Chapter Text
Throughout the series, it has been shown that the characters' powers evolve, demonstrating various ways to change the abilities they initially possessed.
I myself divided them into a classification to give an idea of each evolution seen in the series:
00. Grow Up: This evolution can be experienced by any younger Miraculous holder, although it's actually an evolution that shouldn't be seen since the holders were always adults chosen and trained to wield the Miraculous, all thanks to the order of the guardians.
Currently, all members of "the Miraculers" are adult Miraculous holders, but initially, they were considered too immature for such a burden.
This potentially leaves children and their Miraculous vulnerable, giving villains the opportunity to win due to the lack of time or limitations in the use of their power.
The process of obtaining a Miraculous seems to involve training and/or mental or physical maturity.
It is unclear whether this requires more than rigorous training or simply forcing evolution through willpower.
------------------------------------------
Here we enter the realm of evolutions that involve the creation and/or alteration of powers, which can be:
01. Empowerment: This category goes hand in hand with evolutions that simply strengthen a previous power, leaving only a slightly altered form of a power already seen.
Megakumas and Ultrakumas are, in reality, an altered form of Akumatization. Their power increases are seemingly limited to an additional power boost.
However, they do not demonstrate a direct effect on the original power:
Enhancing and/or granting someone their own powers.
Megakumas only have the effect of breaking Ladybug's magical charms.
While Ultrakumas, in addition to seemingly ignoring magical charms, grant the ability to release Antikumas, this remains to be confirmed, as it is unknown whether these powers are connected or separate.
------------------------------------------
02. Alteration: This category goes hand in hand with altering the properties of a power, essentially changing its purpose.
The Miraculous Chat Noir, a power born as an evolution and alteration of the original power, Cataclysm.
Its function is to eliminate all traces of the side effects of an akumatized villain's actions, primarily serving as the complementary opposite to Ladybug's restorative power.
Its only known use was the power to erase something intangible, such as someone's memories.
Its maximum capabilities are uncertain, but as an apparent complement to the Miraculous Ladybug, these two powers could restore everything to 100% as it was before the akuma appeared.
Leaving everything as if nothing had happened...
------------------------------------------
03. Original: This category includes powers that, while they could be considered a branch of the previous ones, possess a different nature than what has been seen before.
Born as a new interpretation of the conceptual powers of the respective Kwami/Miraculous.
New powers can be created following the concept to which the holder is bound.
Created following the concept of the origin of everything: Creation.
The Magical Charms are amulets created from the residual energy that was purified and expelled from the previously defeated Ultra/Mega/Akuma.
For this reason, each amulet is different, and several can be created from a single akuma, as the residual essence is linked to the butterfly.
Their purpose is to protect the people who wear them from the influence of a butterfly wielder who uses Akumas (their effect on Kamikos is unknown).
- However, after Gabriel Agreste used his own evolved powers to create megakumas, the Magical Charms lost their purpose beyond being an accessory.
During season 5, it was shown that the Magical Charms can create a shield capable of not only withstanding a megakuma but also purifying it.
- although this only seems to happen when it resonates with a great deal of positivity, which makes its effects somewhat redundant, since positivity is the natural way to ward off Akumas.
------------
Following the nature of the concept of carrying and delivering, Transmission.
The Antikumas are a power born as an apparent opposite to that of the akumas, as they eliminate the connection between the holder and the kwami, nullifying the transmission of powers between them.
Currently, their effect on beings with natural powers is unknown.
However, it is known that Miraculous holders will lose access to their main powers.
Although they will retain basic powers such as the mask's effect to conceal their identity and invulnerability.
So far, its effect has only been seen on Chat Noir, but it appears he lost the power of Cataclysm.
And in the episodes "Daddycop" and "Wreckless Driver," the Antikumas were able to take away not only his main power but also his power-up suits (Aqua Noir and Astro Cat).
- This could be potentially fatal in outer space, as it eliminates the source of air and possibly total immunity to space radiation.
Their "weaknesses" include the fact that a Miraculous holder only needs to detransform and transform again. However, as previously noted, in situations like a fight in space, this can be impossible.
- In addition, the Butterfly Miraculous holder cannot truly control them and can only fire them in a straight line from the light mask of their akumatized victim, making them dependent on the akuma's aim and targeting ability.
- although in cases where he is present he can apparently fire them without needing to use the Akumatized mask.
- Otra debilidad es su incapacidad para contrarrestar las armas milagrosas cuando se utilizan como escudos.
