There she was. The pink tornado. The literal definition of energy. The pink hurricane. And it was rapidly approaching towards Nene.

The songstress braced for impact.

"GOOD WONDERHOY!!!" yelled Emu Otori as she ran to the Wonder Stage. She immediately saw her girlfriend, Nene Kusanagi, and tackled her with a hug. Her signature move.

"NENEE-CHANNN!" she yelled, tackling Nene.

"AGHHH! EMU!!" Nene screamed while Emu jumped on her.

Despite bracing for impact thirty seconds before the collision, the poor songstress didn't have enough core strength to catch the dreamer, so when Emu tackled Nene to give her a hug like always, the two girls both came toppling to the ground.

"Eheheh, good wonderhoy, Nene-chan!"

Nene couldn't be mad at Emu anymore whenever she saw her smile. Damn her for dating the most happiest, loving, girlfriend in the world.

"Hello, Emu." she replied with a smile.

Emu got off her girlfriend, and gave her a hand to help her up. Nene took her hand and got up, and found it was extremely warm.

"Eek! Nene-chan, your hand is so cold!" Emu exclaimed, while jumping. Nene giggled at the comment.

"And yours are warm. Did you put them in a fire before you got here?" Nene teased.

Emu giggled, and lifted her girlfriend's hand and kissed it.

Normally, the songstress hated physical touch and avoided PDA like it was poison, but she would sometimes let it slide, especially if it was Emu.

She felt all warm inside, like how she always felt when she was with Emu.

They then heard sniffling and fake sobbing about 3 feet away.

"Oh, Tsukasa-kun, they grow up so fast," Rui dramatically said, with fake tears welling in his eyes.

"Can you believe it? It feels like we just met yesterday..." Replied Tsukasa, fake tears streaming down his face.

Nene then let go of Emu’s hand, giving the two boys the middle finger, and Rui and Tsukasa returned the gesture. Emu clearly had a question mark above her head, and Nene explained it was a inside joke, while Rui and Tsukasa were taking pictures of the songstress and dreamer.

Nene rolled her eyes at Tsukasa and Rui, while Emu giggled beside her. Tsukasa then announced that it was time to practice, and they all got on the Wonder Stage. Emu then grabbed Nene’s hand to hold it, and she let her.

"So! Christmas is in 2 weeks! We should prepare a holiday show!" Tsukasa announced. Nene was sitting on the floor with Emu, still holding her hand,

"So let's put on a sparkly, wonderhoy, fun, fun show!☆" Exclaimed Emu with a huge smile on her face.

"I agree with Emu-kun, let's make this our best one yet!" Replied Rui.

Nene smiled and nodded. Words were too much for her as of now, so she stayed silent.

"Oh! We should also perform a song, too! Like Nijiiro Stories!" yelled Emu.

"But doesn't Rui and Nene sing that? What about us?" replied Tsukasa.

"Then uhh... we should do... Your Adventure Log Has Vanished!" she replied happily.

"Well, it's not very Christmas themed, but I think we should do it if Nene and Rui also agree."

Rui then spoke up. "I think we should do it. Nijiiro Stories is what helped Nene get over her fear of singing in public." replied Rui.

"Alright! So, what do you think, Nene?" asked Tsukasa.

Three pairs of eyes fell on her. Emu, who was still holding her hand, gave her a reassuring squeeze.

Nene took a deep breath.

"Okay. Let's do it."

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

They talked for a good hour about the show, with Tsukasa writing scripts, Rui sketching costume designs on his sketchbook, and Nene and Emu still holding hands, laying on the ground, giving ideas for the script and design ideas for costumes.

They also decided that the show would be about how a girl is stuck on a train heading home for Christmas, and the adventures she had on the way home.

Naturally, everyone decided Nene would be the lead.

Now, she was walking back home with Emu in the freezing, cold, weather. A gust of wind blew in her face, instantly making her shiver.

"Nene-chan? Do you want my hoodie?" Asked Emu, with a hint of concern in her tone.

"Huh? Oh! I'll be fine, Emu. I don't want you to be cold." Nene replied.

She then gave her girlfriend a smile, and tried not to visibly shiver, but failed.

Emu then took off her hoodie and gave it to Nene.

Nene sighed. Defeated, she took the hoodie from Emu’s hands and put on the hoodie.

Although the dreamer was four centimeters shorter than the songstress, the hoodie fit her perfectly, and was extremely warm.

She was no longer shivering, and she felt extremely warm inside. Even in her heart.

