Work Text:
Walker and Sam, Sam and Walker. That's how everyone spoke of them in their personal life's. Neither mind. It was just a typical Saturday, both walking to the corner store near Walkers house.
~~~
"Dude thats not what I said-" Sam laughs and smacks walkers shoulder, rolling his eyes.
"Okay but close enough- seriously man who says they like men like that?!" Walker was laughing and wheezing, thoroughly amused
Sam had said something along the lines of "I only want men", to which of course walker said something about how gross that sounded. He knew he wasn't meaning it like that. Deep down, Walker hated the thought of Sam with someone else. It made him feel a deep sense of jealousy and loss. He knew it wasn't fair to be jealous, Sam had every right to be with anybody else.
"You in there?" Sam speaks, trying to snap Walker out of his daze.
"Yeah I'm here. Sorry" Walker wants to play it off but sees the concern written across his face. "Just thinking I guess."
"About Soph?" Jealousy strikes Sam like a match, though he tries to play it cool.
"Uh..yah" a lie but..better than admitting Walker was thinking about him.
"Well she was a loser anyways, always making fun of people. You really should find somebody else." Maybe it came off too bitter. No it definitely did based on Walkers face. Sam was screwed.
"I mean I guess- are you feeling alright?" Walker could sense the bitterness
They had made it to the store and got snacks and now were finally ready for movie night.
A bit into the movie, walker goes to make them sandwiches, pb and jam.
Sam walks into the kitchen after a few minutes to remind Walker to use raspberry jam- only to walk in and see him already using it. Sam's heart melts and his stomach flutters. To walker it was simple, but to Sam it meant the world. He hugs walker from behind and buries his face into his neck. Most people didn't really memorize much about him.
"Woah, hey- is everything okay?" Walkers heart flutters as he sets down the spoon and bread. He turns around and hugs Sam.
"You remembered" he whispers quietly, smiling as his eyes watered with joy and happiness.
"Of course, you're one of the most important people in my life." Walker utters without a moments of hesitation.
That night, Walker laid in bed with Sam, both in boxers and a tshirt. Walker turned towards Sam and pulled him closer, ignoring the protests from Sam about his chest. "I don't care how flat your chest is Sammy." He leans down, smiling. Sam looks up, the air thick with tension. As Sam leans in, so does Walker. Soon the best friends are kissing, the only light being the moonlight.
Sam pulls away first "what was that for?" Shock, fear, confusion, it all laces his voice.
"I love you, Sammy" Walker whispers, gently cupping his cheek and stroking it with his thumb.
"..I love you too" Sam leans in once more.
~~~
The next morning, Sam had encountered Leena on the way to the bathroom. Her keen eye didn't miss the blunt hickey on Sam's neck. She smirks but says nothing.
