Chapter 1 - A Home That Isn’t Home

The Turtles and their two human companions, April and Casey, were currently investigating an abandoned laboratory. The reason for this was that Donnie had picked up some strange activity around the area.
They arrived at the laboratory, landing on a nearby rooftop to observe it first, hiding in the shadows.
“Dude, we can’t get a break, can we?” Mikey groaned, annoyed. He just wanted to take a break from all of this already. “I swear all we do is fight,” he muttered.
April put a hand on his shoulder in silent reassurance. “Don’t worry, Mikey. I bet it’s nothing. It could just be a false alarm.”
“False alarm or not, I wanna kick some butt!” Raph exclaimed, cracking his knuckles with a grin.
“Oh hell yeah! Let’s go kick some ass!” Casey exclaimed matching his grin to Ralph’s as they fist-pumped.
“Language!” Leo said sternly. Pinching the bridge of his snout.
“Oh come on Fearless, loosen up.” Ralph taunted as both Casey and Mikey suppressed a laugh, snickering. April just shook her head facepalming.
Leo rolled his eyes at their antics then turned to face Donnie. “Donnie. Any signs of anyone inside?”
Donnie typed something into his heat signature device, checking if anybody was inside. “No, seems to be clear.”
“Alright. Let’s move.” Leo ordered.
They sneaked inside through the window and looked around cautiously. The Laboratory was pretty much abandoned. Seems to have been for years, maybe decades. There was dust everywhere, old chemicals, old machines, old lab equipment, some shattered on the floor, old documents scattered around the lab. For whatever reason this lab was abandoned, it seems that they left in a hurry.
“Yo, this place gives me the creeps dudes..” Mikey said nervously fidgeting with his fingers. Looking around. The place was certainly creepy..
“Oh, toughen up Mikey. It’s not so bad.” Ralph rolled his eyes as he scoffed. There was a tense silence between all of them as they looked around. The silence stretched itself as none of them really spoke. This place was certainly creepy. No wonder none ever came here anymore. It looks haunted..
Donnie then found the source of the weird frequency he got earlier and called the others over. “Guys, Over here!”
They looked at the wall with a weird symbol on it confused. They expected a creepy looking machine, or even a sketchy looking robot. But a wall with a symbol on it? No not at all. The symbol did look weird though..
“seriously? Donnie your thing must be broken. It’s just a stupid wall!” Ralph shouted waving his hands around pointing at the wall frustrated.
”I-.. I don’t understand. It says that some energy is radiating from here.” Donnie muttered confused checking his device again.
“Nah man, did we really just waste our time just cuz your stupid device malfunctioned?” Casey groaned, sighing loudly.
“Tch.” Donnie scoffed rolling his eyes as he kept checking his device.
Mikey got curious and narrowed his eyes looking at the symbol, he began to near the wall then touched the symbol out of pure curiosity.
at first nothing happened. But then suddenly the building shook, taking all of them by surprise, nearly loosing their balance. Then there was a small hum.
“Mikey what did you do?!” Ralph yelled.
”I didn’t do anything! I just touched it!” Mikey defended himself quickly.
“Ralph, I’m sure Mikey didn’t mean it.” April tried to reason with him
The building shook violently again. Making all of them alert.
“Doesn’t matter we have to get out now!” Leo yelled.
Then suddenly it stoped. Everything stoped but the humming got louder as the symbol on the wall began to light up slightly.
“Oh this looks bad..” Casey muttered nervously.
They began to back away and tried to get away but then suddenly a bright orange portal began to open, sucking them in. Each of them grabbed onto whatever they could tightly to prevent getting sucked in. Mikey started to loosen his grip and got sucked in first, then they all went after each other, Casey, Donnie, April, Ralph and then lastly Leo. Then everything went black.

As soon as everyone got sucked in the portal glitched then closed immediately. The place now empty where there were the turtles and two humans before.

Darkness. Complete utterly darkness. Then they slowly blinked awake one by one. Rubbing their heads and groaning. They seemed to have to hit their floor hard. Looking around everything seemed the same. Though it was more brighter?
They glanced at each other. “Everyone ok?” Leo asked standing up.
All of them gave different responses at the same time. “Never better” “could have been worse” “No”.
They decided to take a peak outside. As soon as they did, Nothing, Absolutely nothing was familiar. Sure it was still New York. But it wasn’t their New York. This one was different. More brighter, colorful and a lot more people being outside at night.
