Work Text:

“Where is my tie? Have you seen my tie!?” His body scattered around the kitchen like a mad man, his eyes tracing every corner of the interior.

“I have told you..” His wife sighed “ –You should place your things where you’re able to find them.” She berated and her eyebrows furrowed.

“That doesn’t help!” Squeak by Simon “I need it now, instant!”

Eileen groaned, rolling her eyes in response “It’s upstairs, probably lying somewhere in our bedroom.” “Thank you!”

Simon, who almost tripped along the stairs. Ran and rummage in the bedroom like a mad chimpanzee. Jumping on the bed and uncovering the sheets, opening every drawer on the vanity without the bother to close each one, looking under, and spiraling all over.

“It’s not here!” He bolted towards the bathroom and he swore he had never seen such a shiny reflection of himself on these tiled floors. “Oh, wow. Eileen really cleaned it spotless!” He awed. Then jolts awake and he shakes his head “Come on Simon, now this is not the time!”

There comes the entrance of a beast, coming unannounced to Henry’s bedroom. “Tie?” He called out, his head peeking in.

“DAD! WHAT- What the heck?! Get outtttt!!” “ –Language, Henry! Come on, be a good boy and find my tie!”

“Never!”

“Don’t be horrid, Henry!”

“There isn’t any tie here, Dad!” Henry crossed his arms, as he slyly inch closer to cover the ‘something’ behind him.

“Is that my tie? HENRY!!” “NO!! WHY WOULD I WANT YOUR STINKY TIE?!”

“Then what's that you're hiding?”

“None of your business!” Henry’s hand crawled behind him, clutching the item still in his hand.

“Show it or you’re going to be introuble, Mister!” “Ugh! Fine!” Henry then showed a small sketch book full of numbers and sketches, the only thing that Simon understood was the title; Purple Hand Gang.

“Oh..” Simon realized and put a finger over his lips “Sorry, Henry..” He said with a brief nervous chuckle. “Better be! This was supposed to be ‘Top secret’!” Henry blushed in frustration, like a spy that blew his own cover.

“Sorry, sorry then.. I promise to keep it a secret! Promise! I’m just here to find my tie.”

Henry whined “I told you, Dad! I don’t know where your tie is!”

“I know, I know, Hen. Honest mistake, really! So I’ll just go on my merry way. Bye Henry!”

“Bye.”

“Come on, boy! Don’t make me leave feeling guilty! I’m sorry!”

“Yeah, yeah, now go!”

Simon, shown a huge grin on his face, as he closes the door gently.

Then here comes a wolf, storming in to seek the unsuspecting bunnies in Peter’s bedroom. Making the Goldie locks jump in shock.

“AH!” Peter shook out of his mouth “Tie?” Simon painfully calls his suit’s lover.

He pivoted towards his youngest “have you seen my tie, Peter?”

Peter shook his head on the contrary “No, Dad.. Apologies..” “Awh, no It’s all good! No need to apologize! Goodbye then! I’m off to work!”

Simon glides a reassuring smile across his face and Peter waves his farewells to his father.

Simon then closed the door behind him. A prolonged sigh escaping his lips, looking over to his side with a subtle frown in exchange.

He puts his palm on his forehead

“Oh.. I’m late..”

“SIMON! I FOUND YOUR TIE!” Eileen shouted downstairs.

Soggy footsteps followed, and the uneasy feeling wiggled inside.

“Ohhh..” He pitifully groaned and his eyes wrinkled.

He saw his wife downstairs with a hand on her hip and the tie on the other.

He glances to his right. A beige apron lying on the chair’s perch. Simon gulps down his guilt aside and his fingers clamp down onto the apron

“You’ve done so much today, Dear, I'm proud of you..” Dejected as he is, he wondered how his wife even manages to adapt to him, even as a worm with a midlife crisis.

He grabs the tie from her and drapes it over his shoulder. His eyes kept a gaze onto her and he looped the apron on her neck.

“The bathroom is so clean, how’d you manage it? I couldn’t even get the stain in the sink.” Eileen sighs softly “Mommy powers, I guess..” Simon cheekily laughed along.

His glance loomed down her back and held the strings attached to the apron with his fingers. Fumbling for a moment to fidget on its material. He ties both of the strings together, adding a neat bow on her back. She, on the other hand, held and lifted her strands of hair to keep away from the apron’s grasp.

Eileen turns around, Simon hugging her waist. She holds onto the silky long fabric that is the tie, and stretches her arms weighing over his shoulder. Looping the tie on his neck, adjusting his collar to peak out.

“There..” She whispered, tracing her finger tips on his blazer.

“You look phenomenal..” “You too..”

“Shut it, Simon, I haven’t even showered yet!” She laughed out and playfully pushed his shoulder.

“So? You still look incredible, even if you're stinky.”

“Ugh, shut it and go to work.”

“No rush, no rush.” “ – What do you mean ‘No rush’? You’ve been going nuts this morning!”

“Eh, now that I’ve thought of it, It’s not that important but it's still important.”

He steps closer to Eileen and gives her a peck on her lips. “ – I love you, I'll go now.. See you~” Eileen smirks and scoffs, waving her hand for him to go before he’d be scolded for his tardiness.

The panic finally subsided. Turns out he was approximately 20 minutes early! He guesses the quick montage of him drenching himself with intense panic mode made him quicker than he thought!

He dances happily, turning the key in his car.

“SIMON!!” Eileen screeched, prying their bedroom window open.

“Oh no.. The mess in the...”
He pinched his nose and mumurs “Bedroom…”
