Ben P.O.V.
The hero of the universe that wears the most powerful device on his wrist facing uneven odds on the daily and a smoothie shop can’t even get my order right. Something must be wrong in the universe or maybe some god just wants to test me, I mean I don’t even get discounts for my orders. In any case I was waiting for someone so I could excuse it for today but tomorrow I’d give em a piece of my mind.
“Mr. Smoothie really has gone downhill” I sighed waiting for my order to get fixed as a skinny red head teen runs over to me handing me the correct order “Thanks man” he shakily handed over the drink
“No problem come again” He says scurrying into the back as if I don’t come here all the time but I am intergalactically famous, so I won't judge I prefer hanging out in Rex’s world where they don’t know me, along with a couple other reasons
I take a sip as I open my phone awaiting a call “Geez I show up early and of course she’s a no show I swear when I catch-” A sudden gust of wind cuts me off as a portal form shooting a kid out
“Help!” Screamed a younger version of me as he whipped his head around to the portal behind him closing “They’ll be coming elsewhere we must evacuate”
Guess that hunch was right, it always is for better or for worse but why’d this Ben talk so funny?
“What the?” I said confused as I rushed over to the alternate me
He was about 13 years old and wore my same color scheme except it was pink and black, the same for his Omnitrix which weirdly had a heart instead of an hourglass. The younger me flinched as I reached for him but he quickly took my hand as he followed me to the Mr smoothies.
“What happened to you?” I question “Was it Vilgax?”
“No even worse” The alternate me blurted as he pointed at the sky “They’re dragons and they want the Omnitrix” A story I’ve heard many times, but I was hoping it was my arch nemesis. After he attacked grandpa max three months ago and escaped, I was hoping to get revenge.
“Well you're in luck I have plenty of experience fighting with alternate Ben’s” I boasted dialing an alien maybe we could do a
“Uh about that” The younger Tennyson said “This Omnitrix isn’t like yours it summons aliens” He had a mix of embarrassment and panic on his face
“That’s new but that won’t be any issue for me” I argue having met a Ben like that although he was a jerk
“They don't fight” He states leaving me a little confused “They uh, fornicate”
“Huh?” I was stunned I mean I’d never imagine there was an Azmuth out there that was such a creep “I think I’ll have a word with your Azmuth but right now there are much more pressing matters”
“That we can agree on” He agreed running inside Mr. Smoothies
The wind twirled blowing trash away and kicking up dust as a red portal like a null void portal, except it had a blue electrical ring around it. Out of the portal popped out the dragons standing upright dressed in green robes, their wings slowly outstretch after being curled up to climb out the portal.
“Get ready to get your ass kicked” I said slamming my Omnitrix and turning into Heatblast
My shoulder exhausted a flamethrower of fire that roared in the silence of our faceoff. I watched the cult analyze my build before glancing over to the younger me in the Mr smoothies. They looked back to me approaching slowly before stating their objective.
“We want the young watch wielder” One of them says “Don’t resist” I could tell they were almost my height even though they were hunched over
“I don’t know why you would want a watch like his but it’s not yours so back off” I demand creating a wall of fire
They don’t seem fazed as they walk through the fire rather unamused and realistically, I should’ve seen that coming. But that didn’t mean they could take my full heat, I started channeling my flames as it starts rising to supernova levels then releasing it from my palms at the group sending them flying.
“Can’t take the heat” I charged my flames “Stay off my planet” I finished making a gun with my finger and shot fire bullets at the downed dragons at my max heat
“Get up you imbeciles” The leader demands his robe had a white stripe going down the center and the sides, he casts shield over his men allowing them to stand “You think these parlor tricks with be enough” The leader says taking a deck of cards off his side
He cast an incantation making a card float up as a hard light construct formed showing a flame in a circle as he pushed against it. It burst apart bringing flames that bubbled out of the floor forming a red bird with a yellow chest, it looked like a blue jay with a beer gut. There wasn’t enough time to make a joke about it before it dived at me exploding on impact.
“You can’t hope to defeat us just give up” The dragon demands
“If you want to do a game a cards I have just the guy” I say slapping my emblem switching to Brainstorm “With my great intellect you bipedal salamanders will lose your little game”
“So, you shape shifters all can switch at a whim?” The dragon acknowledges continuing to take out a card and do a spell with it as a blue and yellow snake appears, it spins around me creating a mini lightning tornado.
I quickly put up an electrical shield to protect myself from the attack, but it still seemed somewhat harm full to me as I felt the spark. The dragon seemed amused as he started to think he had me figured out, but he surely didn’t have me beat.
