somewhere I can go that my pension can cover. But I do have a nightmare vacation. The American side of Niagara Falls.
• Why The Race? My granddaughter Mimi needs to learn some responsibility. I saw the casting thing in my Facebook group. Mimi's parents loved the idea! I also want to get to know my granddaughter before she goes off to university.

Mimi Greenidge

• Age: 16
• Location: Toronto, Ontario
• Occupation: High School Student
• Dream Vacation? Am I even gonna be able to travel? In this economy? Actually, hmm. If I actually make lots of money, I think I'd go to Trinidad. My best friend was born there! I wish we could go together as a graduation vacation.
• Why The Race? Mom and Dad found out I got a C in French. It's not even relevant to what I want to major in! They said I need to appreciate the world we live in and work harder. I hate to say this, but they're so right!

Ralph & Sayid: The Postal Workers

As postal workers, Ralph and Sayid know how to endure and be dependable. Feeling unappreciated by lots of their customers and their postal operator, they're here to make a big strike in the race. Recent roommates but fast friends, they're here to win, and neither rain nor snow will stop them.

Ralph Merasty

• Location: Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
• Occupation: Letter Carrier
• Dream Vacation? Mount Everest! Or Mount Kilimanjaro! I'm exposed to the elements on my mail route already. It's prepared me for anything! I can tame any silly old mountain! I'll climb them with my bare hands!
• Why The Race? Because I don't get paid enough! Watch what happens when the mail doesn't go around why don't you! Wait. Think positive. I love meeting the people on my route. I hope I can meet lots of people around the world!

Sayid Khader

• Age: 33
• Location: Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
• Occupation: Letter Carrier
• Dream Vacation? Peru for sure! I wanna hike that big trail to Macchu Picchu. Be at the top of the world! Oh, I think they have Lake Titicaca there too. Isn't that super high up? I hope we go this season!
• Why The Race? Because I don't get paid enough! It's bad enough that I had to move across the country to still be able to work. But I have big and small city experience. I can find my way around any place, and will use my skills to win that prize!

Rosemary & Vince: The Farmer Family

Mother and Son Rosemary and Vince and their family have been on their farm for generations. Buut things aren't so simple over there. Rosemary wants her son to go to college to help modernize the farm, but Vince has other dreams. So, she's taking this summer to give him a chance to travel the world before going back to work.

Rosemary Keane

• Location: Portage la Prairie, Manitoba
• Occupation: Farm Manager
• Dream Vacation? I want to go to Ireland and go around to where my family is from. I wonder if I still have any relatives there. But I wouldn't want to bother them. Imagine knocking on a door and saying you're family. Odd!
• Why The Race? My son and I had an argument about him working on the farm. But he had a fair point, everyone deserves a chance to see new places. After we apologized, he brought up the show and we applied!

Vince Keane

• Age: 19
• Location: Portage la Prairie, Manitoba
• Occupation: Farm Worker...I guess?
• Dream Vacation? New York City. It's the opposite of the farm. So many types of epole, so much going on, so many things to see and do. I've never even been on vacation. If I went there, it would be like one of those movies. Small town guy in a big city.
• Why The Race? I'm gonna have to work on the farm forever, but at least I can see the world one time by being here. And maybe if we win, I can actually move out and do my own thing wihtout worrying about the farm.
