It was a normal Tuesday afternoon; Annabeth was walking home from school.
‘It’s oddly peaceful today…’ She thinks. Just as she was about to cross the roads, her phone rang. ‘Figured.’ Annabeth reaches into her pocket to grab her phone and accepts the call.
“Annabeth! Nico and Will are missing!!” An anxious voice flows out of Annabeth’s phone. The owner of said voice is no other than Perseus Jackson, Annabeth’s lover.
“Woah, what did you say? Who’s missing? Nico and Will??” Hearing this, Annabeth fastens up her walking pace and sprints home.
“Yes! They’re gone and didn’t tell Chiron nor Mr. D.”
“Shit, I’m going back to camp. Wait for me.” (A/N: WAITTT FOR MEEE IM COMINGGG-) Before Percy can reply, Annabeth hangs up the phone on him. She swings the door open and sprints into her room.
“Welcome home, Annabeth. What’s the rush?” Annabeth’s father asked, confused by her action.
“Hi, dad. Something happened; I need to get back to camp as fast as possible.”
“Can you drive me to camp?” She stuffs some important items into her backpack as her father stands outside her room.
“I see.” As Annabeth finishes stuffing items into her backpack, her father has already started the car.
“Hop on in, Annabeth.”
“Thanks, dad.”
After a while, Annabeth finally got to the hill of Camp Half-Blood. Just as she got out of the car, she was immediately approached by Grover, her satyr friend.
“Annabeth, you’re finally here!” Annabeth waves goodbye to her father before rushing to the camp with Grover.
As soon as they got back, Annabeth noticed a few of her friends already waiting for them.
“Annabeth, over here!” Percy calls out to her.
“What exactly happened?” Annabeth asks.
“Long story short, this morning a Hypnos camper accidentally broke his ankle so me and Grover helped him to the infirmary to find Will but he wasn’t there.” Percy started explaining.
“As an Apollo kid was healing his wound, we went and asked the other Apollo kids who stayed back, turns out they didn’t know where Will went.” Annabeth nods slightly.
“Then we went to Cabin 13, ‘cause you know how close Nico and Will usually are. We tried knocking on his cabin door but he wouldn’t answer.” Grover continues to finish up Percy’s sentence.
“So, we opened the door, and that’s how we discovered Nico is also gone. We then told Chiron and Mr. D about this, hence why you’re called back.” Percy explains to Annabeth as they walk towards the big house, where you can see Chiron and Dionysus already waiting there.
“I assume you already heard what happened from Percy and Grover.” Chiron spoke up as soon as the group arrived, to which Annabeth nodded.
After some small discussions, Dionysus decided to send out two groups of campers to find the missing duo.
“Peter and Annabelle, you two go find Nico.”
“Percy and Annabeth, sir.” Percy corrects Dionysus’ sentence.
“Peter, Percy, all the same.”
“Clara and Grocery, you two find Wallace. Any objections?”
“Clarisse, Grover and Will, sir.” Percy corrects Dionysus again, but the latter just straight up ignores him as the other mentioned campers shake their heads slightly, implying that they had no problem with the grouping.
“Alright then. You few can start finding Nico and Will.” Chiron speaks up.
“Me and Mr. D will inform the rest of the campers to keep out for any traces of the two.” He then starts to walk towards the arena, where some Ares campers can be seen training with some Athena campers and Aphrodite campers.
“You brats better not get in any trouble.” Dionysus glares at Percy for a split second before joining Chiron.
With the two responsible adults gone, the four campers decide to start investigating where the missing duo could’ve possibly gone.
“So, where do we go first?” Percy asks.
“I think we should ask the rest of the campers for any information first.” Annabeth suggests.
“I agree.” Clarisse and Grover both nod to Annabeth’s suggestion.
MEANWHILE IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE (/silly)
“Hey Nico and Will. Uhm, I think the camp is looking for you two…” A tree nymph walks up towards the two loverboys that are currently sitting on top of a large tree branch in the North Woods.
“Hey, Juniper.” Will waves at the tree nymph, Juniper, before quickly realizing something.
“What do you mean they’re looking for us? Did something happen?” Nico asks as he jumps down from the tree branch.
“Percy and Grover couldn’t find the two of you, so they assumed you went missing.” Juniper points towards the Mess Hall, where Clarisse and Grover are seen interrogating some campers.
“Did they tell Chiron or Mr. D about our, uh, ‘disappearance’?” Will asks as he jumps down from the tree branch with Nico.
“Yeah, that’s why they’re in groups trying to find you two.”
“No, we haven’t seen the two of them since this morning.” The injured Hypnos camper and a Hermes camper respond to Clarisse and Grover’s question on the missing Nico and Will.
The two searchers were about to ask another group of campers outside of the Mess Hall when they heard a voice call out to them
“Uhm, I heard you guys were looking for us?” Grover and Clarisse turn around and see Nico and Will standing beside each other, walking towards them.
“I- Nico? Will? Where did you two go? Me and Percy couldn’t find you guys” Grover asks anxiously.
“We were resting on top of a tree branch when Juniper told us you were searching for us.” Will explains.
“So that’s where you two went, no wonder they couldn’t find the two of you.” Chiron walks towards the six campers slowly with Dionysus behind him.
“Chiron, Mr. D.” Will and Nico greet the two immediately.
“You little troublemakers, always going somewhere hidden.” Dionysus sighs as Percy and Annabeth walk towards their direction.
“Will! Nico! Are you two alright?” Annabeth asks upon her arrival. To which, the mentioned duo nodded slightly, signalling that they’re alright.
“Where did the two of you go? We couldn’t find you at all.” Percy asks as Nico explains again.
“Peter Johnson and Grocery, you two are punished to clean the bathroom without using your powers. Looking at you, Peter Parker.” Dionysus points at Percy.
“But we didn’t do anything wrong?-” Percy tried to reason with Dionysus, but Grover stopped him. “We were the ones who reported them missing… Did you forget?”
“Sorry for the trouble. We didn’t expect this to happen.” Will pats the two at their back.
“Wallace, you’re joining them too.” Dionysus announces lastly before walking back to the Big House.
This time, it’s Percy and Grover’s turn to pat Will on his back. “You’re suffering with us, man.” Nico lets out a laugh before ruffling Will’s hair.
“I’ll get you three some McDonalds after this”
“Cough.” Clarisse nudges Annabeth, urging her to say something.
“Oh, and you two too.” To which Annabeth and Clarisse both nodded.
