Setting: Westeros
Location: The Great Sept of the King’s Landing-The Red Keep
It had been months following the almost sudden yet unsurprising demise of King Viscerys. The deterioration of his body due to his advanced age and increasingly frail health having finally caught up to him. Resulting in Rhaenyra having been crowned the new reigning monarch of their kingdom in his stead. To the resounding cheers of those in attendance. The loudest having emanated from her family and from the nobles who’d hoped to use such outward displays of loyalties to incur her favor.
Currently however, the court was preparing for a different occasion. The union of Crown Princess Baela, the queen’s daughter by her wife and mate Laena, and Princess Helaena. Daughter of Queen Alicent by Viscerys.
The circumstances setting their union into motion had been unorthodox however. For the king, while he’d yet drawn breath, had originally arranged for Helaena to be betrothed to his son Aegon. Yet Helaena, whose heart yearned only for Baela while not wishing to be wedded to someone of Aegon’s reputation, had used the moment her heat had activated to seduce and lay with Baela. The young alpha having been overcome with compassion and their shared affections towards each other. Combined with their baser desires as an alpha and omega. Especially with the latter having been afflicted by her then severe heat.
Not to mention that Baela cared nothing about her brother’s potentially wounded pride over her claiming his intended. Unyielding in her inward belief that he certainly did not deserve Helaena.
Originally their mothers had disapproved of their actions. And even after ascertaining that Baela had in no way forced herself upon Helaena, but that it was actually the omega who’d initiated their encounter, they were nonetheless scolded for their recklessness. Especially considering the scandalous nature of their mating since Helaena was not another nameless and lowborn omega conquest of Baela’s but an actual princess.
Something which could could’ve ruined her chances of receiving another betrothed if Aegon and his late father had elected to end her betrothal to the aforementioned prince. Due to the pertaining circumstances.
Yet Helaena had made abundantly clear to her mother that Baela was the one she desired and deeply loved. The one she wanted to wed her and to be her mate and alpha. Not Aegon.
Thankfully Baela had proven herself to be honorable. Having not intended to marry anyone at present yet not desiring for Helaena to suffer alone because of their actions. Plus she’d confessed her fondness for Helaena.
Viserys had originally also disproved of what his granddaughter had done with his daughter. While Aegon has been furious regarding what had transpired between the younger women. Though it more likely it was due to the sheer embarrassment of being cuckolded by Baela. And in turn a violation of his own honor since Helaena had been intended for him. Even if the latter may have been correct regarding her sentiments that he did not desire that marriage anymore than she did.
Nevertheless Viserys had reluctantly permitted his daughter to be wed to Baela instead of Aegon. To prevent Helaena from being disgraced.
It was during the preparations for Baela’s and Helaena’s wedding however that Viserys would pass from their world. Resulting in the necessity of it being postponed due to the kingdom entering a period of mourning. Followed shortly thereafter by Rhaenyra ascending to the throne.
Unbeknownst to all of their subjects however and in between the leadership transition, Alicent, Rhaenyra, and Laena had engaged in a heartfelt discussion. Realizing that not only did the hearts of the first 2 women still burn bright for each other but that there was also a building attraction between Alicent and Laena. And the latter 2 admitted to being keen to explore it. To which Rhaenyra had provided her blessings for. All of which had eventually resulted in a polyamorous relationship emerging amongst themselves.
A relationship which a significant number of their subjects found shocking. Even more so when Rhaenyra had formally announced her intention to take Alicent as her second wife alongside Laena. Following the upcoming wedding involving her daughter and Helaena.
No one had been more stunned however than their children and Laena’s parents. Said parents having presented very strong feelings pertaining to these developments within their daughter’s life. Though Laena had responded by making her own feelings abundantly clear to them. And in no uncertain terms.
Baela and Helaena, once they’d recovered from their own surprise, were delighted for their mothers. Pledging their support for the love shared between the 3 older women. Helaena seeing it as another opportunity to further expand their family. In addition to the babe currently growing within her womb. Which she’d conceived by Baela sometime following their official betrothal.
Following all of this, the younger couple had suggested the idea that Alicent and Rhaenyra’s upcoming wedding be merged with theirs. The mothers and daughters being united in marriage with their respective partners in a joint ceremony.
The princesses idea had left each of the 3 older women greatly surprised. Yet intrigued. At first Alicent and Rhaenyra had attempted to refuse. Worried their agreeing to it would somehow dampen their daughters moment.
Helaena and Baela would not be dissuaded however. Instead managing to convince them that it would make their own union all the more special due to their respective mothers sharing that moment with them by coming together alongside them.
To their delight, their words achieved the desired intent upon the aforementioned older women. Rhaenyra and Alicent finally consenting to the other couple’s wishes. And so the original wedding plans were restructured to reflect this new reality. One which the mothers currently found as pleasing as their daughters.
Though a life threatening incident nearly interrupted it. Manifesting itself in an assassination attempt against Alicent and at the hands of Vaeraya Targaryen. Having cornered Alicent one evening while brandishing a dagger. Implying her involvement in the mysterious deaths of Lord Corlys and his wife.
Thankfully that terrifying moment did not transpire the way Vaeraya had intended. Instead Alicent had managed to retain her life by defending herself against her would be murderer. Although she did not escape the attempt unscathed. Wounds having been inflicted upon during the attack against her. Rhaenayra however, who’d arrived upon the scene and witnessed the attempt and following a fierce struggle, managed to slay Vaeraya in defense of both Alicent and herself. Vaeraya having turned the dagger on Rhaenyra. After which and following Alicent’s recovery, the 4 women’s wedding plans would continue unimpeded.
The day eventually arrived in which the ceremony would commence. Baela and Helaena standing on one side and Alicent with Rhaenyra situated close beside them.