“Your magic is weak and unimpressive if all you can do is shape shift then you insult me by even facing off against me” He boasted as he cast another spell that looked like a grey shield with spikes that spun around me
“So that’s how it is” I barked switching to Diamondhead someone that was more than enough
I shot a wave of crystals at the spell caster which unfortunately was blocked by a shield as they laughed at my failed attempt. What they couldn’t block was my sharpened fist that pierced right through the shield and barley stopped before the dragon’s chest ceasing all their laughter.
“Damn it you did this with brute force” The dragon says clearly rethinking his prior actions “Follow through you imbeciles I need assistance” stopping the dragons from running away
The other dragon seemed to steal their wills as they grabbed their decks and focused on casting a wave of spells. They start casting spells as a number of things happen to me leaving me without a scratch.
Firstly, the sky broke open revealing a storm of meteors that raced right towards me but I made no effort to run. I took the hit, getting crushed into the floor watching the dust get kicked up. After I jumped out of the smoke I created diamond spikes that knock out a couple of the spell casters.
Second was a small doghouse that held a pair of innocent eyes, they turned angry bursting out of the dog house. A large red wolf barked launching himself at me closing his teeth around my waist shooting a wave of fire out his mouth. It had no effect as the dog bite harder breaking the poor dogs teeth. I grabbed its lips slamming it down against its caster knocking him out.
Lastly, the dragon that first engaged me summoned a massive Godzilla like beast that stepped on me. He roared into the air before blasting a ray of lightning atop of me. I was embedded in the ground like many time before but not knocked out, the dragons seemed to think so tho.
“He was no match for a true wizard” The dragon cheered not see me peel myself from the ground and rush his blind spot
“You wish” I said getting him to turn around in time for me to punch him through a building.
I turn to the others as they run at my very glance flying back to the swirling portal screaming. I paid it no mind as I thought they were ending the invasion like I had done with many others.
“Well that’s that” I dusted off my hands walking back to alternate me inside the Mr. Smoothies to get more answers
“No Mr. Tennyson” Said another voice from behind me which shocked me a little
“I literally just turned around” I sighed as I saw another dragon but it seemed to be a warrior based off the swords and armor. The other guest was a new species all together with its blue scales and trident I could tell it was a fish of some sorts wear greek looking robes.
“You stand before a Dragon and a Kraken” The Drake says pulling out his sword as the Kraken points its trident at me “Prepare for you doom” but I noticed the cards at their sides
“What is this a kid's game?” I commented which angered the duo leading to me getting rushed “Trust me my cousin does magic and she's never shown me such nerdy cards” I readied myself for their attack “and she’s the biggest nerd I know”
I create a spike wall that split the duo up allowing me to focus on the Kraken as I shoot a quick burst of crystals at the sea monster.
The Kraken summoned storm bats to take the hit yet their screech completely shatter the crystals. Before the Kraken can even think to use my weakness against me I rush the monster swinging at its face, but it dodges backwards.
It responds with a stab from the trident but I deflect the incoming attack to the side with my arm giving me the opening to elbow the creatures face. I followed up with a diamond pillar hitting him from beneath.
Just before I can try to finish the Kraken the Dragon swoops down grabbing its teammate away from me. I was about to continue my attack when a swarm of thunder bats surrounded me screeching cracking my body and leaving me weakened on the floor.
“We found your weakness” The dragon boasted as he dropped atop a roof top handing a potion to his injured friend.
“Maybe you found one” I said switching to one of favorite heavy hitters “But trying to find the next will be a humongous mistake”
I stomp over to my opponents as they both jump up preparing a spell to keep me at bay, but I pay no mind as I was sure I was more than enough in this form. I lunge at the Kraken who stabbed the ground in front of me, splashing a wave of water at me.
He didn’t expect me to grow six times my size and slam my fist atop him leaving him temporary delt with.
“You brute I won't be caught so easy” The Dragon states as he takes flight
I swiped at the Dragon who dropped meteors atop me but it wasn’t very effective more so like pinches at my size. Yet the dust that arises from the conflict seems off like it was swirling instead of being kicked up.
“Begone you lesser reptile” the dragon dismisses creating a hurricane that took me up
“Shit that was kinda obvious” I curse getting taken up in the winds and launched in too the clouds but they wouldn’t account for my decent
As I was falling back down I straightened up into a dive gaining as much speed as possible watching out for the Dragon who just as I thought watched my fall. He stayed just out of reach keeping an eye on me but he was just in range of my gravity.
“You will regret even raising a finger against the forces of Dragonspyre” He mocked
As much as I wanted to make a joke about how on the nose that name was I left it alone. I had something rather painful planned for him.