She really loved Emu, didn’t she?

"Thank you, Emu."

"Eheheh, no problem, Nene-chan!" She then hugged her girlfriend, and Nene hugged her back.

When they got to Nene's house, Nene took off the hoodie and handed it to Emu, but Emu shook her head handed it back to her.

“Eh? Emu? Don’t you want your hoodie back?” asked Nene.

Emu shook her head with a smile on her face. "You can keep it for now. I don't mind!" It makes my heart all warm and fuzzy whenever you borrow my stuff or wear my clothes!

Nene smiled. "A-ah. Thank you, Emu."

"No problem, Nene-chan! I have to go home now, so i'll text you when I get home!"

"Alright. Bye, Emu." Nene called.

"Bye, Nene-chan!"

Nene watched as Emu's figure got smaller and smaller until she disappeared into the distance before finally going inside.

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

Nene hated to admit it, but she was touch starved. Just a bit.

Or maybe that she just wanted an excuse for her girlfriend to come over and have a sleepover.

It was kind of weird, as the songstress could go for weeks, even months without physical touch, but now she was the tiniest bit touch starved.

Either that or she wanted comfort on this gray, gloomy, cold, day in December.

She had to admit, it was depressing, but still didn't explain why she felt like shit.

Emu was at her aunt's house. She couldn't come. Tsukasa was helping his parents and sister at home.

She looked out her window and saw Rui's silhouette shuffling around in his room. Nene sent him a text, and laid on the floor. In 3 seconds, Rui was already inside her house. When they were little, they just barged in like they lived in each other's houses. Rui then walked up the stairs to Nene’s room, and saw a moping Nene lying on the ground. He then put the pieces together and understood what was happening, and went to her closet and fished out a hoodie and threw it at her face.

"Thanks," mumbled Nene.

"No problem. Need a hug?" asked Rui.

Physical touch sounded like a sensory nightmare at the minute, but she was also kind of detached to reality, so...

"Right after I get this on."

She then put on the hoodie and scooted closer to the director, who then put his arms around the songstress, and kept his arms around her until she pulled away.

"Feel any better?" he asked.

"A bit. Still feel like shit, though."

Rui nodded and sat still with Nene.

"Wanna go over the costume designs?" asked Rui.

Nene nodded, and Rui pulled out a sketchbook from his backpack, which Nene didn’t notice he had until now.

It was nice of Rui to mention the costumes, though. it helped her focus on whatever they were doing and helped her stay grounded, and Rui knew that. Perks of having a childhood best friend.

They planned Nene's costume for the show, and he was surprisingly good at drawing. Last time she saw him draw, when they were younger, he drew what was supposed to be a tiger, but looked like an obese bunny and Nene couldn’t stop laughing, while Rui complained and balled it up and threw the crumpled up picture at Nene. Nene concluded that he got better after sketching blueprints to design robots.

“We haven’t done this in a while.” Rui spoke as he continued to sketch her costume.

Nene nodded. “Well, it’s probably because we’ve had less problems since we met Emu and Tsukasa. How have your classmates been, Rui?” she asked.

Rui’s eyes visibly lit up and he smiled. “No problems at all. Since I met Tsukasa-kun and started hanging out around him more, people started to think i’m not as crazy as they thought I was.”

Nene smiled. “I’m glad.”

“And how about you, Nene? How are your classmates?” he asked.

“I still don’t really talk to them. But Shinonome-kun and Shiraishi-san are really nice to me and understand that I need time to get used to people. I think Emu really helped with my social anxiety overall.” she replied, still looking over Rui’s shoulder to watch him sketch costumes.

“I’m glad.” Rui replied with a smile, and looked up from sketching in his sketchbook and looked at Nene.

The two continued to sit in silence as Rui finished to sketch the costume on his sketchbook.

Rui finished sketching out the costume design while Nene watched, and proudly held it up to show Nene so she could get a better look.

"What do you think, Nene?" he asked, with a comforting smile on his face.

The sketch was very in detail, and Nene could spot all the details. It had notes scribbled on the paper, for Tsukasa when he designed the costumes. It was perfect, and matched the theme of the show perfectly.

"I love it. Thanks, Rui." she said with a smile.

"No problem. I'll have to show Tsukasa-kun next time we meet, so he can make it." He replied, putting the pencil back on Nene’s desk and closing the sketchbook shut.

