This fanfiction follows the animated adaptation of Invincible, with occasional deviations from the source material and added scenes. The primary divergence lies in the premise that Mark Grayson is born as a girl, herein named Marcie Grayson. This alteration, by necessity, affects her upbringing, socialization, and several key events in her early life. Furthermore, Marcie Grayson is considered to be 18 years old from the beginning of this narrative and is depicted as a senior in high school.

Chapter 1: knock knock who's there?

Chapter Text

Marcie Grayson sat on the toilet seat in the bathroom, with her bottom exposed. Anyone looking from the outside might have assumed she was simply using the toilet, but she was calmly reading an erotic novel hidden inside a comic book, imagining what it would feel like to see a real penis. Just as she was about to turn the page, there was a sharp knock on the door.

“Mom?” she called out, her eyes still fixed on the book. Then, in a more impatient tone, “What! I’ll be out in a minute!”

The door opened without so much as a pause. Her mother stepped inside without hesitation.

“I don’t have a minute,” Debbie said, wandering through the bathroom as if looking for something.

Marcie jolted and clamped the comic over her crotch to cover herself. Her cheeks flared red. “Mom!”

“My bathroom’s out of soap.” Debbie spoke as though the matter required no explanation whatsoever. When she noticed her daughter’s reaction, she rolled her eyes. “Oh, come on. Get over yourself. We’re both girls, young lady. We have the same equipment. There’s nothing going on down there I haven’t seen before.”

“Just get out!” Marcie squeaked, her voice high with embarrassment.

Her mother gave a careless shrug, grabbed the soap, and shut the door behind her. Left alone, Marcie released a long breath and driven by curiosity about what would happen next in the novel, she opened the comic again.
