Chapter 1: Hunter

Chapter Text

It was another ordinary day of being an orange colored stick figure.

That was until he heard several knocks on the door along with a familiar voice. "Uncle! It's an emergency!"

At the sound of Purple's panic, he unfolded his legs, dropped the book he was reading and rushed to the door. "Opening!" He exclaimed as he unlocked the door. "What happened?"

Wings still attached to her back, Purple exclaimed, "Orange has been kidnapped by Rocket Corp!"

Rocket Corp?

His lips quivered, almost threatening to pull the corners of his mouth to the ends of his face. He controlled himself so as to not appear demented in front of Purple especially when worry was written on her face. The kid he eventually grew attached to shouldn't have to find herself in more of a panic. Hearing the news of her friend being kidnapped was seen as an opportunity to finally take revenge against the company that messed up his life.

"Let me grab a few things while you calm down a bit." He walked over to his desk. Though no longer in possession of the staff, his daggers and explosives would aid with his combat skills if needed. He may have been moving on from his past but when an opportunity shows up, how could he not wreck havoc?

Items equipped, he walked out of his house and locked the door.

"You're done?" Purple asked, switching one leg to another.

"Yes. Let's get on my bike and save your friend." He hoped his voice barely sounded gleeful as he started the engine of his bike. Purple shouldn't have to know his full past with Rocket Corp. The kid had more than enough on her plate to handle.

It took a bit of time to reach Rocket Corp but the two of them finally arrived.

He took off his helmet, shaking his head at the sight of the grey building. 'victim when I get you…’ He thought as he and Purple stepped into the building. 'You are so going to pay...'

Getting into the building was easy since the two had drank invisibility potions. And it would be easier to find Orange with him throwing the explosives at every wall as the two proceed deeper into the building, ignoring the clones' panic over exploding walls.

He was no longer familiar with the layout of the building but some things remained the same. Eventually, they reached a large room. White glowed from within and in the center was none other than victim and Agent. And some red hollowhead.

The hollowheads and the filled-in hollowhead all turned around to the sight of the wall exploding behind their backs. The red one's black hand dripped and formed a blade. He would want to learn how the black liquid worked. Perhaps he could convince that stick to let him study them. It would be interesting.

victim's question of who intruded in the lab went unanswered as he cracked his neck, preparing to take down the two sticks and get the red hollowhead.

Let them be haunted by their mistakes. Avoiding the red hollowhead’s blades, he hit their neck and watched them collapse. The blades melted and formed back into hands, black ink staining red. He turned over the fainted stick, pouring an invisibility potion into their mouth. What's another crime on his list?

Another explosive went off followed by another until an orange figure emerged from the cage. "Purple!" Orange cried out as she looked around. "Thanks for saving me!"

It was cute to watch the two teenagers be excited about the rescue but it's not over yet. All of them are still in the building.

“The two of you get out of here and leave. I have some personal matters to deal with.” He tied the red hollowhead. Before any of them said anything, he assured them. “I'll be fine. I have enough potions and ender pearls on me.”

Orange shook her head. “You have to get away from those hollowheads. They're dangerous!”

“What danger does this red one possess other than ink control?” He asked, dagger in hand above the red hollowhead.

Orange kept quiet for a while. “Ink control?”

“Turned his black hands into blades.” Purple supplied. “It was kinda cool but scary.”

“He killed me and my friends.” Orange looked up at him. “You have to be careful.”

He was probably signing an unwritten contract to die but he really wanted the two of those kids to be gone so he could unleash his fury without any restraint. God forbid a man to have fun without scaring the kids.

“Stay in the trees then. If I don't come out in half an hour, find me.” He shoved the red hollowhead under a desk. “In the meantime, I'm going on a treasure hunt.”

He wondered if he had yet again scared the kids with the look on his face. Whatever, they left.

With the kids out of the way, a grin—as wide as possible—made its way on his face, crinkling his eyes.

The hunt is on.
