Chapter Text
Today was going to be an incredible day for Izuku Midoriya.
It had been 10 years after he had graduated from UA high school, and 4 since he had gotten his famous Iron Deku suit allowing him to return to public heroics alongside the rest of his peers in class 1A.
Life had treated him very well, and he felt incredibly blessed to be able to live out the amazing dream he had since he was a child.
He was driving home along the peaceful Tokyo streets, when a burst of static came over his radio.
“Attention, we have a deadly high speed chase going down Bespin Avenue. All available pro heroes requested.”
“I’ve got time.” Izuku mumbled to himself, before pressing a button on his car and speeding off towards Bespin Ave.
The car’s autopilot kicked into high gear, and before Izuku knew it, he was out of his suit and tie and into his hero costume, each piece of the Iron Deku suit clicking into place. Taking back control of the wheel, he focused on getting to the scene of the chase as quickly as possible, following it on the incident tracking screen installed in the front console of his car.
Looking at the rode, he slammed on the brakes as he saw an elderly woman step into the street desperately waving at him.
“Mr. Deku, Mr. Deku, please help me! My cat Sakura climbed into that tree over there and won’t come down.” the woman begged.
“Of course m’am. Just stand clear, there could be danger.” Izuku replied. It was just a cat in a tree right there, he’d coax it down and then he could stop the car chase. Nervously, he saw a large ‘target approaching’ warning light up on his screen.
“Oh, no he’s quite tame.” the woman protested.
Walking up to the tree, Izuku felt the whirring of the motors in his Iron Deku suit as he ripped the tree from the ground and brought it so the helpless cat was dangling inches above it’s owner’s head.
“C’mon Sakura, come to your mama.” the old woman pleaded.
Izuku heard the alert from his car again, and then he heard the roar of car engines and a wail of police sirens in the distance.
He shook the tree harder and harder, Sakura protested this treatment, clinging stubbornly onto the tree branch.
Then, at the last possible moment, Sakura fell out of the tree into her loving owners arms. Deku then brought the tree over his head and slammed it down across the road, where the escaping villain’s car slammed into it coming to an abrupt halt.
The pursuing police cars came to a screeching stop right behind the villains, the officers rushing to detain them before they could recover.
Izuku went to place the tree back in the ground when the officers came up to him saying,
“Amazing work Deku! You’ve done it again!”
Izuku smiled before replying,
“Oh it’s no problem officers! All part of a day's work!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, one of the officer’s radios cracked to life
“We have a tour bus robbery reported in Lothal.”
Deku checked his watch once more.
“I’ve got time.” he mumbled to himself.
“Officers, m’am, Sakura, you all have a safe day now!”
He then hopped into his car, hopeful that he could catch the thief quickly and be back in time to keep his appointments for the day.
It took him roughly an hour to track the villain down. He was going through the contents of several purses he’d stolen from a group of foreign tourists, leaving him utterly oblivious to Izuku approaching behind him, until he cleared his throat and said,
“The contents of a woman’s purse do say a lot about her, but I don’t think you’re going about that the appropriate way.”
The robber shot up like a rocket, eyes wide with fear as he backed away from Izuku. In desperation, the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the hero.
Right as Izuku prepared to rush the man and disarm him, came a cry of,
“GUNHEAD MARTIAL ARTS!”
The Zero Gravity Hero: Uravity, burst out from around the corner and slammed the villain into the ground, twisting his wrist in a fluid motion causing the gun to drop down and skitter harmlessly across the concrete.
Handcuffing the man, Uravity hauled him to his feet. Izuku recovered from the surprise to say,
“Oh, it’s ok Uravity, I’ve got him.”
“Uh huh, that’s why I was the one who took him down, right Mr. Number 1 hero?”
‘So that’s how she wants to play it’ Izuku thought.
“Well, his attention was on me.”
“A fact which I used to do my job.” Uravity shot back.
“You mean my job.” Izuku retorted.
“A simple thank you would suffice.” Uravity returned.
“Thank you, but I can handle myself.”
“Whatever happened to ladies first?”
“Whatever happened to equal treatment?”
Whatever they were doing was interrupted by the robber,
“Hey man, the chick got me fair and …”
Uravity’s left fist cut that sentence short.
She then took a couple of steps to close the distance between her and Izuku, saying,
“Maybe we could share this one.”
“I don’t know Uravity, I’m a little awkward around pretty ladies … such as yourself.”
