pretty girls involved with me (making pretty love to me)

Summary:

Briar nods, but she wasn't there at the moment. “Good for you, got any advice for me so I can ask a goddess to dance?” she said in a sarcastic, monotonous voice with a smile.

Cupid blinks. “Who's the ‘goddess’ in question, here?”

“You know… she's tall, has green eyes, and she has a thing for shoes.” Cupid gasps automatically like she already knows who Briar was referring to, but when she turns her head and looks back at her, she squeals even more.

True Hearts Day but it's centered around Brilynn and Rapple type shit or something like that.

Work Text:

Briar doesn't know how long she's been looking at bodie grinding against each other like they weren't underage, yet here she is, standing in an isolated corner and nursing a red solo cup with Vodka inside filled to the brim, she only had two sips so she shouldn't be that drunk.

But that's not the main reason for her being alone, she was originally gonna ask Ashlynn to be her date for the True Hearts Day Dance before Apple embarrassed her and convinced her and Hunter to break up.

That didn't stop her from slow dancing with him though… and in Briar's cold-blooded defense, she's pissed off now. Her hand gripped the cup as she gulped the last bit of alcohol down her throat, now she stood there–still boring holes into the opposed couple who wasn't even supposed to be together.

When she saw Ashlynn getting spinned around and pulled back into his body, she wished that was her–her hand lingering onto Ashlynn's for a nanosecond and just to pull her back afterwards, she also wished that she wasn't devoted sometimes.

God forbid a devoted, useless lesbian, I guess.

Cupid was approaching her with a smiley face (meaning she somehow pulled Dexter, despite him having deep feelings for Raven).

“I finally got him, Briar!” She exclaimed cheerly while squealing too enthusiastic for Briar's eardrums, fuck, she almost busted them.

Briar nodded, but she wasn't there at the moment. “Good for you, got any advice for me so I can ask a goddess to dance?” She said in a sarcastic, monotonous voice with a smile.

Cupid blinked. “Who's the ‘goddess’ in question, here?”

“You know… she's tall, has green eyes, and she has a thing for shoes.” Cupid gasped automatically like she already knows who Briar was referring to, but when she turned her head and looks back at her, she squealed even more.

“It's Ashlynn?! She's your true heart's desire?!”

“Bingo.” She smiled nervously. “Can you tell her to come here for a second? I just wanna talk to her.”

“Mhm, I'll be right back!”

“Fuck.” Briar uttered, now refocusing on the crowd, she saw Cupid bouncing eagerly with Ashlynn's arm looping through hers, and she felt even more jealous than before, she almost screamed and ran out, but she stayed composed and calm, there's nothing going on with Ashlynn and Cupid… they're just friends, right?

Her hands clenched and unclenched, now plastering a smile just for her–and her only

“Hi Ashlynn.” Briar said sweetly, alongside the venomous edge in her voice, she tried to keep it cool and calm, not cool and aggressive.

“Hey… you okay? Your face looks… forget it. Nice party!” Ashlynn shouted over the music, making Briar groan, damn why is everyone so loud today?

“Uh-huh, thanks.”

Ashlynn's face shifted into something more softer than before. “Are you okay, seriously?”

“I think so or I'm just drunk out of my mind, but thanks for your concern.”

“You're drunk.” Ashlynn said it like it's a scientific fact, she rolled her eyes and takes her hand to the entrance, now pushing the door open and sitting down on the concrete.

“Do you wanna breathe in and out or continue getting wasted all night?”

“I'd rather dance with you,” Briar said, her voice on the verge of tears. “A girl… like you should be treated like a princess is made to be, not being everyone's slave. You're too kind for your own good, and I hate to break it to you, Ash, but I'm in love with you. And I'm asking you to dance with me for the last time… please?”

Ashlynn doesn't know what to say, instead she pulls her in for a kiss on her cheek, pushing a few strands of hair out of her face. “Did you really have to ask? Of course I'd dance with you, my prettiest knight.”

The song was a slow-paced, rhythmical instrumental that everyone was dancing to in their own little world, Ashlynn's hand guided hers onto the floor as they started dancing, Briar was a little stiff (and accidentally stepped on her foot, but she didn't pay attention to it).

“You know,” Briar started quietly, “this might be the greatest night of my life, like, getting to dance with the girl of my dreams– but aren't you mad at Apple for splitting you two up?”

Ashlynn has her head laying on her shoulder as they sway side to side. “Well.. not inherently, it had to be done somehow, and to be honest with you.. I felt uncomfortable with him being a rebel in the first place. I never wanted a charming prince, but I've always wanted a charming princess to save me, y'know?”

That got an earnest laugh out of Briar. “And who's that charming princess?”

“You.”

Briar blushed profusely before she could stop it. “Oh, oh my Grimm.”

Ashlynn closed her eyes. “I love you with all my heart, I hope you know that.”

From afar, she can easily see Raven and Apple cheering on them subtly, but she didn't care about them, instead, she decided to keep dancing with her destined princess in her arms.

“Love you too.”

“They are so adorable! What do you think, Raven?” Apple said to her before she realized her best friend was still moping over Dexter.

“They're cute and all, but what about Dexter and Cupid? What about my true heart's desire… I don't even have a pretty girl to dance with–”

“You have me to dance with.” Apple blurted out accidentally. “I mean… you have me, as a friend, to dance with!”

Raven stared at her with a soft glistening in her eyes. “Do you want to dance as just my ‘friend’?” She asked the question so innocently that Apple might throw up right about now.

“Well…no! We can be more than… friends? I'm willing to dance with you.”

Raven smirked. “Really?”

“Yes, yes. Anything.”

“Lead the way, Princess Apple.” Raven giggled before Apple joined in too, now being guided into the bodies of smelling sweat, perfume and bodyspray.

“Today was a surprisingly good day for me.” Apple said when she laid her head against Raven's chest.

“Despite you going out of your way and breaking up a cute couple… yeah, today was perfect for you, huh?” Raven teased, but there was no malice.

“Oh shut up, you big kidder.” Apple kissed her on the lips. “Happy True Hearts Day, Raven.”

“Same goes to you, Apple.”