Baela dressed in a gorgeous red and black attire. Consisting of breaches and a coat. While decorated with gold upon its fringes. Her hair styled in a long braid.
Helaena meanwhile was dressed in a green and white gown. Gold and silver dragon images having been sown into its bodice.
Rhaenyra and Alicent were also dressed in their own regal uniforms. Both women wearing their white and crimson Valyrian attire. With strands of braided gold around Alicent’s head. Uniforms fit for queens. Which is exactly what they were. And Alicent having been escorted into the room by Ser Harold Westerling.
Both couples were positioned upon the big sept of King’s Landing and near a pair of brass braziers, large in size, and stood before the officiator. Who turned out to be Laena herself in the function of a priestess. Dressed in white and red Valyrian attire.
Laena then commenced the ceremony by conducting a chant from a piece of high Valyrian poetry. Said poetry calling upon the old Valyrian deities to protect and bless the union between omega and alpha. Celebrating it.
Once the chant concluded, Rhaenyra and Alicent, following the Valyrian Rites, used a miniature ornate knife to gently slice each other’s lip. Taking turns with Rhaenyra going first. The 2 of them drawing blood. After which they took turns pressing their respective thumbs against the other’s wound. Before removing their now bloodied thumbs then placing them against the other’s forehead. Drawing a vertical line downwards from their foreheads to above their noses. Rhaenyra first and then Alicent.
The next step of that aspect of the ceremony consisted of Rhaenyra using the aforementioned knife to draw a gash within the palm of her hand. Alicent on her part grasping ahold of the Queen Regent’s bleeding hand and squeezing it with affection. “Nyra” being softly whispered from Alicent’s lovely lips.
Laena then directed her attention to her daughter and soon to be daughter in law.
“Princess Baela. You both may now cloak your bride and bring her under your protection,” she instructed the crown princess.
In response, Baela removed the cloak positioned across her right arm and then draped it around Helaena’s shoulders.
Afterwards Laena produced a thin white strip. And after instructing Helaena to position the palm of her right hand above the back of the left hand of the former’s daughter, she wrapped said strip around the wrists of their joined hands.
“By the sight of the seven, I hereby seal the souls of this couple. Binding them for eternity,” she said to them. “Now look upon one another. And say the words.”
Afterwards Baela and Helaena turned and faced each other.
“Father. Smith. Warrior. Mother. Maiden. Crone. Stranger. I am hers. And she is mine. From this day until my last day,” they spoke simultaneously. Gazing upon each other with adoration.
With the younger brides portion of the ceremony concluded, Laena produced a cloth, silver and red, and wrapped it around the still joined hands of her wife and Alicent.
“All of us,” stated Laena.
“Together,” Alicent agreed. Them affirming the newfound bond now shared between the 3 of them.
Ser Criston then handed to Laena a silver chalice containing a type of wine that was spicy and strong. Who then handed it over to the older brides. The 2 of them drinking said wine until the chalice’s contents had been completely drained.
“My loves,” was then softly heard from Rhaenyra. Addressing her 2 wives. No one else unable to hear them except for their daughters. Who fondly smiled upon them.
With the marital bonds of both couples sealed and with Laena’s urging while said omega smiled affectionately, Alicent tightly enfolded Rhaenyra within her arms and pressed their lips together. While Baela cupped Helaena’s face and leaned forward. Both sets of newlyweds kissing deeply and passionately. Helaena caressing her alpha’s braid as they embraced while Rhaenyra meanwhile breathed in the scent of her new wife. Whose floral scent ended up mingling with Laena’s salty scent.
Rhaenyra’s kiss with Alicent ended up lasting longer than intended. Their mouths opening slightly wider and their kiss deepening further.
Baela and Helaena, noticing that and in response, allowed their own kiss to deepen more than it was. Attempting to outdo their elders. Rhaenyra and Alicent meanwhile noticed what the younger brides were doing and ascertaining the reason, elected to play along. The moment evolving into a borderline kissing contest. To the guests amusement.
Laena meanwhile was grinning at the pertaining scene yet beginning to realize that those passionate moments were starting to extend a little too past propriety. Therefore she coughed loudly and pointedly. Resulting in her lovers, daughter, and daughter in law promptly disengaging from their embraces. All of them blushing madly.
Afterwards there was heard the enthusiastic cry of “Long live our queens!” from Baela. After which everyone in attendance including her family, except for Aegon, Daemon, and the latter’s children who were not present due to having elected not to attend the wedding, followed her lead while also cheering for the younger brides. Their cries filling the gardens. Laena’s cheers among the loudest of them. Including her other children with Rhaenyra. Their son Luke displaying his avid enthusiasm by jumping up and down. Including throughout the brides ceremony.
Aemond meanwhile had his own views regarding his sister’s marriage to Baela. Yet kept quiet out of respect and courtesy towards Helaena and her special day.
Ser Otto possessed enough sense to remain silent and to do nothing but applaud for Baela and Helaena. Just as much as he was required to do the same for their mothers. Especially since his primary investment was preserving influence within the court. Even if it was extremely minuscule.
The couples then proceeded to the wedding feast. Where they ate, drank, and made merry with their guests. Content over how everything had turned out. Pleased for each other while exchanging beaming smiles. In addition to the mothers and daughters being grateful to have shared in this moment of bliss together. Both sets of newlyweds also looking forward to spending the remainder of their lives together. Baela with Helaena. And Rhaenyra with Alicent. And the latter 2 with Laena. Loving each other all of their days. United in their love for their partners and bound together forevermore by their love as a family. While the Seven Kingdoms now had three queens. Rhaenyra, Alicent, and Laena. With Rhaenyra, its fortunate ruler, having two queens for herself. Two women she deeply loved.