They quickly retreated to a nearby rooftop to hide in the shadows since here seemed to be a lot more humans out at night.
“Donnie, any clues on where we are?” Leo asked glancing at him as he crossed his arms
“I’m checking.” Donnie said as he checked, while Casey looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing.
“We’ll check faster genius. Ugh this is all your fault Mikey!” Ralph groaned in frustration.
“I didn’t mean to! It’s not like I knew something like that could happen!” Mikey tried defending himself.
“Ralph, Mikey clearly did not know that would happen. None of us did. Let’s just stay calm and figure things out.” April tried to calm everyone down.
“April’s right. It’s best we stay calm and focus.” Leo agreed.
“Oh boy-..”
“What? Donnie what happened?” April asked, feeling slightly uneasy.
“Where not in our New York.. it seems like we somehow ended up.. in another dimension.”
“No. No! Ugh again with these dimensions?! Damnit.” Ralph yelled in frustration.
“Well it doesn’t look like the one with these other us we meet not long ago. This one’s different.” Donnie explained.
Leo sighed. “Ok. Ok. Good.”
“Yeah the other guys were weird.” Mikey added.
“So, we should probably find the other versions of us. It might be our only option.” Leo proposed. Surprisingly everyone agreed it was the best idea. Since they don’t know how to get back anyway.
“Alright, let’s check out the sewers dudes!” Mikey exclaimed excitedly. Clearly curious on how their other selves even look like.
They all found a manhole and quickly climbed down to the sewers. The sewers clearly looked a lot different from theirs. They started to move, Leo leading the way. They turned a corner when suddenly something was thrown and then gas appeared. Before they could realize what was even happening, the gas knocked them out making everything go dark.

As they woke up groggily, all of them noticed that they were tied up and in a dark room. They heard some faint voices outside the door. All of them stayed silent, in case of any danger or potential treat. They tried to eavesdrop on the voices trying to figure out what was being discussed on the other side of the door.
“Yeah but what are we suppose to do with.. this whole situation?? I told you we shouldn’t have brought them here.” One voice basically growled obviously annoyed.
“Scoff! And I’m telling you to trust me. Those guys are harmless. Besides I’ve tied them up to ease your worries didn’t I?” Another voice spoke but sounded more sarcastic, and did they also say ‘scoff’?? Who says that?
“Does it matter? Let’s just check if they’re awake already.” Another much younger voice spoke next. The next second the door swung open as three Turtles walked in.
There was the large muscular one, probably an alligator snapping turtle or something.. with had a spiky shell and is probably 6ft tall, Wearing a Red mask, and a eyepatch over his right eye.
The one next to him on his right is another Turtle with some kind of tech device on his shell, wearing a purple mask with had drawn eyebrows on it and had patterns on his shoulders and hips. He was looking at his phone rather than at the “kidnapped victims”. He also had some goggles on his head with one lens was red and the other was blue.
The shorter one on the left side of the red one, is wearing an orange mask, has a more rounded shape and has also weird patterns on his shoulders and hips. The others could only guess that they were the other versions of Ralph, Donnie and Mikey.
“Alright. Let’s keep it simple. We wanna know how you got here and why did ya wander in the direction of our home?” The younger one, with probably was the other versions of Mikey spoke, although he smiled sweetly his tone seemed to be more threatening.
“We got here by accident. We didn’t-..” Leo started but the other Donnie interrupted him.
“Ap ap ap ap ap ap! Let me. Dear brothers, these are our alternative selves from another dimension, as I said before.”
“Don, no offense but you tend to go. How do I say this? A bit overboard crazy with theories.” The other versions of Ralph spoke. Almost in an accusatory tone.
“Scoff. I do not! But I’m telling the truth on this!”
“Uhm, if I may? He is correct. We ended up here by accident and got stuck.” Donnie interrupted nervously.
“Yeah dudes! We don’t wanna fight.” Mikey added.
There was a moment of silence. For a good few seconds nobody moved nor spoke. Then suddenly other Donnie pointed at the other Ralph yelling. “HAH!” The other Ralph just rolled his eyes.
“Great, now that we established that, could you untie us now already?” Ralph asked frustrated.
Other Donnie then pressed something on his gauntlet. Then suddenly their restrains came off. The four Turtles and their two humans stood up.
“How did you get here exactly. I need details stat.” Other Donnie stated with stars in his eyes, both excited and fascinated that his theory was correct.
