Chapter Text
The lights in Central City were aglow as several Mobians came to explore the area and experience the pleasant spring evening. Central City was a landmark for good food, casinos, and live entertainment. And in the heart of this vibrant city, was the infamous Sweet Passion.
Sweet Passion was a burlesque nightclub ran by Rouge the Bat. It was a place where the pleasures of men were met with the young and beautiful women of the night. But among the women, one stood out. Amy Rose. They called her Little Rose, and she was the star of Sweet Passion.
Tonight was to be different from the other nights at Sweet Passion. Rouge was looking to bring in more investors. One of those possible investors she had her eye on was Mephiles the Dark. A duke with connections to some of the top entrepreneurs and a checkbook big enough to buy half of the city. He was to be Rouge’s special guest for the evening.
Mephiles, sat at a table shrouded in shadow, his presence chilling despite the warmth of the room. His dark form seemed to absorb the light, his green eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity. He was a creature of calculated cruelty and boundless ambition. Beside him, slumped in a plush, velvet chair, was his younger brother, Shadow.
Shadow was a paradox. Part of Mephiles' formidable family, he moved with the lethal grace of a predator, yet carried an air of perpetual detachment. He’d accompanied Mephiles tonight out of obligation, not interest. The glitz and manufactured intimacy of burlesque clubs had never appealed to him. The women who danced here, no matter how beautiful, were just commodities, their smiles practiced, their allure a performance.
The house lights dimmed further, plunging the room into near darkness save for the spotlights that now bathed the stage in a soft, rose-gold glow. A hush fell over the patrons, their murmurs dying down to expectant whispers. A lone saxophone began to play.
Then, she appeared.
Amy Rose, a vision in shimmering rose-gold sequins that caught the light like scattered starlight. Her dress, if it could even be called that, was a masterpiece of illusion, revealing just enough, concealing just enough, to drive the imagination wild. Her quills were styled into soft, elegant waves that framed her face, highlighting her luminous emerald eyes. As the music swelled, a sultry, slow jazz, she began to move.
Shadow, who had been idly swirling the amber liquid in his glass, felt his gaze snap to the stage. He had expected the usual gyrations, the practiced sensuality. What he witnessed was something else entirely. Amy didn't just dance; she embodied the music. Every sway of her hips, every arch of her back, every flutter of her sequined fan was a story. Her movements were fluid, powerful, yet achingly vulnerable. There was a raw, untamed passion in her performance that transcended the artificiality of the club. Her eyes, even from a distance, seemed to hold a depth, a fierce intelligence that belied the delicate façade.
She moved like a dream, her body a symphony of curves and lines, teasing, inviting, yet always just out of reach. When she finally cast her gaze towards their table, a slow, knowing smile gracing her lips, Shadow felt a jolt. It wasn't the practiced, generic smile of a performer; it was direct, personal, and searing. He found himself unable to look away, a strange, unfamiliar heat blooming in his chest. This wasn't just a commodity. This was a force.
Mephiles, beside him, was utterly captivated. His gaze was fixed on Amy, his features unreadable, but Shadow could sense the intense focus, the predatory glint in his brother’s eyes.
This was exactly what Rouge had hoped for.
The performance ended with a dramatic flourish, Amy striking a pose that was both defiant and utterly alluring. The club erupted in applause, a cacophony of whistles and cheers. Amy bowed gracefully, her smile radiant, and then, with a final, lingering glance in their direction, she disappeared behind the stage curtains.
Rouge, seeing Mephiles’ mesmerized state, approached their table with a triumphant smirk. “Enjoyed the show, gentlemen?” she purred, her voice a low thrum.
Mephiles merely nodded, his eyes still fixed on the curtain where Amy had vanished. “She is… exceptional.”
“The best,” Rouge agreed, her tail swishing. “And she’s quite eager to meet you, Mephiles. I’ve arranged for her to join you in the private suite upstairs. Just the two of you.” She winked, a gesture that conveyed a multitude of illicit promises.
Mephiles stood, a dark shadow unfurling. “Excellent.” He turned to Shadow. “You may wait here, brother. Or explore the club if you wish.” His tone was dismissive, an unspoken command that Shadow was not needed for this particular transaction.
