Chapter Text

It was a calm morning in the middlesea hospital, after the events of the previous week it was basically a blessing, the patients were calmer even (Still they were odd though)

Samurai was off doing his own thing as always, Logan and Hailey were happily discussing were their first date should be, Nicole and Cole were talking in the cafeteria

And Ian was about to create something nice for the Intern!

The intern was doing his daily check-up on the whole hospital, he then changed his video display to the basement to see what Ian was up to, when Ian finally noticed the iconic finger intern he smiled and got up from his computer

Ian: Hey Intern! Good day isn’t it? I-i was just thinking about you right now because I've got just the thing for you!

Ian turned and started fishing around the cabinets looking around for something

Ian: Alright where is it... It’s not here... Could it maybe be?... AH-HA!

He pulls out what looks like a little rectangular monitor the size of a watch, he turns to where the visual display would be looking down on the basement and then Ian presses a button

Immediatly on the intern’s monitor he saw a window with a prompt to something called “Rhythm Doctor’s Emotable Monitor” Thinking for a few moments the Intern looked at the prompt for a few seconds before shrugging and reaching for his mouse and subsequently clicking on the “Connect” prompt

Suddenly another screen opened and from it he could look through the perspective of the little monitor, the intern then moved around a bit his windows to watch both visual feeds, looking through the original feed he could see the little monitor lit up with his already customized hand avatar, a big dumb smile appeared on his face before he looked over to the other screen

Other than the perspective of the monitor in Ian’s hands he could see a circular hand button on the side, when he clicked on it a few hand gestures appeared besides the button, looking through them he could see a...

Closed fist, thumbs up, thumbs down, peace sign, Ok hand formation, open palm, a open palm but with little movement lines, a open palm but sideways and a pointing finger.

The intern looked over the options before picking the waving option and seeing from the Rhythm Doctor feed he could see the little monitor display  a animation of a waving hand

Ian seems content and nodded before turning on another button and threw gently the monitor before it started flying with mini rocket propulsions

Ian: What do you think Intern? I’ve thought about how much you helped us and yet you could not even say or express a bit of what is happening on the moment so i decided to create this little extension of the Rhythm Defibrillator where you could move it around and use it to interact with patients and the staff, pretty neat eh?

The intern blinked a bit surprised at the gift that he just received, he thought about that moment when Mrs Steverson asked him about her husband and all he could do was just continue administering the Rhythm Defibrillator so he was glad to atleast have a simple system for communication

The intern used the controls on the other screen to move the little monitor to look at Ian and then using the gestures button to give a thumbs up to Ian, which seems to give a little chuckle and a smile on the anxious doc

Ian: That’s nice to know! It’ll also automatically follow where you move your Rhythm Defibrillators feed so you don’t have to mess with the controls always, pretty cool right? Anyways i don’t want to bother you and Ada’s daily check-ups on the patients!

He waves bye to the monitor and goes to sit down in his computer to work on other tech related stuff, just as the intern moves his visual feed and the little monitor begins moving a strange pink star looking hole appears next to the stairs with a strong burst of gravitational force that knoced some items and even pulled some inside

Unfortunately the little monitor was caught in the radius and was now being pulled

Ian: W-what the-?!

He scrambles to try and get up from his chair but it was too late, as Ian finally got up he could only saw in shcok as the little monitor was sucked up by the pink black hole, he began panicking as he ran around the safe corner of the room trying to find something to try and fix this situation all the while the intern just looked bewildered at the monitors screen that was showing a blur of colours and lines, after a few seconds the monitor seemed to be spat out in the sky of a...

The intern blinked in disbelief, the visual feed showed a rocky landscape that looks like a planet alien than a place on earth,he watched from it’s nauseating perspective as the monitor spun around in the air, when the intern close his eyes expecting the monitor to break on impact with the ground, he was surprised to open his eyes to the monitos activating it’s rocket propulsors at the last time and saving itself from breaking on the rocky ground

The intern let out a breath of relief he didn’t know he held before looking back at Ian who seemed to have calm down and now just looking at the portal seeming to be wondering what he was going to do, he looked around for a bit before he picked up one of his scrapped techs and looking back at the portal and tossing the piece of junk at it, it sucked it in before it started to, Glitch out?

After a moment or two it then seemed to collapse on itself and disappear, Ian scratched his head but ultimately let out a breath of relief and asked out loud

Ian: Intern?! Are you still there?

Ian spotted the finger intern and let out a sigh of relief

Ian: Phew! Thought something happened to the connection, atleast we still have the original connection

Ian then seems to remember something

Ian: OH RIGHT! THE MONITOR!

Ian rushes to his computer and messes with it before raking over something and letting a sigh of relief and leaning back into his chair

Ian: Phew!... It’s not broken atleast... WAIT WHERE THE HELL IS IT?! And how is it holding connection?!

Ian scratched his head and seemed a bit bewildered before looking over to the intern

Ian: H-hey... I’d hate to ask you this... but could you move the monitor around so we could find out where the monitor could be?

The intern complied by looking over to the other window and using his WASD keys to start moving around the monitor, Ian and intern could see from the exploration was that it was a extremely empty landscape filled with dark sharp stones, as Ian was noting something down a sound coming from the visual feed of the monitor jolts them both to full attention now

The intern moves the monitor all around before spotting what could be producing the sound, it appeared to be a giant smoke of dust that seemed to have been moved around by an explosion, the intern curious as to what it was began moving the monitor towards the direction, after a while they stumble upon in just a few miles away what appeared to be a heavily armoured knight with a shovel pointed at a cup headed kid?!