Izuku noticed the permanent blush marks on Uravity’s face darken as she replied,
“Well Deku, maybe you should … lighten up a bit.”
Izuku’s composure almost broke at this, almost.
“So … are you doing anything later?” He asked.
“I’ve got some plans with a really GREAT guy. He’s a teacher.”
Then with a wink, Uravity floated away, leaving Izuku speechless in her wake.
Izuku did the boring work of dropping the perp off at the police station, before heading out again. On his way out, he bumped into another famous hero, Ingenium.
“Midoriya! Shouldn’t you be getting ready for tonight!” Class 1A’s former rep chastised.
“I’ve still got time!” Izuku protested.
The pair’s conversation was cut short by a woman screaming,
“OH MY GOD I THINK HE’S GONNA JUMP!”
Izuku’s head snapped around towards the source of the voice, before he saw a small speck falling past a nearby high rise building. Quickly, Izuku realized the speck was a person! A person he needed to save right now!
“Float, activate!” Izuku shouted.
The rocket boosters installed in Izuku’s suit roared to life, shooting him forward. He collided with the falling man, and the two crashed through the plate glass of the skyscraper.
The man groaned after they came to a rest on the floor,
“I think you broke something.” he whined.
“It’s ok, you’re safe now.” Izuku said as he stood up off the man. He likely had a long road of physical and psychological therapy ahead of him, but Izuku didn’t think mentioning it would be very productive.
However, before Izuku could report in to the police to summon help for the man, a large explosion rang out, launching a nearby door off its hinges.
“Didn’t expect the number 1 hero to show up for a meagre suicide attempt.” Said a man who emerged from the smoke.
“Well I am here, so give up now villain or there will be consequences.” Izuku threatened.
“Oh I’m sure there will be Deku. But you’re going to be needed to save the poor innocents on the next train.”
The man then snapped his fingers, and a second explosion ripped through the air outside the building.
Izuku looked on in horror as the nearby elevated train rails collapsed, with the scheduled train rapidly approaching.
Cursing himself, Izuku slung the civilian over his shoulder with the Blackwhip feature of his suit and rocketed to the gap in the train tracks with float.
In one fluid motion, the victim was dropped at the feet of nearby rescue personnel and Izuku had put himself between the train passengers and certain doom.
“Activate, Blackwhip, Fajin and Gearshift now!” Izuku commanded the suit, right before impact.
The train collided with him, all of the strength in the suit barely being able to slow and then stop it, just as it wound up with the front car hanging off of the edge of the rails.
Minutes later, Izuku was giving another statement to the police.
“Yes, there was a new villain with some sort of explosion quirk who set up the train to derail. If we cordon off the area we might have time to find him!”
“How about WE cordon off the area Deku, I’m pretty sure that YOU have some other arrangements that YOU REALLY need to be getting to!” the Acid Hero: Pinky cut in.
“OHMYGODYESOFCOURSETHANKYOU!” Izuku stammered out before rushing off.
Half an hour later, Izuku was standing in the hallway of a church, fumbling around with his tie. Tenya Iida walked up to help him with it.
“You’ll be fine Midoriya. Just remember Uraraka loves you … in spite of your tardiness … and you love her.” Iida encouraged.
“Thank you Iida.” Izuku replied, before stepping into the church.
Ochako Uraraka stood waiting for him. An ethereal white dress flowed around her, Izuku felt his heart fluttering as she broke out into an incandescent smile upon seeing him.
Moments later, the officiant droned on,
“Do you, Izuku Midoriya, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife …”
“Y’know Deku, I didn’t think you’d actually forgotten when you asked if I wanted to do anything later. I thought it was just playful banter!” Ochako whispered to him.
“It was playful banter!” Izuku protested back.
“Well ya cut it a little close!”
“Maybe you should just lighten up.” Izuku retorted.
Ochako pouted at her own words being used against her before whispering,
“I love you Deku … but if this is gonna work between us, you know you have to be more than Deku the hero, right?”
Before Izuku could answer, the officiant finished with,
“So long as you both shall live.”
Luckily, Izuku could answer each question at once,
“I do.”
Then Ochako jumped into his arms and the two melted into a brief but passionate kiss.
A moment later, Izuku placed Ochako down, and she repeated,
“As long as we both shall live, no matter what.”
Taking a moment to glance at the crowd and seeing all their families and friends, some still adorned in their hero costumes, Izuku looked into her warm brown eyes and replied,
“We’re superheroes Ochako, what could happen?”
Oh what Izuku would give to take those words back.