Shadow merely grunted, watching Mephiles follow Rouge towards a discreet, gilded door at the back of the club. His gaze, however, drifted back to the stage, a lingering image of Amy's captivating dance seared into his mind.

Earlier backstage…
Amy and the other dancers were getting their makeup done when they heard a voice smooth as silk behind them. “Amy. Darling.”
She turned to see Rouge. Rouge had a smile that spelled mischief. “We have a special guest tonight.”
“Who?”
Rouge’s smile widened. “Mephiles the Dark.”
Amy’s eyes widened. Several rich, powerful, and famous men have come through the doors of Sweet Passion before. But nobody as renowned as Mephiles. “How do you know he’s attending tonight? Why is he attending?”
“Turns out, the duke has heard much about you. He seems quite interested in meeting you.”
Amy was confused. “Why would he want to meet me?”
Rouge leaned closer to Amy. “Apparently, you’ve made a name for yourself outside of Sweet Passion. Some have started to call you the most beautiful Mobian in Central City.”
Blaze, who had been listening while adjusting her gloves, smirked to herself and made a mental note to get more details from Amy after tonight. It wasn’t a surprise to her that Amy was able to win the hearts of so many. She had somehow managed to become friends with their hard headed bouncer, Knuckles, and the shy, intellectual stagehand, Tails.
Amy could feel the blush rising high to her cheeks. She was undeniably flattered, but also a bit embarrassed by the title. “I’d be delighted to meet him,” Amy responded sweetly.
“Now, Amy,” Rouge began. “As you know, I’ve been looking to secure some investors and there’s no better investor than the duke. So I’ll need you to do a bit more this time around as a favor.”
All the flattery Amy was feeling began to deflate. She’d always done whatever it took to help Rouge out. Gentle touches. A few flirty comments. But something felt different about this “favor” Rouge was about to ask of her.
She laid a well manicured hand on Amy’s shoulder. “Mephiles is a man who isn’t easy to charm or can be seduced like the others. I normally wouldn’t ask this of you if I didn’t think you could do it, but you will need to really sell him on this business venture. Make him believe that you’re in love with him.”
Amy didn’t need to hear more to understand where Rouge was going with this. “Rouge… I can’t. I’m not going to sleep with someone for money.”
Rouge let out an exasperated sigh. “Darling, Sweet Passion isn’t like other nightclubs. We provide housing for our employees. We’re in no means struggling, but the bills are higher when we have people living here. It’s a huge benefit for us to have a shark in our tank. Everyone will be able to receive higher pay and we will be able to afford more.”
It was hard for Amy to deny Rouge this request. If it wasn’t for Sweet Passion, she wouldn’t have a home in the first place.
With her head bowed, Amy agreed. After her performance, she was to meet Mephiles in one of the private rooms and secure Sweet Passion’s future.

Present time…
Backstage, Amy was being rushed out of her costume and into a black bustier with a matching lace garter belt and thigh highs by an assistant. “Miss Rose, you need to hurry! The duke is waiting for you in room three. He just went up with Rouge.”
Amy wrapped herself in a silk robe and took a deep breath. "Wish me luck."
She walked down the dimly lit corridor, her heels clicking softly on the plush carpet.
Room three. She pushed open the door, her heart pounding a frantic rhythm against her ribs. The room was opulent, with velvet drapes, a crystal decanter of amber liquid, and a large, comfortable sofa. And there he was, standing by the window, his back to her, looking out at the city lights.
"Mephiles," Amy purred, her voice a low, throaty whisper, laced with the practiced adoration she reserved for her most important clients. She closed the door softly behind her.
He turned, and Amy’s breath hitched. Up close, he was even more striking. The same dark fur, the same piercing eyes, but a subtle difference in his posture, a less world-weary air. He looked… younger, less hardened than the Mobian she had seen in her mind's eye. But the intensity was still there, perhaps even more potent in this intimate setting.
"You were magnificent," he said, his voice a smooth baritone that resonated deep within her.
Amy moved towards him, her hips swaying with a deliberate sensuality. "Only for you." She reached out, her fingers tracing the sharp line of his jaw. Her touch was feather-light, yet it held the weight of a thousand unspoken desires. She gazed up at him, her emerald eyes wide and seemingly filled with awe. "I felt your eyes on me the whole time. It was like… no one else existed. Only you."
