What Happens When the Reign Comes Down?

Summary:

1x1x1x1 has just killed off their creator, a threat that now shakes all the Admins to their very core. Now, they seek to corrupt every last one of them and bend them all under their control. But, to do that, they'll need some help...

*-.-*-.-*-.-*

007n7 and Noli are completely bored at the former's house when they find a package at the door. Opening it leads to something they think will be fun...

Notes:

This takes place when 1x1x1x1 is only halfway corrupted, and the Hacker Duo haven't even thought about stealing the Void Star yet. It's in progress, and updates are inconsistent. Noli doesn't have a cult yet.

Chapter 1: The Snakes and the Skeleton

Chapter Text

007n7 and Noli sat on the couch, staring at their TV as it chattered with its incessant noise.

The two hackers had been having an extremely uneventful day. They had gotten used to the same old tricks they would play on everyone, and now they were bored with their own power.

“Set fire to the pizza place?” Noli suggested out of the blue.

“They’ll have to stop rebuilding sometime,” 7n7 countered, “and then where will we get our pizza?”

“Well, what about destroying an obby and making it impossible?”

“We’ve done that, what, five times already? It’s not as fun anymore.”

“What about causing a ruckus at a library?”

“What are you, twelve?”

“Look,” Noli finally said, exasperated, “I’m just trying to find some good ideas. I’m so bored.

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” 7n7 sighed, sitting up and pinching his nose bridge. “Where’s somewhere we haven’t hacked yet?”

The oddly-colored hacker looked through his thoughts. “There’s that one place… What’s it called? ‘Korra’s… something or another?’”

“That place has some of the most intense security you’ve ever seen. Reportings everywhere.

“So it’s a challenge?” Noli asked, grinning.

7n7 did the same, thinking. “The most insane prank we’d ever pull. We’d have to do some intense planning, but we’d be the hackers of the century. But what would we even do there?”

“I’ve heard that Korra girl has some insane moolah,” Noli stated, rubbing his fingers together. “We get in, get her info, get out. Then, we get rich.

7n7 squinted at him. “‘Moolah?’ Are you five?”

Noli scoffed in mock offense. “If a five year old could hack into the most secure server ever, then yes.”

The devilish hacker rolled his eyes, smiling. “Well, we better start planning now, then.”

The purple hacker leaped up excitedly. “Absolutely!” 7n7 got up, and they went to the door, Noli practically sprinting. “Man, this is gonna be a huge blow to the Admin’s faces–”

As he opened the door, the two noticed a small package at the door. There was sloppy writing on the top of the box:

“To the Infamous Hackers”

They looked at the box, then at each other.

“Okayyyy,” Noli said as 7n7 picked up the package. “That’s not weird at all.”

“No mailing address,” the brunette observed, turning the box all around. “And the writing looks like how you wrote in high school.”

“Hey, my writing wasn’t that bad!” Noli defended.

7n7 rolled his eyes as he kicked the door closed going inside. He placed the package on the coffee table.

“Why would someone send something to us, anyway?” the purple hacker wondered aloud. “How did they even find us?”

“Whoever it was, I can’t help but wonder if this is important…”

“Uh-huh, sureee,” Noli said. “Just trust a random package left on your doorstep. Perfect plan, dude.”

7n7, although hesitantly, began to open the box. Noli blinked.

“Bro. I was being sarcastic.”

Inside the box was a USB drive and a letter. The two stared at the items for a few moments, before 7n7 reached for the letter and opened it.

“Hello. I write this anonymously so as to not attract attention from any Admins. This was sent to you as an offer. I understand you may be intimidated by my knowledge of your whereabouts and I can assure you that I did so very discreetly. No one but me knows where you are right now.

“As of recently, you and I are on the same side. I understand that you both commit atrocities in Robloxia for fun, and that the Admins are chasing you down. I wish to… remove them for you.

“On the USB are coordinates to my location. They are directly attached to me, and will change depending where I am. Plug them into your hacking devices and I’ll give you the ability to do all the hacking you desire, uninterrupted. Your new partner in crime, The Skeleton’s Heir.”

Noli, who was observing the USB, blinked at the name. “‘The Skeleton’s Heir?’ What kind of hacker name is that? Look, this sounds like a really elaborate trap from the Admins. I mean, this USB is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. And the ability to track them no matter what? They’re messing with us.”

7n7 looked at the letter in his hands and shook his head. “No, the writing’s way too messy. If it were an Admin, it would at least look like they were faking the weird lettering…”

The shorter rolled his eyes. “Okay, say it was another hacker or something. What could they have that we don’t? I mean, if they really wanted this ability, couldn’t they just take it for themselves?”

The brunette thought for a moment. “Maybe it’s not a hacker. Nor an Admin.”

“Why would an average Robloxian want to take down the Admins?” Noli asked.

“Terrorism? They want to be in power? I’m not entirely sure. But it’s definitely interesting…”

“Yeah, I can admit that…” Noli thought for a moment before passing the USB to his friend. “Plug that in, then. Probably best we meet our ‘new partner in crime’ as soon as possible. Then, we can work on the Korra heist.”

7n7 nodded, plugging the files into his C00lgui.

“Looks like they’re somewhere in the woods right now. But they are actually traveling.”

“How does a Robloxian get this stuff?” Noli asked cautiously.

“I don’t know,” the blue-eyed hacker stated. “But we’re about to find out.”

*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*-;-.-;-*

7n7 and Noli teleported into the lush forest, close to the coordinates they were given.

“They should be approaching us soon,” 7n7 stated.

Noli looked out at the forest ahead of them. “What do you think they look like?”

The brunette shrugged. “Who knows?”

The purple one stayed silent beside his friend for a few moments. “I wonder if it’s a hot chick.”