Nene nodded. Tsukasa was the troupe's costume maker, as he had years worth of practice because he made costumes all the time for his shows to perform for his little sister, Saki when they were little and she was sick in the hospital. His costumes were very well made, and he even made his unit outfit. Everyone would always make jokes calling him mom and housewife.

A little while later, both the songstress and inventor were laying down on the floor, with the sketchbook tossed aside carelessly, and they were both mindlessly scrolling through TikTok. Nene’s phone then went off, meaning she received a message. She then looked at the notification and saw it was from Emu. Her eyes visibly lit up, and Rui looked over at her and smiled.

emu <3: nene-chan, i'm back home!

nene kusanagi: how was it?

emu <3: it was fine, but I missed you :c can you come over?

nene kusanagi: i missed you too, emu. I probably have to ask if I can come over.

"Are you talking to Emu-kun again?" asked Rui.

"Huh? How did you know?"

"Your smiling, and shes the only person you will respond to quickly."

Nene sighed and put her phone down, and covered her face with her hands.

"She just makes me so happy and I feel so warm and happy inside-"

"If this turns into an hour yap session about Emu-kun, I will leave right now." he interrupted.

Nene grabbed the nearest plushie and threw it at Rui, who attempted to dodge it, but failed.

"Please, you talk about Tsukasa all the time, no matter how much I complain." she retorted.

“But he’s-“

Rui was then cut off and was met with another plushie being thrown at his face.

“Hey- Nene!” he yelled.

The were then in a back to back war throwing plushies at each other to try to hit each other.

After a while, Rui's mom texted him to come home for dinner, so he bid Nene goodnight and went home and good luck with her date with Emu. Nene texted her parents for permission to go to Emu's.

nene kusanagi: can I go to emu's

mom: how long are you going to be at her house?

nene kusanagi: the whole night

nene kusanagi: is it okay

dad: as long as you've finished your homework

nene kusanagi: thanks

Nene then packed her school bag, throwing her uniform inside. She then tidied up her room a bit, which had plushies thrown all over the floor, and headed to the train station. It was about a ten minute walk to the station, so she listened to some music on the way, choosing a playlist that Emu made for her.

When she approached the train station, she scanned her train pass and got on the train. She logged onto a game to pass the time, since the train ride was about 15 minutes. She listened to more music, and checked some DMs from Nightcord, until the intercom called that her stop was next. Nene then shut off her phone and stuffed it back into her pocket.

After the train stopped, she got off the train and headed to Emu's house, about a five minute walk. As she approached her house, she still couldn't get used to the fact Emu's family was rich and she lived in a gigantic mansion.

She rang the doorbell, and Emu's sister, Hinata, answered the door.

"Oh! Hello, Kusanagi-san. Emu is waiting for you in her room." she said with a comforting tone and a warm smile.

"Thanks, Hinata-san." she replied with a smile as well, and went inside and treaded up the stairs to Emu's room. The door was closed, so she knocked on it.

"Emu? It's me."

"Oh! NENE-CHANNNNN!" She yelled, and quickly opened the door and jumped into her girlfriend's arms.

"AHHH!" Nene yelled as she fell over backwards, but luckily caught the railing behind her.

"Ehehe, sorry, Nene-chan. I just can't help hugging you whenever I hear your sparkly voice!" she apologized.

Nene’s heart melted when she saw her girlfriend. "That's okay, Emu. What do you want to do?" Nene asked.

“Hmmm, Oh! Can we make bracelets?” Emu asked happily. “I got new beads!”

“Sure, we can make bracelets.” Nene replied with a soft smile.

“YAYY!” Emu yelled.

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

Nene then found herself stringing mint green and light blue beads on string. The colors clashed well together, and she was planning on giving it to Emu after she was done.

“Nene-chan, Nene-chan!” Emu called out. “Hold out your arm and cover your eyes! I have a surprise for you!

Nene then did what she was told, covering her eyes and holding out her hand for Emu.

“No peaking!” Emu called, as she tied something around Nene’s wrist. “Aaand done! You can look now!”

Nene then looked down, and saw a bracelet, strung with light green beads and pink beads, with a singular letter bead that had an E on it. She looked over at Emu, who was showing Nene her wrist, with a similar bracelet, except the letter bead was replaced with an N.

“Look Nene-chan! We’re matching now!” she spoke happily.

“Emu…”

“Eh? What’s wrong, Nene-chan? Do you not like it?” she asked.

“No, I love it. It’s just…”

“What, Nene-chan?”

“I’m really glad I heard you and Tsukasa out.”