She leaned into him, letting her body press against his, feeling the solid warmth of his form. Her hand slid up his chest, her fingers brushing against the soft fur. "I've heard so much about you. They say you’re… formidable. But they don't say how utterly captivating you are." She lifted her head, her lips parting slightly, inviting. "I think… I think I'm a little bit in love with you."
His expression remained unreadable, but a faint flush rose on his dark cheeks. "Is that so, Little Rose?"
"Oh, yes," she breathed, her voice thick with emotion she didn’t truly feel, yet her body was reacting to the proximity, the dangerous allure of him. She rose on her tiptoes, her lips brushing against his. "I want you. More than I've wanted anyone."
He finally leaned down, capturing her lips in a slow, exploratory kiss. It was hesitant at first, then deepened, becoming more possessive, more consuming. Amy responded with practiced eagerness, letting her body melt against his, her hands winding around his neck, pulling him closer. This was it. This was the moment. She had to make him believe it, truly believe it, that she was utterly lost in him.
He lifted her effortlessly into his arms, carrying her to the plush sofa. The world spun for a moment, then settled as she was gently laid down. He followed, his body covering hers, his weight a delicious pressure. His lips trailed down her neck, leaving a fiery path. Amy arched into his touch, her fingers digging lightly into his shoulders.
He shed his jacket, then his shirt, revealing the hard, muscled expanse of his chest. Her eyes widen slightly, a flicker of genuine appreciation in their depths.
Amy, with a confident, seductive grace, began to shed her own attire. The dark hedgehog watched as she slowly, deliberately unfastened the front of her corset allowing it to slide off her chest. The lace fell away, revealing the full, ripe globes of her breasts, her nipples tight and erect.
He lowered his head, gently suckling one, then the other, eliciting a soft moan from her. Her hands tangled in his quills, urging him closer, pressing his face against her. He tasted her, felt the softness of her skin, the rising heat of her body.
His lips trailed down her stomach, across her navel, until he reached the delicate lace of her panties. He unfastened the garter belt then peeled the panties away, slowly, savoring the anticipation, revealing the soft, pink lips of her womanhood, already glistening with desire.
He looked up, his gaze meeting hers. Her eyes were glazed, her lips swollen from their kisses, her body trembling slightly. “You’re so beautiful, Amy,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
She arched her back, her hips rising slightly, an unspoken invitation. “And you,” she breathed, her voice a desperate plea. “You’re everything I’ve ever wanted.”
He moved between her legs, the hard press of his erection against her soft heat. He entered her slowly, deliberately, feeling her muscles clench around him. She was tight, wet, and incredibly hot. Amy felt her eyes roll back, a soft cry escaping her lips as he filled her.
He began to move, a slow, rhythmic thrust that quickly gained momentum. She met him thrust for thrust, her hips rising to meet his, her legs wrapping around his waist, pulling him deeper. The couch creaked with their movements, the air filled with their gasps and moans.
Amy had never experienced such raw, uninhibited pleasure. Every nerve ending in her body was alive, focused solely on the exquisite sensation of the man being inside her, of feeling her body responding to his. There was an intense, primal connection, a bond forged in the heat of their passion. Her feigned pleasure quickly turning into genuine moans.
Her nails dug into his back, leaving faint, crescent-shaped marks. Her head tossed from side to side, her quills a wild halo around her face.
He began plunging into her with renewed vigor, pushing them both closer to the precipice. The world outside the room faded away, replaced by the rhythm of their bodies, the symphony of their pleasure.
With a final, desperate cry, she convulsed around him, her body shuddering with release. He thrusted deep one last time, emptying himself into her with a guttural roar.
They both collapsed, spent and sated, into the soft cushions of the sofa.
He lay beside her, breathing heavily, his arm wrapped around her waist. Amy, still reeling from the unexpected intensity of their encounter, nestled into his side, her head resting on his shoulder. Her fingers idly traced the smooth, dark fur of his chest.
"I… I didn't think it would be like that," she confessed, her voice barely a whisper. The words were more honest than she intended.
