Work Text:
There was always something you had to do.
Even on the court, your eyes were never on the ball.
Mine weren't either (They were always on you).
There was always something you had to do.
And I miss when you didn't.
Back then, you leaned on my shoulder, and you told me you loved me.
There was always something you had to do.
It just had nothing to do with me.
And you left before I could say I loved you, too.
There was always something you had to do.
I told you it would get you killed.
It did.