“And I’m glad you joined us, Nene-chan!” Emu replied while throwing herself in Nene’s arms.

Nene wrapped her arms around the dreamer.

After a while, Nene finished up her bracelet and toed it around Emu’s wrist.

“WAHHHH! NENE-CHAAANN! I LOVE IT!! IT’S SOOO PRETTY!” she tackled Nene into the hug.

“Ack, Emu!”

“I love you, Nene-chan!”

“Huh? Emu, where is this coming from?”

“I just really wanted to say it!”

“…I love you too, Emu.”

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

The next day, Nene was back at the Wonder Stage, about to practice for their Christmas show, but had to wait for Rui and Emu, so she was talking to Tsukasa.

“So for this line,” spoke Tsukasa. “I think we should-“

“NE-NE-CHAANNN!”

Oh no.

This time, the songstress had about 3 seconds to brace for impact, but by the time she did, Emu came crashing down on her, and they hit the ground while Tsukasa watched them, trying not to laugh out loud. When Emu got up and gave her hand to Nene to help her up, Nene winced.

“OH NO!!! NENE-CHAN, DID I HURT YOU?? IM SORRY!!”

Nene shook her head. “No, you didn’t hurt me Emu. I’m fine. I just hit my hand on a table leaving school today.” she assured.

“Oh. Okay!” Emu replied, wrapping her arms around Nene.

Nene paused for a second, and then wrapped her arms around the shorter girl.

When Rui finally showed up, he and Tsukasa talked for a while, and kissed each other. Nene then pretended to gag at the sight while Emu told her to be nice to them, as usual. Nene then didn’t complain. When they did finally start practice, as usual, they were all doing their different things plus chaos.

A lot of chaos.

They were Wonderlands x Showtime, after all. What else could you expect?

“Fufu, Tsukasa-kun, can I-“

“No! Absolutely not! I can’t be a star if I’m dead!”

Nene, who was reading over her script, snorted. “You will be one if Rui keeps testing shit on you.”

Emu lightly hit Nene on the arm. “Nene-chan, be nice! Rui-kun’s inventions are cool and safe!”

Tsukasa sighed dramatically. “Guys, can we start practicing?”

Everyone looked up from what they were doing and nodded.

After a while, Rui cleared his throat and started speaking.

“Once upon a time, in a far away land, A little girl, named Nagisa, was on a train, riding home to her family for Christmas.”

Nene got into character and sighed. “What a long day… surely I’ll be home soon…”

Rui started narrating again. “Then, all of a sudden, the train stopped moving and broke down!”

The lights to the Wonder Stage started flickering, and Nene jumped.

“Ah! Whats going on?! Is the train broken?”

Robo-Nene then started speaking. “Attention passengers, due to weather conditions, the train’s engine couldn’t handle the cold and has broken down. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we are working on it right away.”

Rui started to narrate again. “Then, Nagisa heard knocking on her window.”

“Ah!” Nene screamed. “What was that?”

Emu then appeared on stage, with wings on her back. “Good wonderhoy! Is everything okay? I was flying and I saw the train just sitting here on the middle of the track!”

Nene started talking again. “Ah, I… The train broke down. I’m on my way back to my family, but I don’t think I’ll make it home on time.”

“That’s okay! Would you like to talk?” Emu replied happily.

“Sure…” she replied.

They then rehearsed their entire play with little to no mistakes, and then got to the end of the play.

“And that’s the end!” announced Rui. “Great work, everyone. Take a quick break, and if you guys want, we could work on our songs?”

Everyone replied with a yes and nodded their heads, and after a short break, they called Meiko and Kaito so they could perform Nijiiro Stories with Nene and Rui.

“Hello everyone!” called Meiko. “I heard we’re performing Nijiiro Stories, yes?”

“Yup!” replied Tsukasa. “After that, can you and Kaito get Rin and Len so me and Emu can perform Your Adventure Log Has Vanished?” he asked.

“Of course!” Replied Kaito with a smile. “Ready everyone?”

Everyone nodded, and Emu turned on her phone, connected it to the speakers of the Wonder Stage, and cued the music for Nijiiro Stories.

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

The day had finally come. The main event. The big show.

Officially Wonderlands x Showtime’s second Christmas together.

Nene couldn’t believe how much they’ve grown and improved since last year. Their first Christmas together as a group truly felt like yesterday.

Now, everyone was running around backstage, Tsukasa quietly repeating his lines, Emu fixing her costume, Nene, fixing her hair, and Rui, doing a triple check to making sure none of the lights would explode during the show.

