Happy Valentine's Day. Or single's appreciation day. Or Saturday.

Work Text:

There was rarely such a thing as an imperfect day, at least in terms of weather, on Quesadilla Island.
But this was definitely near the top of the list, both when it came to weather and hopefully in general.

Not a cloud in the sky, the temperature was warm but not overbearingly so, the occasional breeze kept them company, and the most beautiful girl in the world was holding their daughters' hand to keep her from bouncing out of her skin, swinging arms and giggling as the group made their way to the clearing, Bagi carrying the basket behind them.

Suddenly there was a squeal, not one of danger, but one of excitement, followed by an "Emmy!" and Tina with a now empty hand.
"It's perfect, Mamãe!"
The little girl signed, then ran through the field of flowers, the fluffy ends of her light pink dress trailing behind.

"Bagi, I think this as good a place as any, I don't think she's gonna let us leave."
Tina turned her body slightly to look at the taller girl, giggling, standing on tiptoes and bonking her forehead against Bagi's gently.

"It's perfect, Tina."
The picnic spot wasn't so bad either.

The American unzipped her backpack and unfolded the small checkered blanket to place in a mostly clear spot besides some of the flowers, Bagi joining her in a sit once it was laid out and placed the basket in the middle, Empanada chasing a butterfly through the field close by.

"Should we try to get her over here so she can eat something?"
Tina tilted her head in the direction of the child with matching pigtails, except hers were blonde, who was finally sitting with a collection of flowers in her lap.
"Hm, good luck with that."
Bagi giggled and shook her head, not unkindly.

"It's okay, Tina, tudo bem. Let her have fun for a while, she will get hungry eventually."
"You're right, you're right. Oh, speaking of!"

Tina set out three individually wrapped triangles of sandwiches, a small bag of cherries, a small bottle of juice and three paper cups, and a small bag of goldfish crackers in case Empanada needed any convincing.

"Here, let me."
Bagi lifted and uncorked the juice and filled two of the small cups, offering one to Tina, tilting her own drink forward slightly.

"Saúde!"
Tina's smile reached the corners of her eyes, and she bumped their cups together.
"Cheers!"

A bit of time had passed, not long, but enough for the the two women to be getting a bit hungry.
Tina had adjusted to be half laying against the taller, sitting between Bagi's legs and her back against the other's torso, both relaxed as the afternoon sun turned to evening and Empanada still sat in the flower field, cups half full and sitting beside them.

"Wanna have some of those cherries until Em's ready to join us?"
Tina made a noise of complaint, settling her head against the Brazilian's collarbone.
"Cozy."

Bagi smirked, leaning her head down a bit to give a peck of a kiss to the tip of the American girl's nose.
"Come on, I don't have to reach far, and you can go right back to being comfy."

"Ugh, fiiiine."
She acted faux annoyed.
"But only cause you did that."
She wrinkled her nose to get her point across, which Bagi booped with a finger, then grabbed the fruit.

As soon as Tina settled back, Bagi tapped a finger under the girl's chin, having her tilt her head back and make eye contact.
"Open."

Tina's pupils grew at the question, eyes darkening slightly, her Adam's apple bobbed as she swallowed, nodding, lowering her jaw for the other girl.
Bagi dangled the cherry above her lips for a moment, but didn't tease, letting her close her lips around the fruit, before separating the stem and twirling it between her fingers.

"Como eles estão?"
She chewed, her brown eyes still a bit sparkly, then nodded.

"Want a taste?"
The Brazilian raised an eyebrow, slightly mischievous, smiling.
"Well I wouldn't say no."

And just as Tina lifted her form ever so slightly and Bagi parted her lips just barely to prepare them in a kiss.

"Wh-"
Something was plopped gently on Tina's head, followed by a giggle not from either of them, and then the same thing happened to Bagi.

"Hey, you!"
"Empanada!"

There was now a little girl giggling as she crossed her legs in a sit on the blanket, gap from a missing front tooth visible behind the fingers that didn't completely cover her mouth, shrugging her shoulders as she picked up one of the sandwiches.
Both adults now wearing slightly too big flower crowns, one made with small white and pink ones, one made with small white and purple ones.

"Thank you, Emmy!"
The child sitting across from them straightened her back and smiled proudly as she ate, eyes shifting to the taller.
"It is beautiful, Empanada!"
The girl nodded matter of factly, taking another bite.

"Thank you for bringing us here, Bagi, it's been wonderful."
Tina leaned forward and kissed the Brazilian girl quickly, then picked up the bag just beside them.
"That was the plan."
Bagi grinned, lowering her jaw enough for the other to give her a cherry.
