Chapter Text
He was born Leonard Lightning McQueen, his mom called him Leo.
He called him Lightning, He only ever called Leo Lightning. He was his father, not that the young boy thought of Him as such, not really.
He insisted that Leo needed to be fast. He had hit him sometimes, telling him that if was faster, better, smarter, he wouldn't have gotten hit.
Sometimes his mom was able to protect him; make him feel safe.
Then one day she disappeared, according to their neighbors and her friends, just gone.
Of course, Leo never had a chance to even think for a moment that his mother had abandoned him. He killed her right in front of the poor boy, threatening him into silence and complacency. After the wretch of a man had his career ended so early, he was determined to insanity to see it through.
For Leo it was a long time before he felt safe again, and even longer for the feeling to last.
