“Why are there two? How are there two?”
Danny shrugged. “You were the one that asked for the stupid fancy crab.”
“I also said it was one of a kind.” Skulker ran his hand over his hair. “Where did you even find it?”
Danny groaned. “Obviously with the first one—look, do we have a deal or not?”
Skulker grimaced. “You didn’t hold up your end of it.”
“I got you the stupid crab! You didn’t say how many you wanted—”
“I obviously meant one.”
“—and these guys had their claws stuck to each other and wouldn’t budge. So, whatever. Two-for-one deal.” Danny squinted. “Actually, you should give me two weeks hunt-free instead of one for this.”
“One crab is literally all I needed—!” Skulker paused. “Wait their claws were stuck?”
Danny raised a brow. “Yeah? They wouldn’t come loose with pulling or intangibility—”
Skulker bolted away. Danny quickly followed after him, cardboard box of crabs in tow.
“What the hell?! Why are you so messed up about getting an extra crab! You can make sushi or something out of the other one, just promise me my one—two weeks of fucking peace!”
“Get those things away from me!” Skulker yelled. He turned, shooting a bazooka out of his arm.
Danny quickly jerked out of the way. “What is so wrong with these crabs?!”
“One of them can be taxidermied, but a bonded pair will tear any ecto-being around it to pieces as a show of strength for their partner!” He slapped his chest. “I just made this new suit yesterday!”
“You’re just making stuff up; they haven’t done anything to me!”
“It’s probably some weird halfa thing, I don’t know and I don’t care!” Skulker activated his jetpack. “I’ll give you a month, just get those things away from me!”
Skulker shot off and Danny stopped following. “Huh, if it was that easy, I would’ve done this a lot sooner.” He looked down at the box cradled to his chest. “You guys wouldn’t do that to me, right?”
The smaller crab snapped its free claw at him.
“Eh, good enough.” Danny hummed. “I should probably get you guys back to where I found you—” Danny’s eyes lit up. “Or…”
One month later, Skulker would hover outside Danny’s bedroom window, smug as all get out, and promptly disappear when he saw the occupied glass tank set out on Danny’s desk.