It was always chaos when there were 10 minutes before the curtains opened.

After a while, when there were five minutes left before the curtains opened, Nene stepped outside to greet the audience and explain the rules and so. She would always get nervous, so usually someone would accompany her while she did it. This time, Emu was accompanying her.

She stepped out on the stage, and she yelled to get the audience’s attention.

“G-Good evening!” she called.

The chattering died down and the entire audience was looking at her.

Emu could obviously tell Nene was nervous, so she grabbed Nene’s hand and squeezed it. Nene mentally thanked her. Her heart felt warm.

“Thank you for coming today. We will begin shortly. With that, please keep a few things in mind. One, please keep your phones on silent. Two, please be aware of your surroundings. If you want to record the show, please do not block other people’s view, especially our younger ones. Three, please no smoking. This is a smoke free park, and it is a fire hazard, especially with the trees and bushes around our stage. With that, please hold as the show will start soon. Thank you for coming!”

The audience clapped, and the two retreated backstage.

Nene breathed a sigh of relief.

She hugged Emu, whispering a thank you, while Tsukasa gave her two thumbs up and Rui giving her a smile and mouthed good job.

When Rui and Nene had to go on the stage to begin the show immediately when the curtains rose, Emu stopped Nene before she stepped on stage and gave her a tight hug.

“Good luck, Nene-chan!” she whispered. “I know you’ll do amazing and sing all sparkly sparkly after!”

Nene smiled, and wrapped her arms around the dreamer. “Thanks, Emu. I know you’ll do amazing too.”

Nene then pulled away, The warmth still lingering in her body, and stepped on the stage.

After a few minutes, the curtains rose and the show went on without a hitch.

Rui then started speaking.

“Once upon a time…”

Nene then took a deep breath and said her first lines of the show.

Soon enough, Nene said her last lines for the play, and the curtains fell. They all went back on stage for the final bow, and the audience roared. Tsukasa and Emu then went back backstage, and Nene and Rui stayed on stage so them and Meiko and Kaito could sing Nijiiro Stories.

“May I have everyone’s attention, please?” yelled Rui.

The audience looked back up at the stage.

“Thank you again for coming tonight. We hoped you enjoyed tonight’s performance. Because it is Christmas, we have prepared a special performance just for today. Please enjoy our song, Nijiiro Stories!”

The audience clapped, and Rui took out his phone to get Meiko and Kaito.

“Meiko-san, Kaito-san, you can come out now. We need to perform.”

“Alright!” replied Kaito as he and Meiko appeared out of the phone. “Ready, Meiko?”

“Yup!” She replied enthusiastically. “Ready, everyone?” she asked.

“Yes!” Everyone replied.

Rui then put his phone down so he could do the choreo, and the audience could get a clear view of the two vocaloids.

Everyone on the stage and Emu and Tsukasa backstage prayed that people in the audience and around the park would assume that Meiko, Kaito, and later, Rin and Len were just holograms. Who knows what kind of chaos would erupt if people found out about their Sekai.

The music to Nijiiro Stories started playing, and Nene felt a hint of nervousness. She took a deep breath, and then Nene sang the first lines, followed by Rui, then Kaito, then she sang again, followed by Meiko, then Rui then Kaito again, and then Nene sang again, then everyone sang. Everyone sang their heart out the entire time, with smiles plastered on their faces. As they all sang the last lines of the song, the audience clapped, and they all bowed. They then thanked the audience, and went backstage while Emu and Tsukasa came out on stage.

“GOOD EVENING WONDERHOYY!!” Emu yelled. “We hope you enjoyed tonight’s performance so far! We have one last song for you!”

“Please enjoy Your Adventure Log Has Vanished!” added Tsukasa.

“Rin, Len, you guys can come out now!” he called.

“Hi Emu-chan, Tsukasa-kun!” Rin said as she appeared out of Tsukasa’s phone.

“Your Adventure Log Has Vanished, right?” Len confirmed.

“Yup!” Emu replied.

As the intro to Your Adventure Log Has Vanished played, everyone had a smile on their face, even Nene and Rui backstage. They also sang their hearts out, having fun the entire time. As they all sang the last lines and the song ended, the audience went wild. As Rin and Len disappeared back into Tsukasa’s phone, Emu and Tsukasa held hands and bowed. They both looked backstage and gestured Nene and Rui to come on stage to do the last bow, they both came out. Nene and Rui stepped back on stage, and with one hand, she grabbed Emu’s hand, and in the other, Rui’s hand, and they all bowed.

