The first thing Glitch noticed when she woke up was that she was alone. She blinked her eyes slowly trying to finish the transition between being asleep and being awake. Her ears flicked as she picked up the sounds outside their room. Loud excited talking. Hmm sounds like Midnight is back.
With a smile on her face she finally gained the will to get up. She almost didn't want to leave her bed. It was so soft and so warm. That was one luxury of having a home base. While she would miss the time she spent traveling with her friends; camping out every night on the road, getting the know and explore new places. She would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy having a place to return to. She guesses that is one thing they could thank that useless god for.
She had managed to get out of the warm bed. Pjs dragging against the floor and yawning when she heard the sound of the door opening behind her. In a panic she whipped around and reached into the fabric of reality before recognizing the person standing in the doorway.
"Oh I didn't mean to startle you." Amanda said stepping further into the room. "I just came to tell you Midnight has come back."
"It's alright." She said her voice still round with sleep. Glitch smiled as her partner entered the room. "And I can tell, Midnight isn't exactly quiet,"
"I'm kinda glad for it. Imagine what it would have been like if the four of us were all closed off and confrontational?"
Glitch laughed hand glitching as she tried to cover up her mouth. "Oh boy, that would have been... Interesting? I don't think any of us would have made it past the first dimension. We would have torn eachother apart limb for limb."
Amanda let out a chuckle. "I'm surprised you haven't jumped up to meet her." Amanda made her way over gently letting her wing drape over the bed.
"Am I not allowed to rest in bed?" She let out an absolutely massive yawn, jaw almost cracking with the force of it.
"Nah, you are allowed to rest," she began leaning down to kiss Glitch on the head. "It's just unlike you."
Glitch let out a hum turning away to finish getting ready. Amanda also turned around, giving her girlfriend privacy as she changed.
"I guess I am just used to it."
"Huh?"
"Of Midnight coming back. It... It isn't a surprise anymore."
"We aren't going anywhere."
"I think I am starting to internalized that."
Once she was done Glitch walked over to Amanda, grabbing her hand and letting their fingers wind together.
"Beautiful," Amanda said leaning down to give Glitch another kiss. Playfully batting her face away Glitch stuck her tongue out at her. "You see me in this outfit all the time. You can't really still be caught on how I look."
With a slightly displeased hum Amanda leaned down to come to eye level with her. "If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would not at all be surprised by how beautiful I think you are."
With that she raised Glitch's hand to her face and kissed the knuckles of her hand. "You wouldn't be surprised too."
Amanda let out a confused hum. Turning her eyes off Glitch's hand.
"If you could see yourself through my eyes." Glitch replies stretching her hand up to rest it against Amanda's face. "If you could see yourself through my eyes you would see someone so beautiful it would be no surprise that you were crafted by gods."
Amanda opens and closes her mouth. Ears flicking with embarrassment. She is now very much not making eye contact with Glitch.
With a chuckle Glitch leaned in to kiss Amanda on her mouth. She never got tired of this. She never got tired of spending time with Amanda. Well at least not as tired as with some people. After a few second she pulls back. "My angel. So kind. So sweet. You do so much for us. I don't know how to thank you."
With a noise not unlike a small animal Amanda regains her composure. "I can think of a way you could thank me."
They are still so close it would be so easy to lean back into a kiss. Just-
"Hey Amanda is Glitch- Oh sorry am I interrupting anything?"
Both of them let out a yelp jumping back from eachother.
"No you aren't interrupting anything Maddie." Glitch replies once she rematerializes into a stable form.
"Good because Midnight wants to see you both and she will not shut up until you come say hi." Maddie replies tail flicking.
"We'll be right there." Amanda tell her.
"You better." Maddie leaves the room. The girlfriends trying their best to not burst out laughing.
"Guess we have to go out there." Glitch says
"Guess we do."
"Race you."
"You're on" Amanda says grinning.
Yeah, Glitch thinks today is going to be a good day.