He chuckled softly. "Neither did I, Little Rose." He kissed the top of her head. "You're truly something else."
Amy smiled, a genuine, soft smile that reached her eyes. She felt a warmth spreading through her, a contentment she hadn't expected. This Mobian, Mephiles, was not the monster she’d imagined. He was passionate, attentive, and surprisingly tender. Perhaps this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Then, he spoke again, his voice gentle. "Though, I must confess, it's a surprise. I never thought I'd find myself in a burlesque club, let alone a private room with its star performer. Mephiles usually handles these things."
Amy froze. The warmth drained from her body, replaced by a cold dread. Her eyes snapped open, and she pulled back slightly, looking up at him. "What did you say?"
He looked at her, a hint of confusion in his ruby eyes. "Mephiles. My brother. He's the one who usually deals with Rouge. I'm Shadow."
The world tilted. The air left her lungs in a painful gasp. Shadow. His brother. Not Mephiles. She had mistaken him for his brother. The Mobian she had just made love to, poured her heart and soul into seducing, was not the duke, but his younger sibling.
Her mind raced, a frantic scramble of disbelief and horror. The investment. Rouge. Everything. It was all a colossal, unforgivable mistake.
Shadow, seeing the sudden terror in her eyes, sat up, pulling her with him. "Amy? What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Shadow?" she whispered, her voice trembling. "You're… Shadow? Mephiles' brother?"
He nodded, a slight frown creasing his brow. "Yes. Is something wrong?"
Amy scrambled off the sofa, frantically dressing. "Oh, Chaos! This is… this is a disaster!"
Shadow watched her, his confusion deepening. "A disaster? What are you talking about?"
"I… I thought you were Mephiles!" she blurted out, her face flushing crimson. "Rouge… Rouge told me to seduce Mephiles, to secure an investment. I thought you were him!"
Shadow’s eyes widened, a slow realization dawning on his face. He stood up, his posture stiffening. "You thought I was Mephiles? And you… you did all this… because you thought I was him?" His voice was laced with a mixture of shock and hurt. The tenderness that had been there moments before vanished, replaced by a cold, distant anger.
Amy felt a fresh wave of despair wash over her. The genuine connection, the unexpected pleasure, it was all tainted now, a lie born of a terrible misunderstanding. "I… I didn't mean to, Shadow. You look so much like him. The dark fur, the eyes… I just assumed. I was told Mephiles would be in room three."
"So, you just sleep with whoever Rouge tells you to?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.
"No!" Amy cried, tears stinging her eyes. "It's not like that. This was… for the club. For Rouge. She needed the investment. I thought I was doing my job." She looked at him, her heart aching. "But… but it wasn't just a job, Shadow. Not with you. I… I felt something."
He scoffed, turning away from her. "You felt something? Or you're just a very good actress?"
"Please, Shadow," she pleaded, reaching out to touch his arm, but he flinched away. "I swear. I know it started as a mistake, but… what happened between us… it was real. For me, it was real."
He didn't respond, his back still to her, his shoulders rigid. The silence in the room was deafening, heavy with unspoken accusations and shattered intimacy. Amy knew she had to fix this, not just for Rouge, but for herself. She had to find Mephiles. And she had to salvage her own dignity.
"I have to go," she whispered, grabbing the rest of her costume. "I'm so sorry, Shadow. Truly."
She fled the room, leaving Shadow alone, grappling with the bewildering aftermath of their encounter. His mind replayed her words, her desperate pleas, the way her body had felt against his. He had been so sure that what they shared was genuine, a rare spark in his otherwise solitary life. Now, it was just another transaction, a role she played for the highest bidder. Yet, a part of him, a stubborn, hopeful part, clung to the raw emotion in her eyes, the genuine tremor in her voice.
—————————
Amy, heart pounding, found Rouge already pacing in her office, a furious storm brewing in her eyes. "Where have you been, Amy? Mephiles is asking for you. He's been waiting in room one!"
Amy's stomach dropped. Room one. Not room three. Oh, Chaos. "Rouge, there's been a terrible mistake. I… I thought Mephiles was in room three. I was with… with Shadow."