“Ever get pulled into someone's gravitational pull” I asked slapping my emblem and becoming Gravattack and grabbing the Dragon as he slammed onto me
The fear on the Dragon’s face was price less there’s nothing like rocketing towards the ground at mach speeds stuck to a rock.
“Cease your fall you damn Galilean” He yelled out as I crashed through the ground along with him
I landed in undertown right into the lake sinking like a rock which was basically what I was. The dragon seemed to be knocked out at least, but the kraken recovered his strength from his earlier encounter diving in after his friend.
“No you don’t” I said choking on the water and switching to Ripjaws
I jetted towards them trying to intercept the kraken when I instead slammed into what seemed to be lightning sharks which I was working out the logic of. Never mind that as I tried out maneuvering them but they cut off at every possible path leaving me back tracking until they got a sure hit.
“Lets see if you are still formidable” The Kraken says jetting towards me applying pressure without a second to recover
“God this this’ll be a pain” I groaned before I was tackled into an underwater cliff
The Kraken jabbed its trident at my head but I grabbed it fending the attack off while pushing the monster away with kicks. I slip out of the way as the trident gets plunged into the wall while I swim around to the Krakens right arm and bite into it thrashing about.
While it did hurt the Kraken it instead used a spell at close range summoning back the storm sharks as he tries grabbing me.
“Gotta be quicker than that” I mocked dashing off
I swim up towards to surface at my quickest speed trying to escape to my home field jumping out of the water. Yet the dragon was still lurking as it swooped down slashing a claw across my Omnitrix knocking me back into the water. Still being Ripjaws I wasn’t too worried but I was taken off guard and put in a choke hold by the kraken.
“This is your end Tennyson” the kraken says trying to break my neck
Then a yellow flash of my Omnitrix reminds me of another option I have, I changed my legs into a tail and clawed at the Krakens face barely escaping and giving me the chance to turn and scan the Kraken.
“It’s hero time” I said slapping my Omnitrix and becoming a Kraken myself which notably lacked clothes something I’ll ask Azmuth about “Joltopus!” I yelled coming up with the name on the fly
I looked just like the Kraken except green with the Omnitrix on my chest, I gave myself a quick look over before I swim towards my mirror match and summon a green bolt of lightning that cracked and evaporated the water around it. The Kraken tries doing another spell but I throw my bolt at his side that held his deck of cards which destroyed the deck and stunned him.
“I’m gonna enjoy this shellface” I growled zipping at the sea monster
With this chance I grabbed the Krakens face and slammed it into the cliff side and wailed on the monster. It tried using the storm sharks to pry me off him, but they didn’t have any effect on me. The kraken summoned his own lightning bolt and disbursing it shocking the water around me for a last-ditch attempt but I was unfazed.
“Impossible only a greater Kraken could resist my lightning” He cried swimming for the surface
“Really?” I pondered “Lets test that out” I copied his exact technique creating an electric field around myself catching the kraken as he was knocked out and sunk to the bottom
“One down” I remark blasting onto the surface and becoming human again facing off against the drake who landed in front of me “One to go”
“Malik fell to you?” The Dragon groaned cracking his neck “You shall have no such luck with me”
“We’ll see about that” I said dialing and slamming down on my Omnitrix becoming a dragon myself
“Magimander!” I yelled taking a look at myself in the waters reflection
I was dressed in the standard skintight suit similar to Jerryrig yet another flash at my side showed a deck of cards that had the familiar hourglass symbol on it.
“You know magic?” He says as he lands back on the ground activating a spell board “Then we must do a proper duel”
“Whatever, I’ll take that challenge any day of the week” I said entering the board and getting locked in place “Uh, why didn’t this happen before?”
“You did not wield magic before” He said casting a spell as a fiery cat appears lunging at me
I couldn’t dodge as I took the hit and yet despite how much it hurt I felt that I resisted the attack. With it being my turn I grabbed a random card and did what felt like instinct tracing a Omnitrix symbol in front of the floating card leaving a green symbol. I pushed against the spell releasing a Ball Weevil of my exact image as it rolled around and threw an enormous ball at my opponent.
“Woah” I said looking down at my hands “I know magic wait till I tell Gwen”
“It's rather unimpressive if that's your best” The dragon says summoning a red bird that dives into me
The hit was rather painful as I took a knee, but seeing as this was turn based I thought I could cheat and wait for as long as I needed to recover but the sight of the smiling dragon left me uneasy. Soon he casted another spell which shocked me while letting me know that I have a time limit
“Prepare for your doom” The Dragon says summoning snow onto the battlefield and a hat that glides to the floor
“You making a snowman or something?” I joke not realizing he was indeed making a snowman that was carrying a scythe which was probably a sign that this would hurt
The summon slid over to me as it slashed across my chest hurting a lot more than the prior attacks.