7n7 squinted at his friend. “Seriously?”

Noli put up his hands in defense. “Look, dude, we can’t rule anything out! Just in case, does my hair look okay?”

The devilish hacker rolled his eyes. “You’re a dork.”

“Correction: I’m your dork.”

“God, can you both shut up?”

The two hackers whipped behind them to see… What the hell was that?

It was a Robloxian, that was clear. But they had some weird… corruption, was it? Their hair was long, put up in a high ponytail, making them look like a girl, and it was as white as half of their skin. The other half of them was pitch black. On their head, they wore a green crown. They had a sleeveless green sweatshirt and white scarf, and ripped black jeans, one side having a pitch black chain coming from it. There was a red four-point star over one of their eyes, and the other was a dark red. They also had two… highly intimidating swords in their hands.

Noli looked them up and down, then elbowed 7n7. “Told you.”

7n7 rolled his eyes, scoffing, before the two walked forward to meet the stranger.

“Hey there,” he said as he approached. “I’m 007n7. This is my idiot of a best friend Noli.”

Noli pushed his friend slightly, enough to move him out of the way. “Haha, don’t, listen to him, he’s just joking.

The stranger looked at him skeptically. “Uh-huh. Sure.”

Their voice was odd. When they spoke, it sounded like two people talking simultaneously . One was deep and masculine, almost glitchy, and the other was soft, light, and feminine. They also spoke in a slightly English accent.

“I must say, thank you for meeting with me,” they continued. “I’m sure you were… skeptical of the origins.”

“We did think it might be a trap from the Admins…” 7n7 agreed.

“As much as we’d love to hang out and chat,” Noli said, “we do have another plan we have in the works that’s gonna be really fun, so what’s this power you’re promising?”

The stranger nodded. “I understand. If you do not know me, which I doubt you do, my name is 1x1x1x1, but you can call me my alias, Onyx, for now. I am in need of an item which has the ability to corrupt and infect people, including the Admins. If I can harness its power, then Robloxia’s Admins will work for us. Not the other way around.”

“What kind of item?” 7n7 asked, intrigued but skeptical. “It’s… a bit hard to believe, if you don’t mind me saying.”

“Yes, I know,” Onyx stated. “But that’s because everyone believes this artifact is a myth.”

“So how do you know it exists?” Noli questioned.

“I traveled with my… creator to see it,” they replied. “He wanted to check on it since there was some corrupted code escaping.”

“‘Creator?’” the purple hacker asked, before receiving a cold glare from Onyx. He raised his hands in defense. “Okay, hit a nerve there. I’ll back off.”

7n7 shook his head. “I still don’t quite understand. What artifact?”

At this, Onyx grinned. “The Void Star.”

The hackers looked at them in shock.

“The what?” Noli sputtered. “It- It exists? It really, truly exists?”

“You’re not pulling at our strings, are you?” the other said. “That would be a really mean prank if you are.”

They shook their head. “Not at all. It’s our only chance to give the Admins what they deserve. In our hands, even they can’t control us.”

Noli stimmed his hands excitedly. “Oh my Roblox. This is AMAZING!!!” He grabbed his friend’s shoulders. “Do you know what this means, Sev? Chaotic prank anarchy… FOREVER. We could become gods!”

7n7 smiled, before turning back to Onyx. “There’s still something on my mind. Why not get it yourself?”

Onyx frowned. “I’m… not acclimated to coding or hacking. I’m only a new exploiter, and, although I am not the same as I was, I’m too recognizable to the Admins. That’s why I want you to speak of me under my alias. So, I need some sneaky snakes to slither in for me. And I’ve observed you’ve had your fair share of making a scene and never getting caught.”

“Oh, you flatter me!” Noli said happily.

The devilish hacker cocked a brow. “Recognizable? Seriously, who are you?”

“Their greatest threat,” they replied vaguely. “I assure you, more information will be revealed later on. But for now, I need your help.”

“What do you want us to do?” 7n7 asked.

“I know the code to get into and out of the server where the Void Star is being held,” they replied. “If you could input this code into your devices, it will allow us to steal it.”

“‘Ight, bet,” Noli stated, jumping forward. “What is it? We could go now.”

Onyx sighed. “Although I admire your enthusiasm, it’s not that simple. As I’ve said, the Admins have me under their radar. And with the… incident I caused, they're going to be making fortifications and defenses to keep us at bay. We need to prepare first.”

“I agree,” 7n7 stated before Noli could question about the incident. “We need to keep this all under wraps, too. Lay low for a bit.”

“Oh, come on!” Noli exclaimed. “We were just talking about how fun our new adventure was gonna be…”

“I promise, you will both be rewarded with many more ventures to come,” Onyx stated, although it didn’t stop Noli’s pouting. They looked between the two in front of them. “So, do you both live together? Or do you have separate houses?”

“Well, we usually hang out at my house,” 7n7 replied, “but Nols has a two-bedroom apartment–”

“Great,” they interrupted. They pointed at Noli. “I’m staying with you.”

“Wh– d– I– WHAT???” Noli sputtered as Onyx passed him. “Why me?!”

“Because I can,” they replied as they walked away.

“Where are you going?” 7n7 called out to them. “We could teleport you, y’know!”

“I prefer to walk,” they called back. “Don’t worry, I’ll find you.”

The hackers watched as their new ally and client disappeared into the woods.

“Well, they fit right in, at least,” 7n7 chuckled.

“Yeah, they’re a perfect addition to our group…” Noli said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

The devilish hacker pulled out his c00l_gui. “We better get home then. We’re gonna need some time to process… all of this.”

Noli nodded. The two teleported to their homes…

Unaware of the pain this new venture would bring them.