Rouge's jaw dropped. "Shadow? Mephiles' brother? You slept with Shadow?!" Her voice rose to a shrill shriek. "Are you insane?!"
"I know," Amy whispered, tears finally spilling down her cheeks. "But I have to go to him now. I have to fix this."
Rouge stared at her, then a slow, predatory smile spread across her lips. "Alright. This is it. The performance of your life. Go to him. Make him forget everything. Make him want you so bad he can't breathe. Make him sign that investment, and forget he ever had a brother."
Amy nodded, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. She had to be stronger now.
She walked to room one, her legs feeling like lead. Mephiles. The real Mephiles. He was waiting. She pushed open the door, her heart hammering against her ribs.
Mephiles was there, seated on a velvet sofa, a glass of dark liquor in his hand, his reptilian eyes fixed on her as she entered. He looked exactly as she had imagined him: cold, calculating, powerful. The slight smirk on his lips was unsettling.
"So, the Little Rose finally graces me with her presence," he said, his voice smooth as silk, yet with an edge of steel. "I was beginning to think you were playing hard to get."
Amy walked towards him, her movements slow and deliberate, every ounce of her practiced allure on display. She had to sell this. She had to make him believe she had eyes only for him.
"My apologies, Mephiles," she purred, her voice a low, seductive whisper. "I was… preparing myself. For you. I wanted to be perfect." She walked towards him, her movements deliberately slow, confident. She sat on the sofa opposite him, crossing her legs, allowing the silk robe to fall open just enough to reveal a sliver of her thigh.
"Your performance tonight was… exceptional," he said, his gaze never leaving her.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," she offered a small, demure smile. She had to play the part of the demure, slightly overwhelmed ingenue first, before she could transition to the passionate lover. "It means a great deal to me, knowing you were watching."
He raised an eyebrow, a subtle, almost imperceptible gesture. "Does it?"
"Yes," she met his gaze, pouring every ounce of her acting prowess into her eyes, making them shine with a manufactured sincerity. "Your presence… it commands attention. It’s impossible not to feel it." She let her gaze drop to his hand, then back up to his face, a hint of shyness in her demeanor. "I felt… inspired."
A faint, almost imperceptible smirk touched his lips. "Inspired to do what, exactly?"
"To give a performance worthy of your discerning eye," she said, leaning forward slightly, her voice dropping to a seductive murmur. "To capture a moment, just for you."
He set his glass down on the small table between them. "Come here, Amy." It wasn't a request. It was a command, delivered with a quiet authority that brooked no argument.
Amy rose, her heart thrumming a frantic beat against her ribs. She walked around the table and sat beside him, leaving a small, deliberate space between them. He turned to face her, his arm resting on the back of the sofa, his fingers brushing against her quills. The touch was like ice and fire simultaneously, sending a jolt through her.
"Rouge tells me you’re… particular about your company," she ventured, testing the waters.
"I am particular about everything," Mephiles corrected, his voice devoid of humor. "Especially when it comes to the finer things in life. And you, Amy, are undeniably fine." His gaze swept over her, a possessive inventory.
She managed a breathy laugh, her hand instinctively going to her chest. "That's… quite a compliment."
"It is merely an observation," he said, and then, without warning, his hand moved from her quills to her cheek, his fingers cool against her skin. He tilted her face towards him, his eyes boring into hers. "But perhaps… it is more than that. Perhaps it is a promise."
Amy’s breath hitched. She had to sell this. She had to make him believe. She leaned into his touch, letting her eyes flutter shut for a moment, as if overcome. When she opened them again, they were swimming with what she hoped looked like adoration. "A promise of what, Mephiles?"
"Of pleasure. Of possession. Of something… exclusive," he murmured, his thumb stroking her jawline. "I have known many women, Amy. They offer their bodies, their fleeting affections. But you… you offer something more. An illusion, perhaps, but one I find myself intrigued by."
He was perceptive. Too perceptive. She had to be careful. "Perhaps it's not an illusion," she whispered, her voice husky. She reached out, her hand trembling slightly as she placed it on his chest, feeling the hard surface beneath her fingertips. "Perhaps it's… a connection."
His eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of something unreadable in their depths. "A connection? With me?" He chuckled, a low, humorless sound. "Most women find me… intimidating."