“We were checking out this weird abandoned laboratory when-..” April started but then Ralph cut her off. “Mikey messed something up like always and got us into this mess.”
“I said I didn’t knew it would happen!” Mikey argued back.
“Ok ok. calm down. Tell me. How did you get here?” Other Ralph pinched the bridge of his snout as he sighed.
“Well there was a weird symbol on a wall and then we got sucked through a weird orange portal that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.” Donnie started.
There was a long pause. Then slowly other Ralph and other Donnie glanced at other Mikey with what looked like a stern glare.
“Mikey.” Other Ralph hissed. “You said you wouldn’t do anything! You promised not to use your mystics anymore!” Other Donnie practically yelled at the other Mikey waving his hands around frantically.
“Ok Fine. But it’s not like it harms me as much as before. I’m improving! Draxum even says so! Besides I’d rather keep trying than give up..” other Mikey said the last part quietly hugging himself slightly looking away.
The tension in the room could’ve been cut with a knife. Other Ralph’s and other Donnie’s expression softened, but didn’t say anything. After a couple moments of silence, other Donnie spoke up, deciding to change the subject.
“Sigh.. I suppose, we should compromise on our name situation, to not have any miscommunication happening.” Though he looked over at other Mikey with a look that said ‘we’ll talk later about this.’ Other Mikey just looked away not saying anything.
“Yeah that’s a good idea.” Other Ralph nodded glad that the topic seemed to change.
After they’ve done a very long discussion about their names they agreed on using. Ralph, Leo, Mikey and Donnie for the 2012 boys and Rapha, Angelo and Don for the Rise boys.
Rapha and Angelo retreated to prepare a room for their new guest as Don showed them around the lair. They decided to let them crash there for a while till they find a way to get them back home.
“Woah Dude your lair’s huge!” Mikey gasped looking around.
“Yeah, how did you guys manage to get a whole ass skating room?! And an arcade?!” Casey added amazed.
Certainly everyone was amazed by the whole layout of the lair. It seemed a lot bigger and different from theirs. It was weird but it is a different dimension after all. Though they couldn’t believe how much they managed to fit in their lair.
“Hey what’s in there?” Donnie asked curiously pointing to a room.
Don paused for a moment. Just staring at the door of the room, silent as if deep in thoughts his expression unreadable. Then he snapped out of his thoughts and answered.
“That’s Leons room.”
The others glanced at each other slightly confused on Don’s reaction but decided not to press any further. They didn’t knew why but it seemed to be a sensitive topic. They wondered if they had an argument or something.
Later on they arrived at the kitchen where Rapha and Angelo were already there. With a whole lot of pizza boxes.
“Don! Dinners here. Hueso came by and dropped off the usuals.” Angelo exclaimed with a small smile.
A moment later all of them sat at the table eating pizza. Then suddenly April spoke up.
“Hey, where’s other Leo? Shouldn’t we like tell him pizza’s here?” She asked curiously.
“Oh yeah weird I didn’t saw him here either.” Donnie muttered.
Meanwhile Rapha, Angelo and Don froze. They tensed up glancing at each other. “Did I say something wrong?” April asked. The others just glanced at each other wondering what happened. Oh sh!t did they really had an argument?
“He’s not here.” Rapha simply stated. Clearly not wanting to talk about this. But Don had other plans.
“He sacrificed himself, is possibly dead, we don’t know.” Don stated in a matter of fact tone, though he didn’t look at anyone as he was looking at his phone.
Everyone went quiet. Oh.. the others glanced at each other and then back at the Rise brothers sympathetically. They expected an argument or something.. not.. this. They didn’t knew what to say. It must be hard to lose a family member… They know, they’ve lost Splinter and it was hard for them.
“Donnie!” Rapha shouted.
“What?! Just stating facts we can’t just keep ignoring this!” Don shot back clearly frustrated.
Then before they could continue to argue Angelo slammed his hands on the table. “Enough! First of all. Yes, Leon’s missing.” He glanced at their visitors. Sympathizing on the ‘missing’ part. He didn’t quite yet believe his brother was dead. He couldn’t… Then he glanced back to his brothers. “He’s not dead because I just know it. He wouldn’t give up on us, and I’m not giving up on him.”
The room went completely silent. The others glanced between the three brothers awkwardly and a little stunned that Angelo snapped. Well this is going to be a very interesting stay to say the least…
