Work Text:
Hyuna jolted awake from her mid-afternoon nap, panic dancing in her eyes as she ruffled through her clothes, searching for the perfect outfit for the evening. She was meeting Luka today, and she needed to look good, never mind the fact she'd almost forgotten all about it, what with how hectic Christmas had been.
She rifled through crop tops (it's December), skirts of all lengths and designs, dresses, pants, shirts and sweaters before deciding on a pair of baggy jeans and a top Luka had gifted her on her birthday a few months ago, he'd even gifted Hyunwoo a new insect book.
She appraised the outfit, which was placed gently on top the rest of her scattered clothes she had thrown around in a hurry.
Hyuna nodded her head, good enough.
Hyuna pulled on her pants and shoved on her top before running her brush through her hair and scraping it up into a moderately acceptable bun, clipping on her favorite hoop earrings, brushing on some eyeshadow and mascara before unbottling her lip gloss.
On the way out the door, paired with hopping towards the door as she was trying to stuff her foot into a pair of brand new sneakers, Hyuna quickly snatched her favorite jacket and a scarf she'd boughten last year.
"Hyuna, where are ya goin'?" Hyunwoo chimed in from the kitchen. He was probably on the phone with his boyfriend or making a peanut butter sandwich, most likely both.
"Date!" She screamed, scrambling out the door, ignoring the loud thud that came from the kitchen.
She was going to be late, and that is something she'd rather not have, you know? Especially with it being the last day of the year and all that.

The door was closed.
It always was.
Luka used to wonder why no one was allowed to open it. He got used to it, though. He always did.
The door was also blue, a very pretty blue, though most would call it gray.
It reminded him of cloudy days, the colour baby blue, and a certain pair of eyes that enamored him everytime he saw them, whether it was when they were crinkled up in joy or sharp with anger, or was it defiance?
Luka would usually stop to gaze at the door before going on about his day, but today, he all but spared it a glance, shoving on his boots hazardously as he stumbled out the door, his driver - Jacob, was it? - had already started the car, normally Luma wouldn't even look at him, but today, it seemed like his New Year's resolution was already kicking in, seeing as Luka gave him a thankful nod, tucking a ring box snugly in his coat pocket as he adjusted his fluffy blue scarf Hyuna had gifted him a year ago.
Hyuna.
A smile bloomed on his face as his fingertips brushed against the small navy box burrowed in his jacket. He couldn't wait to see her.

Hyuna stumbled out of her car, tripping over the door in a hurry as she rushed towards a run-down cafe she and Luka had went on their first date, her hair falling out of her bun and her face reddening slightly from the cold and the fact she was sprinting towards the location she and Luka had agreed to meet at, only slowing down once she spotted the familiar scarf she'd gifted him last year.
Hyuna pulled down her own thick scarf as she let out a yell, "Luka!" A grin nestled onto her face as her long hair stuck to her face, hoop earrings shining in the sunset, puffs of air floating around her as she jogged towards him, the setting sun basking her in a heavenly glow.
To a bystander, she looked beautiful.
To Luka? Ethereal.
He felt his lips curling into a small smile, his cheeks dusted pink as he shyly waved back, matching scarf wrapped loosely around his neck, blonde curls tumbling around, his glasses reflecting the only one he ever wanted to stare at,
"Hyuna!"
She seemed to beam even brighter after that, if that was possible.