“You lost as soon as you took this battle” The dragon boasts standing tall
“Even I know a duel like this can always be flipped on its head” I said drawing another card and repeating the summoning process which released an angry Humungousaur upon the field as it grew to its maximum height and stomp the dragon into the floor winning the battle.
“Ok I wasn’t expecting this” A familiar women's voice spoke from behind me catching my attention “Sorry I was caught up in something”
“How’d you find me?” I asked taking a pair of plumber hand cuffs and using them on the dragon
“Just follow the destruction and you’re sure to find Ben” Ester joked “That’s what aliens around here say”
Ester had grown slightly taller, donning a black leather jacker with pink fur and dark purple pants. She also wears black boots, light blue gloves and a black bandana which looks nice with her long pink hair.
“Gee thanks” I said “Makes me feel like a hero”
“Oh, I’m only joking with you Ben” She chuckled stepping next to me
“You ever seen one of these guys before?” I asked still cuffing the drake
“Dragons” She said almost as if it was a curse but she paused after she said it “never liked em”
I took note of him saying that I wonder what history they had if she was talking like this
“Uh yeah that's what they said” I eyed Ester “You had a run in with these guys?”
“Yeah, I actually wanted to talk to you about it” Ester said sounding serous “It’s why I called you to meet me today”
“And you said leave Rook and the Plumbers out of it which is gonna be a little difficult” I state looking at all the destruction around “Listen I trust you but I can't exactly hide this”
“Yeah I know it's just” Ester seems to look at something behind me as she pushes me to the floor as she grabbed by a snake with wings “Ben!”
“I’m coming Ester!” I yelled becoming Jetray giving chase but she quickly zips through a portal “Damn it” I spin around to the hole in the ground figuring they’d know where she was
The first ones I wanted to interrogate were group of drakes I took down but they seemed to have cleared the scene. That left the Kraken and the Drake I defeated in undertown but even they were gone with no trace.
“I’m not letting them get away” I said turning into Clockwork and replaying the events that transpired only to see the dragons picked themselves up and ran off. Back in undertown the replay showed a hooded figure make a portal and grab the two creatures in the short time I left.
If Ester doesn’t want to talk about what she’s going through I’ll keep it secret, but I’ll stretch the answers out of her. In the meantime I have to make a couple calls to some people who’ll worry about me being missing.
“Hey Gwen, I guess you're busy but I’m about to jump through a magic portal” I sighed “I know I shouldn’t, but I fought some dragons and they kidnapped Ester so worse case I’m back by Tuesday”
She’s gonna talk my ear off even Kevin couldn’t get her off of me but that's for the future.
“Hey Rook I know you're on a secret mission or whatever but I’ll be gone before you return so I’m calling to stop you from worrying I mean it's me” I joked “Saved the universe dozens of times y’know”
I know Rooks gonna nag me when I get back but he’s just gotta stop being scared for me even if it makes him the best partner in the world.
“Grandpa Max a little shocked you didn’t answer” I chuckled “I may miss dinner on Sunday totally not on purpose” I look up at the sky “We should do something when I get back”
I transformed into my Dragon form copying the spell and diving through as I witnessed a sight that shook me. It was a mix between outer space and a sky, the purple clouds circled below with distant stars above it was like nothing I've seen before. Weirdly enough little islands in bubbles float around some closer than others but they all seemed to spiral around a certain world.
I was going to check it out when a ship full of the same Dragons I was fighting sailed into my line of sight. The right thing to do would be to sneak on and search for Ester before I take any action.
“Hey you lizard faced bastards” I yelled summoning Four Arms to knock the reptiles teeth in “Where’s Ester?!” I exclaimed but they seemed to keep their lips shut “Have it your way” I summoned Gravattack and picked them up before slamming them through the deck.
“Stop Tennyson you’ll destroy the ship” A voice said from behind catching my attention
It was the younger me from before but what was he doing on our ship and why does he talk like that? But my eye was caught by another person coming up from the deck, it being my nanite friend from another world but he looked different.
“Rex? You’re looking horrible” I blurted before coving my mouth but he walked over smiling oddly enough our last conversation was a month ago but I’m always happy to see him
“And you're looking scaly Ben” He replied as he raised his hand up as I followed
He looked terrible compared to when saw him but he looked good in his own little creepy villain way.
“Another adventure through worlds I’ll show you the ropes on your first trip” I said paying no mind to my surroundings
“I’ll do you one better” Rex replied dapping my hand and grabbing it, I was a little confused giving him a weird look before he punched me off the ship with the other “You explore on your own”
The sucker punch left me spiraling towards one of the world bubbles as I crashed through falling towards the city streets.
