Work Text:
Momiji and Hatsuharu strode through the aisles of a clothing shop. Hatsuharu kept close to Momiji to avoid getting lost, and unbeknownst to Momiji, Hatsuharu had been frequently giving death glares to any passersby who eyed them funny.
Momiji swiped through hangers on the rack and gasped. “Oooh! This piece is so cute!! And I have an idea to make it cuter. You see, Tohru’s been teaching me sewing skills and — Hatsuharu… why do you have that look on your face? Do you need the restroom?”
Hatsuharu sputtered at the suggestion. “What!? No! I was just…” Hatsuharu glanced around before lowering his voice, “I was thinking what a tough kid you are.”
Momiji blinked at him, wide-eyed. “We’re the same age, Hatsuharu…” He prodded Hatsuharu’s chest. “Aren’t you supposed to be the cool, tough one?” Momiji asked with a smirk.
Hatsuharu’s face turned serious. “I mean it, Momiji. You are good at being yourself. And being there for others. Not sure how you do it in this family.”
Momiji’s heart swelled at his cousin’s words. “Are you kidding? It’s because of my family. You, Yuki, Kyo, and the others. Your support lets me be myself.”
“…Let’s get ice cream.”
“Yay!!”