“Thank you for coming tonight!” yelled Tsukasa.

“We hope to see you again soon!” added Emu.

They all bowed one last time, and left the stage to go backstage. Immediately, they all broke character, With Tsukasa jumping into Rui’s arms, as Rui kissed Tsukasa’s forehead, and Emu jumping into Nene’s arms and gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was one of the rare occasion where she kissed Emu back.

“Well, that’s a wrap. What do you guys want to do?” asked Tsukasa.

“Can we all go to my house for a sleepover?” asked Emu.

“I don’t see why not.” replied Tsukasa.

“Alright then, let’s go!” replied Rui.

The four all packed up their bags, shoving papers and sketches and scripts inside. They then cleaned up the stage, Rui resetting the lighting, Nene cleaning up the makeup, Emu moving the speakers, and Tsukasa cleaning up sewing supplies from him adding last minute designs. After cleaning, they all went to the changing rooms to change out of their costumes, and started to head to Emu’s house.

⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆

The four all arrived at Emu’s house, and they all greeted her family, and all went upstairs to her room.

“So! What do you guys want to do?” asked Emu.

“…Can we all play Mario Kart?” asked Nene.

“Sure!” they all replied.

Sure enough, as usual, the game of Mario Kart had turned into chaos. After all, they were Wonderlands x Showtime, so they were always chaotic.

“HAHAHAH! IM GOING TO BEAT YOU NENE!” He yelled as he passed by Nene’s cart in the game. “IM IN FIRST! WHAT THE HELL?” he yelled, after getting hit with a blue shell.

“Take that, Tsukass.” Nene replied, with a smile on her face while surpassing Tsukasa in the game.

“Nene-chan, be nice!” Emu said as she lightly hit Nene’s arm, and drove off the ledge of the map because she wasn’t paying attention.

“Oh look!” Rui called out. “I have a red shell and conveniently Tsukasa-kun is in front of me!” he then added with his signature cat like grin.

“RUI! DON’T YOU DARE!” Tsukasa yelled angrily, attempting to overtake Nene in the process.

“Oops, too late.”

“RUI!! YOUR LUCKY I LOVE YOU!!” he yelled

Emu and Nene laughed at the two boys bickering over the game. After the game ended and everyone passed the finish line, with Nene in first, Rui in 2nd, Emu in fourth, and Tsukasa in seventh, the silly argument then randomly turned into whether cereal was a soup or not, for some stupid reason.

“IT IS SOUP!” yelled Tsukasa.

“It is not!” yelled Rui, while laughing.

Nene and Emu were giggling at the boy’s stupidity, trying to stifle their giggling as Emu’s parents and siblings were asleep. Nene wouldn’t be surprised if they were already awake, as Tsukasa’s yelling was surely waking up everyone in the house and probably their neighbors.

Their silly argument got interrupted when Emu’s sister, Hinata, with a sleepy expression, came in and told all of them to be quiet and go to bed.

Nene and Emu moved the spare mattress that Emu always kept in her closet next to her bed so Rui and Tsukasa could sleep, while Nene slept with Emu on her bed. As the four stopped talking and all eventually fell asleep, Nene was the only one awake, with Emu dozing off in her arms as Nene held her close, and Emu holding her waist and burying her head into her chest. Nene found it very adorable. She then looked over at the two boys, asleep on the mattress, and saw them both tangled up in each other’s limbs, Rui holding Tsukasa’s waist and Tsukasa burying his head into Rui’s chest.

“Nene-chan?” Emu asked, voice thick with sleepiness.

“Hm? What is it Emu?” Nene replied softly and quietly, not wanting to startle Emu awake.

“I’m so glad I met you. I love you, Nene-chan.” Emu replied sleepily, kissing Nene’s face.

Nene then felt warm inside, kissing the top of Emu’s forehead. “I love you too, Emu.”

She then heard Emu’s breathing even, her chest rising slowly, signaling that the dreamer fell asleep. She then pulled the comforter over the two of them, and was left alone with quiet snores around the entire room. She felt herself slowly dozing off, repeating the last words she said to Emu before she fell asleep.

“I love you too, Emu.”

As she looked out the window, she saw a streetlight, gently lighting up the ground, and then realized that the ground was beginning to be blanketed by white, fluffy, snow. She sighed, and closed her eyes, and kissed Emu’s forehead again.

“I love you, Emu. Sweet dreams.”
