Work Text:

The sun ray spread across the entire, endless Meadow. A little bit too bright, a little bit too harsh. Spoke walked steadily, alone with no one insight. All he saw was blue, green, and the white here and there from the clouds that came passing by. Small and big, unbothered, letting the wind bring them across the horizon.

Spoke's shadows feel uncannily long, dark just like his skin, despite the sun sitting right above him. Spoke didn't care, he just walked and walked and walked.

Minutes, hours, seconds passed by, and the green landscape changed little by little. The world feels corrupt, some of the land is gone, leaving craters that lead into the endless mass of blue. Into nothingness.

Spoke felt tempted to just jump into one of those, but he kept walking.

Then, occasionally, he saw a little bit of red, a little bit of blue in the middle of the grass, and some light color stone. Its scattered left and right, barely noticed. Spoke ignore them and try to keep walking. The sunlight still felt uncanny, too harsh and hitting the grass and the sky. The green feels greener, and the blue sky feels like it's melting.

Spoke felt like he is melting.

But he didn't. He just drenched in sweat, so he kept walking, ignoring all the things need to be ignored. He needs to keep walking, and walking he does.

Eventually, cornflowers and roses bushes surrounded him. They covered the entire green meadow, and the sun ray still hitting unbothered. Spoke can see them from the corner of his eyes, yet he acts like he doesn't care.

He just keeps walking,

and walking

and walking

and walking

walking, while the flowers blurred into splashes of baby blue and red.

He blurred just like them, melting, legs felt heavy, thorns stabbed his dark skins here and there, leaving red dripping, joining the rest of red and blue across the green meadow.

The sky falls, the sun ray still shines brighter than ever, Spoke keeps walking despite blurring with his surroundings.

And then he snapped

He runs. Runs and runs and runs and runs, trying to escape. But blue and red and green keep trying to catch him, to drown him, to make him stop and join and spiral with them into nothingness. Legs felt heavy, like lead and tons of boulder attached.

Maybe it's not boulder.

Maybe it's a sharp rock. Dripping, hitting his leg to keep it in place.

Spoke keeps running, eventually he is snapped.

And he is alone again, standing still in the middle of endless green, with endless blue sky and clouds and sun rays. Beads of sweat drenched him completely, and he exhaled loudly and coughed.

He didn't realize he held his breath the entire time.

And then he continued to walk, for hours, trying to reach the destination he himself had no idea what. Or where.

Or who.

The meadow is endless, and Spoke keeps walking and running occasionally. Uncaring, unbothered, as if nothing ever happened.

Then he saw it.

A single house, laid in the middle of nowhere. Its roof is red and hundreds of flowers formed a circle around it. All of them are roses. Spoke walked closer towards it. He entered the area filled with color, eyes focused on the single house, before he finally noticed a cross.

A single stone cross, tombstone you can say, adored in thorns and roses.

'Here lies JamatoP' its says.

Spoke chuckled, and then he heard something fell. He looks around in the middle of the roses.

A corpse, clothed in red and white, its head replaced with dripstone, hand holding a single rose. Spoke's eyed the cold body, uncaring, unbothered.

But sweats started rolling on again, and all of sudden the entire world break apart. Colors melt into each other, like an oil spreading across the ocean. The sky fall, corpse disappear beneathe roses and cornflower, and spoke melt into them.

And then nothingness sit, blotched of colors floating around, sink into the nothingness. Spoke is gone, drowned and sinking.

The sun still shine as weird as ever.

Notes:

// rant

So yeah this work came from a lot of projecting. Im basically projecting my own sense of guilt and irresponsibility into spokes character because i relate to him, a lot, like i hate him for that. What a creature. I hate how he ignored all the problems he had like i did, i hate how the guilt haunted him and he chose to ignore all of that and keep walking with no objective and goal, no destination. Just guilt and denial and ignoring his problem until it became too big too ignored and consume him and drowned him but then he ignored it again. I hate him so much im sorry im just projecting because i found uuspoke similar to me but whatever. What an adorable creature i need him alive i need him to die i need to kill myself actually instead of projecting with minecraft block guy but whatever, whatever.

Anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk.
