Chapter Text
Tonight was the night.
Tonight was the night they were finally gonna tell him. They had been keeping this a secret from him for quite some time, but not anymore. It's been six months of being married to him. This was the least he deserved.
It was hard to believe it had been over twenty-five years since she accidentally reincarnated inside of an imp's body, all so that she could research the behaviors of the exterminations. It had also been a little over a decade since she has shared her soul with the natural one of this body.
The two of them were initially freaked out when they found out there were two souls living inside an imp's body, but they quickly became fond of one another, acting like sisters, which they enjoyed. Even the imp's family took the revelation well, considering the imp was a week over 13 when it happened, and they graciously accepted the angel soul within her with open arms.
Outside of them, no one else knew.
Of course, they had their fair share of close calls. Because the imp could use the angel's powers as well, due to their souls sharing the imp's body, they had almost been caught, but thankfully, they were always killed right before they could say anything, so still. No one knew about their secret, aside from their imp family.
But now, it was time for their husband to know too.
The imp being reflected in the mirror took a huge deep breath, getting her bearings together. "You can do this, Millie." She said to herself in her wrathian accent. "He deserves to know who you really are, no matter his reaction. You can do this." She wasn't gonna lie when she said she was extremely nervous about what Moxxie's reaction would be, but she - no, they - knew he deserved to know.
She walked out of the bathroom, just in time for Moxxie to finish setting up dinner for them. "Millie! Hi!" He greeted upon noticing his wife.
"Heya, Mox!" She greeted back, putting on an excited demeanor to prepare herself - themselves - a little more.
The next ten minutes were spent making small talk at their dinner table, eating their meal, before Millie couldn't hold it in anymore.
She looked to her husband to get his attention. "Hey, Mox? There's somethin' I need to tell you. Somethin' important." Moxxie directly made eye contact with her, a little nervous about what she might say. She took in a huff of breath before beginning. "Let me ask ya this: Do you know what D.I.D. is?"
"Dissociative Identity Disorder? Yeah, I know of it." He responded, before he made a frightening guess. "Wait. Do... Do you have that?"
This was it. This was the moment. Say it. "... Sort of." She answered, making him look at her confused. However, she didn't answer in her wrathian accent. She answered in her other voice. From the other soul within her body.
This made Moxxie even more confused. "Uhhh... Why did you lose your accent?"
"See, the thing is that WE have a similar case to that, but a little different than usual." Millie explained, still using that other voice. "For you see, we don't just have one soul." She then waved her hands, which were now glowing, over her chest to reveal two souls in there. One red & one blue. "We have two."
Moxxie was now staring in shock. This was not what he expected to happen tonight. His wife suddenly had powers, ones that looked suspiciously similar to an angel's, & he did indeed see two souls within his wife. What did this mean? Doesn't a body typically have only one inhabiting it?
... Wait a minute.
"There's two people in that body?" He guessed, which made his wife - wives? - let out a sigh of relief. Okay, so he had been correct.
"Yep! Ya got that right!" Millie said, in her accent now. "Now, ya might be wonderin' why ah'm bringin' this up with ya? Well, it's a long story, so get ya'self comfy." He did just that, by moving to their couch with them, before beginning.
"So, back when ah was a teenager, it was a week after ah turned into one when I suddenly got in intense body pain. However, as soon as it happened, it stopped almost instantly. Then, I began hearin' another voice in my head, while feelin' a new surge of power, & an influx of memories that didn't belong to me. That's when I looked in the mirror & saw this." She then unfurled six white wings from behind her back, & a halo crown above her head, which was color-mixed red & blue. Her right eye also changed from yellow sclera to blue as well.
Moxxie looked absolutely astonished. If you told him that his wife was going to confess to him that she had another soul living in her body, an entirely separate person, that happened to be an actual angel, he would've shot you dead in the eyes for even thinking that crazy.
All he could say, upon seeing his wife's true form, was "... Woah." He was speechless.
She retracted her wings & reverted back to her normal self. "Yeah, that was my reaction too. But anyways, ever since then, I've been living with Sera & her soul - that's her name by the way - inside of my body for the last decade or so. And, we were hopin'... would you like to meet her?" She asked, hopeful.
Moxxie thought about it before he answered. "... Yes. I would like to meet this Sera person." He stated, friendly.
Millie smiled at him, so full of thankfulness, as she talked to herself - or what looked like herself - for her other half to come out. "It's okay, Sera. You can come out now." She reassured, before blinding light suddenly surrounded her body as she transformed.
Moxxie had to cover his eyes for a second, but when the light faded away & he looked back, he was in awe at the sight.
In place of Millie was a tall, dark brown woman with long, flowing white hair. She also wore a long white dress, as six wings stuck out her back & a halo crown floated above her head, entirely blue.
