Chapter Text
He knew that he was set up from his birth. Ever since he took his first breath they deemed him the one. He was the one to be the reincarnation of Noli himself. Chosen by the void star he was to be sacrificed at 18 to be reborn as the god himself. His future was set in stone and there was no changing it; is what he would believe.
He belonged to the Void Cult. The cult claimed that they were his family, but they only said that to lie about his parents. His own mother, died after giving birth to him. His father, became a servant to him, cleaning up the messes he did, he barely acted like a father. Siblings, less you count his religious siblings, he had none; he was an only child. Pets, he had little time to ever care for them. Friends, he had one, but they were not a part of the cult.
His life was mostly of him preparing for his rebirth. He had to be perfect. Any imperfections were met with punishment. Anything that isn't religious texts or about the void star were looked down upon. Any time to enjoy his childhood was instead studying for anything. He thought that the world was studying, eating and sleeping. Nothing else. This unending cycle. An ouroboros. It was all the same until his 11th birthday.
"SwAeJuDiNoli, young sir. Wake up. Everyone is waiting for you in the dining hall." Spoke ASPX.
"Just tell them to wait. I'm too busy sleeping." Replied Noli in a tired and annoyed tone.
"Ah, but it's your birthday is it not?" Replied ASPX. Just then, Noli immediately stood up from the bed and looked at ASPX.
"Why didn't you tell me before!" Shouted the kid before jumping out of his bed. As Noli dashed for the closet, he immediately went to grab his garments and head to the bathroom and change. As ASPX waited for him, she started to ponder on the reaction the kid might have. As Noli left the bathroom. He headed towards ASPX and grabbed her hand to walk towards the dining hall.
As the two of them walked there, Noli noticed the face of ASPX. Despite the fact that she attempted to keep a straight face, it felt a bit gloomy. He wanted to ask her what was wrong, but he felt that he should just not ask and ruin the mood.
As both of them arrived at the dining hall, Noli saw only two people. ReverseASPX and the Father. As Noli sat in his chair, Father looked at him, then at ReverseASPX before looking back at him.
"Well SwAeJuDiNoli, it seems that the time has arrived." Said Father.
"What has arrived?" Asked Noli. Then ReverseASPX came back with a gift. He gave it to Father who then slid it to Noli. Father nodded at Noli. Probably a sign of approval for opening the gift.
As Noli opened the gift he carefully undid the black bow that was on the gift. He tried to not tear off the purple wrapping paper that covered the box. When he finished he saw a thin white box. As he lifted the cover he noticed the oddity of the gift. This wasn't a book about the void star, religious texts or even just some candles. It was school clothes.
"Everyone has agreed that you are eligible to leave the voidgrounds and be able to attend school." Spoke Father. Noli quickly looked up at Father.
"I get to leave the voidgrounds?" Noli asked in delight.
"Yes young sir. In two weeks you'll be able to attend school. Although we have made some rules to make sure that you don't stray afar or accidentally consume any propaganda." Father explained to Noli.
"What does that mean?" Noli asked.
"It means that your time at school will only be for education. Anything that is not education is prohibited." Father replied to Noli's question. Noli looked at Father before he looked at the uniform.
He gets to go to school but not do anything besides learn. He remembered he once asked some of the children that did attend school. Most of them say that it's a bit boring but the best thing about it is spending time with friends and doing things you love.
"Can I at least have a friend outside the cult? Just one." Noli spoke. He was afraid that Father would say no. He knew better than to disobey Father.
"If they are willing to acknowledge the void star then yes." Father responded. Noli looked up at Father who just stood up and walked away.
"You will wake up for school at 6 am so that you may not arrive late." Father stated before he stood up and left the room. ASPX came and took the box of clothes.
"These shall be in your closet." She said, before she disappeared. While ASPX left the dining hall ReverseASPX arrived to Noli with a plate full of food.
"Here is your breakfast young sir." Spoke ReverseASPX before setting down a plate of pancakes.
"Thank you." Noli replied in joy. He barely ever gets anything sweet to eat. It's mostly just oatmeal or some toast with milk. Maybe next time he'll ask for some cake or waffles. He decided that he'll choose later when another special occasion arrives. For now it was him and his pancakes.
