Blanket Fort - Snugglebugs

Summary:

Viva teaches Trollex about blanket forts

Work Text:

“I’m sorry, repeat that?” Viva asked, shaking her head like she was trying to get water out of her ear, “I must have misheard you.”

“I’ve never made a blanket fort?” Trollex repeated.

“What?! How could you never make one?! This is a travesty! A tragedy! A third thing that starts with T!” Viva stood up, putting her hands on her hips, “Get up, cutie pie, we’re making a fort!”

“Okay!” Trollex floated up off the floor, “What do we do first?”

“First we need supplies. It’s time to raid the Putt Putt blanket and pillow supplies.”

Trollex followed Viva’s lead of sneaking around the golf course, stealing pillows, blankets and stuffed animals from everyone’s homes. At one point Trollex collapsed under the sheer weight of all the blankets. Viva had laughed, lifting the blankets off of him and giving him a kiss on the nose.

Once the supplies were acquired, Viva began layering blankets on the floor and overhead on chairs, propping some up with a broom or pillows. She arranged pillows and blankets into a nest underneath their fort, filling it with stuffed animals.

“Alright, cutie pie, get in.”

Trollex crawled underneath the tent, climbing into the pillow nest and curling up next to Viva. She pulled a blanket over them as Trollex tucked his head in the crook of her neck.

“This is cozy.” Trollex said, “I see why these are a big deal.”

“Right? They’re the best, but they’re even better when you have someone special to cuddle up with inside them. Someone like a super cute boyfriend of mine.” She said, pulling Trollex closer.

“Or someone like a really cute girlfriend of mine?” Trollex asked.

“Either of those would be really good.” Viva pressed a kiss to Trollex’s temple.

“So what do we do now that the fort’s been made?”

“Now we get cozy and snuggle up.”

“Sounds perfect.”

Viva closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth of her boyfriend and the fort around them. There was a light frost outside, and Trollex was a lot more susceptible to the cold than she was. She wanted him to stay nice and toasty, so she nuzzled up to him a little more, pulling the thick comforter she had stolen from Clay’s room up over them. Their limbs intertwined and their hearts beat together as one.

She hadn’t realized she had started to drift off to sleep until her front door opened, the sound waking her up. Trollex was curled up into her side, lightly snoring away.

“Viva,” Clay’s voice came from outside her fort, “Care to tell me why a bunch of Trolls reported missing blankets and pillows?”

“I had an important mission,” Viva said with a yawn, “Trollex had never made a blanket fort before. It was very important that I, as his girlfriend, showed him the magic of forts.”

“And you couldn’t have stuck with using your own blankets? I know you have a bunch.” Clay said.

“For the fort to be at max efficiency, I needed as many pillows and blankets as possible. I’ll give them all back, don’t worry.”

Clay sighed, “Fine, I’ll just tell everyone it was important leader business.”

“Thank you, Mr. Clay. Now get out, this is important snuggle time.”

“Alright, alright, I’m going.”

“Yay.” Viva hugged Trollex tighter, drifting back off to sleep.
