Chapter Text
Wynnie threw her head back for a moment, before shoving it into her cupped hands. She hadn’t much patience today, frankly. Her battery had been sucked dry by a hundred little monotonous tasks. Arbitrary, really.
She raised her head back up, allowing her eyes to gaze upon the screen in front of her. She took a moment to think about what she was doing. Right… The List. She opened up a small text file, with a list of names and links pasted into it. From the top to the bottom, it all seemed to be mods, for the most part, with notes placed below each. She scrolled for a moment, before laying her eyes upon her next piece of content to digest.
Carder’s Mod. Bizarre name, the listing for it made it seem as if it was mostly a mod of balance, rather than one of plot relevance. A part of Wynnie wondered why she was even playing this. She was scouring every last piece of media regarding Inscryption for the plot, for the THEMES, not the card game! What she had planned had nothing to do with the card game itself! It was just another balance mod, another mod that probably adds a bunch of cards called “The Gnarple Graggle” and its based off some alien from Latvian folk lore. It was made for THAT guy.
You know the type. The card collector. The person obsessed with balance and rules and packs. Did… did that type of person even exist? Sounded kind of like a stereotype. I mean, if these were the mods getting made, they had to exist, right?. With a small sigh, she copied the link and pasted it into her Browser, staring at the listing again for a moment before hitting the download button.
As she waited for it to download, she picked up a small keychain of a blue computer character. Thinking. Wondering. What if she ever got burnt out? What if she ever decided that she didn’t want to rank all these mods anymore? What if she never got to make that “Magnum Opus” of hers? What if, what if… She placed the keychain down, returning to reality once more.
Right. Carders mod. She gazed back onto the screen, placing her hands back onto the keyboard and mouse as she began to explore the Mod. Carders Mod.
She took a moment to drag and drop files from the mod into the game files proper. It was annoying, tedious to do for every single one, but she refused to use a mod manager out of principle. It was a really bizarre idiosyncrasy of hers, frankly. As she got it all cleaned up, she double-clicked on Inscryptions EXE file.
And then, her head collided with her keyboard. Hard. She didn’t even have control of it, nor did she hardly feel it when it happened. Thunk. Out cold…