As she opened her eyes, both of which were also blue like her halo, she looked at Moxxie, greeting him shyly. "Hello, Moxxie. It's nice to finally meet you." She smiled at him, but she was nervous.
At this point, Moxxie had no more words. He looked at the stunningly gorgeous woman in front of him, a literal angel, & blushed like a madman. It took him a few seconds to get his bearings before greeting her back. "I-It's nice t-to meet you too, S-Sera."
Sera could tell he was nervous, which put her at ease slightly, knowing she wasn't the only one freaking out. Before she could say any reassurances, her husband spoke up again. "Okay, before I ask any more questions, let me get this off my chest, because wow! You... You're absolutely beautiful." He complimented, making the Seraphim blush madly.
"See! I told ya he would love you!" Sera said, but in Millie's voice, weirdly.
"Okay, so you were right." Sera chuckled back, in her regular voice.
That freaked Moxxie out a little. "Wait, wait, wait. Pause for a moment... What the hell was that?" He asked, specifically about the strange interaction with herself that Sera just had, which made her realize he needs to see, in order to believe.
"Hold on one moment." She said before her halo began glowing red & blue, like with Millie before, as suddenly, a physical manifestation of Millie herself appeared.
"Ta-da! Pretty neat trick, huh?" The Wrathian Imp said. "Does this happen to explain our sitch a bit better?"
Moxxie didn't know what she was talking about, until it finally clicked for him. Now he realized what they were trying to tell him: Millie's body inhabited two different souls, one of which belongs to Millie, the other belonging to Millie's body. They could still be able to transform to either appearance for both people, & both could utilize Sera's powers, such as manifesting both souls separately, but it looked like, from their slightly tired faces, that it probably couldn't last long.
They saw his eyes widen, meaning he must've gotten the gist of it. "Actually, yeah. I think I... I understand it now." He stated confidently, making them both smile. However, he wasn't done yet. "But! There's still a few questions I'd like to ask." They both nodded in agreement, since they figured he would need them.
"Okay. First, can you be able to separate each other's souls like this for a long time?"
"Sadly, no." Sera answered. "If it goes on for longer than an hour, we start to suffer massive headaches that are worse than a hangover."
"Yikes, okay. Then secondly, how did you end up getting your soul in Millie's body?"
"Well, to keep a long story short: I originally was going to cast a spell to transfer my soul over to an imp's body, so that way, I could keep an unsuspecting eye on the behaviors of the exterminations. Hellborn are pardoned from it, so it was the best choice. However, when I was casting it, I accidentally chanted the wrong words, & instead of getting transfered, I got reincarnated instead inside of the body of a newborn imp."
"Which just so happened to be me!" Millie chimed in. She then turned to Sera to whisper in her ear. "By the way, I'd like to go back now. Ah don't feel this is necessary anymore." The Angel nodded & brought her soul back to her.
"The thing was though, my soul didn't manifest in her until a week after she turned thirteen. Ever since, we've been very close. And though I'm an unofficial member of Millie's family, they are the only other ones who know of our secret, & they are a wonderful family!"
"Wow, okay. That's... That's a lot." Moxxie said, after a minute of silence when Sera finished their story. "Okay, last question: Am I gonna have to get used to hearing the other person's voice out of your body?"
"Yeah, you're gonna have to get used to that, now that we've revealed who we are." Millie's voice said aloud.
"It'll look weird, but like she said, you'll get used to it." Sera said. She then gained a nervous expression as she decided to get out her question. "Moxxie, do you... do you love me too? I know it's a weird question to ask since we literally just met, but I've seen you through Millie's eyes countless times, & I have developed the same feelings she does for you on my own. So, do you?"
Moxxie looked at her, stunned for a brief moment. He then frantically pulled her into a hug, as he looked up into her big, beautiful eyes. "Sera, you're Millie's other half. Of course I love you, & I want to get to know you more! All your joy, sadness, fears, anger, everything. You're important to Millie, so you're important to me." He confessed as he nuzzled his head into her chest. Her dress was so soft.
The Seraphim in question looked down at him, looking all cutesy from him nuzzling, & she felt a tear of joy drip down her face as she returned the embrace happily.
[Millie: "See! What'd I tell you, sis?"
Sera: "Thank you, Millie, for helping me get over my fears."
Millie: "... No problem, Ser."]
After a while, Millie's voice started coming in. "This was so sweet. Thank you, Mox, so much for your understandin'!"
"No problem, gals."
"But, now that that's over with, there's somethin' Sera wanted to request ya do for her, while I watch."
"What's that?"
Sera then smirked, as she started crawling towards her new imp husband, before grabbing him by his short collar. "You see, I've been lonely for a very long time..." The Angel trailed off, mischievously.
Moxxie realized where this was going, & he blushed like a madman again. "... oh crumbs." He moaned out, before they proceeded to their bedroom.
