Chapter Text
Tobirama had always been close with Tsunade especially after Hashiramas death. He had been the one to console her after her parents' deaths, then he had been the one to show her mystic palm technique and encourage her into refining and studying healing with Mito’s help… and he was never more proud seeing her in the battlefield as Hokage when he was reanimated. Never more proud to see her legacy passing on to a bright pink-haired Kunoichi
Sakura had been her name, he remembered Tsunade introducing them when she had the chance… a brilliant girl with bright sea green eyes and a sharp mind Tobirama knew if Mito had been around still she would’ve snatched Sakura up and taken every chance she could to cram seals and theories into that brilliant mind… he knew Mito would’ve been proud, and vindicated after the grief elders gave her for studying such an ancient technique that hadn't resurfaced in centuries, to see the hundreds form on Sakura, the third generation of 100 seal users…
Tobirama remembered being proud before chaos overtook once more, he remembered vaguely madara being stabbed by something being sucked away before things went blank… he woke up in the far past right before the final battle where he was supposed to kill izuna… he had been on a mission in iron if memory was right it had been to gather more resources… everything had been normal at first the same as his past memories up until tobirama reached the woods.
The woods had a faint lingering chakra humming over the ground something ancient but not. As he got deeper closer to the source he froze seeing two dead civilians one with blonde hair and dull green eyes a tall woman with faint Senju like features and a white dress soaked in blood… and a man with dull pink hair almost magenta styled in a flower shape something eccentric he could see Hashirama enjoying… the man had tanned skin likely out in the sun often and a dull purple merchant wear, his once dark blue eyes dull as well… both were laying on the side of the wagon which had been looted as if to grab something precious.
He walked closer burying them as his people were even if they were distantly related they were still close enough to be family, he gave them a final prayer leaving a flower over their graves… it was when he stood up to leave that he felt it a small fluttering chakra hidden under some blankets in the wagon… something that had been ignored by looters. He lifted the blankets and froze… their was a familiar head of bright pink hair and sleepy but no less bright sea foam eyes on a small baby with oh-so familiar chakra that definitely shouldn’t have been in his time.

He couldn’t leave her. He knew by taking her he would travel far slower likely missing the final battle but… he remembered how proud and caring Tsunade had been of Sakura and he couldn’t leave her behind he couldn’t leave her in the bearing village without the guilt following him. So against his better judgement he purchased soft blankets, ordered a custom warm baby-sized clothes for Sakura in Senju colors choosing soft pale green and lilacs with red accents as a reminder of who she once was… and what she achieved.
He had stayed behind in the village for a week while waiting for the clothes using his free time to help out t he locals giving them a new fresh source of water, strong protection seals, and better plumbing. He managed to bond with Sakura getting a sense for what kind of baby she was, an clingy and sleepy little one who rarely cried or fussed oddly enough. She seemed to adore skin-to-skin contact cooing and sleeping so easily under his shirt tucked against his chest while he wandered the village.
He was never really able to idly roam like this in his first life… he had befriended some locals and gotten plenty of little gifts for his ‘daughter’ the village women positively adored the few times they’ve seen Sakura. By the times the clothes were done Tobirama had a scroll dedicated to Sakura full of little gifts to her some toys, teething items, bottles, clothes, and accessories… when it was time to leave Tobirama dressed her in the warmest outfit she had a pretty soft pale green dress with cream legging, a red baby cap, red soft socks, and swaddled her in a warm fur blanket.
Tucking her against his chest arms now free and his senses alert he began the trek home at a moderate pace. Fast enough to not take weeks but also not so fast that it would make Sakura cold or fussy. He stopped a few times to feed her, change her diaper, or fix her blanket before being distracted by a small frantic firey chakra going dócil surrounded by two larger ones, Bloodline theives and one that managed to steal a Uchiha child. He fixed sakuras swaddle to tuck her firmly to his chest under armour this time just in case and changed directions following the small fire like chakra.
“It’s the white demon! Run—“ “what BCS you mean run?! If we kill him we could fetch a heafty pa—“ it was… odd how easily he killed the bloodline theives… he wasn’t weak at this time but he didn’t have his near mastery or his space-time seal yet… maybe it was the muscle memories of his past? His future? Or maybe it was the training he did back when the were still in the civilian village..? Whatever it was while he wasn’t as skilled as he once was he was far smoother then he had been in this time.
He scooped up the uncounsious Uchiha child, a toddler with messy short curls one that looked vaguely familiar to him. Settling the boy against his hip and after a brief check up on Sakura tobirama resumed his pace home making a stop to an village in Uchiha territory knowing theirs always a few lingering about he left the toddler safely tucked in one of Sakura’s many blankets under a tree by the edge of the village. Lingering just long enough to see one of the child’s clansmen carry the boy inside after finding him.