"I find you… fascinating," she countered, her gaze unwavering. "Powerful. Unapologetic. There's a darkness in you that… draws me in." She was gambling, playing on his ego, on his villainous nature. She hoped it was the right move.
It was. A flicker of something akin to satisfaction crossed his face. He leaned closer, his scent—something sharp, metallic, and utterly unique—filling her senses. "And what does this darkness make you feel, Little Rose?"
"It makes me feel… seen," she confessed, letting a vulnerability she truly felt, buried deep beneath her performance, surface. "Understood. Like perhaps, you see past the performer, past the pretty face, to something deeper." She was laying it on thick, but she had to. "Like you see me."
His gaze softened imperceptibly, a subtle shift in the intensity. This was it. This was the moment. He was starting to believe her.
He leaned in further, his lips brushing against hers, a whisper-light touch that sent goosebumps across her skin. "I see you, Amy Rose. And what I see… I want."
His kiss was not tender. It was possessive and demanding. His lips were cool, firm, tasting faintly of the whiskey he had been drinking. She responded, arching into him, letting her own lips part, inviting him deeper. She let her hands slide up his chest, around his neck, pulling him closer, as if she couldn't get enough. She moaned softly into the kiss, a sound she hoped conveyed desperate longing.
He responded instantly, his arm wrapping around her waist, pulling her onto his lap. He broke the kiss, his eyes burning into hers. "You want this, Amy?"
"More than anything," she breathed, her voice laced with the manufactured passion. She looked at him, her eyes wide and fervent. "I want you, Mephiles."
He smiled then, a genuine, if predatory, smile. "Good."
His hands moved, tracing the line of her collarbone, then down to the swell of her breasts. She let out a gasp.
"Beautiful," he murmured, his voice a low growl. He leaned down, his lips finding the hollow of her throat, sending shivers through her. His tongue flicked out, tracing a hot path along her skin. Trying to hide the feeling of violation, she arched her back.
His other hand found the hem of her robe, pushing it aside, his fingers trailing up her inner thigh. She wore only the thinnest of thongs beneath. His touch was cold as his fingers brushed against the sensitive folds of her womanhood. A whimper escaped her.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes gleaming with dark amusement. "Sensitive, Little Rose?"
"Very," she managed, her voice thick with feigned desire. He wasn't just taking; he was savoring.
He leaned down again, his lips brushing against her ear. "Good. I want to explore every part of you, Amy. Every secret curve, every hidden pleasure." His words were a promise, a threat, and a seduction all rolled into one.
He kissed her again, deeper, more intensely. His hand moved lower, his fingers finding the delicate, swollen flesh between her legs. He stroked her, slowly, deliberately, making her gasp and writhe on his lap. She pressed into his touch, letting out soft moans, her hands clutching at his shoulders. She had to make him believe she was lost in him, completely consumed.
He continued to kiss her, his tongue dancing with hers, while his fingers worked their magic below.
She leaned down, her lips brushing against his, her hands clutching at his shoulders, pulling him closer. "Make me yours."
Those were the magic words. His eyes flared with a dark, possessive triumph. He shifted, and she felt the hard ridge of his erection press against her. He was ready.
He tore her panties off then guided her, slowly, deliberately, until her core was poised above his. "Are you ready?"
"Yes," she breathed.
He entered her slowly, a deep, penetrating thrust that made her gasp.
He began to move, a slow, powerful rhythm, pulling almost all the way out before plunging deep again. Amy cried out, her head falling back.
This wasn’t like when Shadow made love to her. This was rougher, more possessive. Amy didn’t feel cherished with Mephiles. But she quickly set that thought aside.
His thrusts quickly became harder, more urgent. Amy’s breath quickened, her insides burned. She trembled from the pain of his rough love while he moaned feeling his orgasm coming.
Mephiles held her tight, feeling the exquisite tremors, mistaking them for pleasure rather than pain. And then, with a deep groan, he came, spilling his seed deep inside her.
They stayed like that for a long moment, the only sounds their ragged breathing and the distant thrum of the club’s music.
Amy held him tight, exhausted, but with a triumphant glint in her eyes. The investment was secured. She was sure of it.
